DDC XXVI: They all went to the DDCC and all we got was this Lousy Thread!

DW had state employee discount on Reds tickets last year for certain games, which was one of the reasons we went when we did.

Discounts are always good

Rooting for Falcons of course but happy for Golden Tate on the TD , he's a Hendersonville, TN kid

I would love to commit but I can't say for sure. If I went by myself, it really wouldn't matter the time of the year because my job is pretty flexible. Neither January or early June works well for the family with DW being a teacher and DS in school. School here doesn't end until late June.

That's what I was thinking , if there are a lot of snow days we maybe have school the first few days of June but that hasn't happened in awhile

Morning Dads!

Good luck in the games. DS has a game this afternoon as well and then we have 2 hours of skills clinics for both. After the clinics, it's time for some wings, meatballs and hoagies during the Pats game.

They split the two games today. They got schooled in the first game, mostly because the play a pretty passive game and the coach hasn't worked in any kind of set offence or a way to beat a press. Second game was better but the oppponent was pretty weak. Came away with 40 point win in that one.

Tomorrow he gets to play his first game for the middle school JV team against the school where DW teaches.

not being the one to spread rumors but word on the street is they are thinking more of a every 18 month convention. thinking june of 2014. i like that idea. most likely get more dads to go being school will be out etc.....
i think after 2013, tammy and i are going to start doing three trips per year, each 8 or 9 nights instead of one 8 night and a two week trip in september.
that two week long in wdw can get on your nerves.
dont matter to me when the next one is, i was told i had to go by the boss. then she herd something about a cruise after 2014 and shes all in.
i said, "this is a disdads club, not a disdad and drag wife along club".
told me to ^&%$ *&&, she was going on the cruise.

June? How many months are you in school and how long are the breaks?

Looks like Seahawks are out of it.

The teachers go back to work just before labour day and the students head back after labour day. They get a long weekend for Thanksgiving in early October, a day for Remembrance Day in November, two weeks at Christmas, a week for March break (first week in March), Good Friday and Easter Monday, a long weekend in late May and finish some where around the 3rd week of June. Teacher go a couple of extra days.

There are a few PD days thrown in and we don't make up any storm days.

Same here... School starts the Tuesday after Labour Day...

And it goes to the LAST week of June.

They get a week in March and 2 weeks at Christmas. But they also seem to get PA Days (Professional Activity Days) about every other Friday.

Either way, I am going to really try to make it happen... be it a solo trip, or with the wife and kids...

I worked there and I always got lost, there signage isn't the greatest, Hate that DD and DS arn't well, I hope they feel better soon , Opryland Hotel can be fun, never actually stayed there (I guess that reason is obvious, even though I know locals who have) but we still go for the seasonal stuff

Preferably ones I can afford. We ate at Solaris last night. I've never had a more expensive burrito in my life.
