Any rumor when 2014 dates come out?

I would love to see one of the ships back in New York.:wave2::wave2:

I think they could do some different ports in the Caribbean...Bermuda, southern Caribbean, Tortola, there are a lot of Islands down there.

I do not think they can send the Magic over to Alaska without making the changes they made to Wonder before they sent her there for the first time.

But, whatever they are going to do I wish they would decide soon!!

I agree. I would be SO happy if DCL would send one of the ships back to New York. We live in New Jersey and did the two night cruise to nowhere in July. It was awesome being able to just drive to the port. I felt just like I lived in Florida. :rotfl2:

Seriously, though if they did return a ship to NYC, I would totally be up for an eight night cruise with stops at Bermuda or the US Virgin Islands and Castaway Cay. I know all my friends who live in the tri-state area and cruise with DCL all agree. We wanted to do either the 5 or 8 night cruise from NYC, but didn't have enough vacation time left by the time they were announced.

DCL, if you're reading, please, please, please come back! And, please tell us SOON before I run through my 2014 vacation days! pirate:

Sure they can. There was nothing done to the Wonder to make her more sea-worthy in Alaska. They added an inside viewing area to the Cove Cafe, but they didn't enclose any pools.

However, IF DCL returns to Alaska in 2014, it will be on the Wonder - based on current schedules.

So maybe March for the rest of 2014?

Lame if so... but then I am basing that on the theory here and everywhere that they are going to come back with Port Canaveral, Port Canaveral, Port Canaveral and Miami. I'd rather they just come out with it already so I can move on with visions of going to Japan on a non-Disney trip instead.

We're cruising in the middle of February and I'm hoping to book a dummy cruise onboard. Currently, the latest we can book is Aug 2014. I've noticed that the last few cruises on the Dream in Aug 2014 are already sold out for inside cabins; I'm pretty sure it's all dummy cruises!

Our last cruise was the first week of January 2012 and we were able to book a dummy cruise for December 2013. This time we're cruising later in the year, yet we'll have to book our dummy cruise for much earlier. I'm not holding my breath that anything will come out for 2014 before late spring.

I'm hoping the empty spots for magic/wonder in June could possibly be dcl trying to get NYC spots. Maybe.... Anyone know why June is empty for magic/wonder?

How can you tell it will be the wonder over the magic by the current schedules for 2014?

The last known Wonder cruise ends May 2 in Miami, and the last known Magic cruise ends May 19 in Port Canaveral. For either ship to cruise to Alaska, it would first have to sail to LA via the Panama Canal (14-night cruise), then sail up the Pacific coast to Seattle or Vancouver (5-7 nights). That would put the Wonder in Vancouver around May 21-23, and the Magic in Vancouver around June 7-9. Since the Alaska cruises have been very popular and quite lucrative for DCL, I am reasonably sure they would begin the Alaska cruises in May rather than June. May 16 is also the perfect time for the Magic to do a Transatlantic cruise.

**I just edited the dates of the Magic's last known cruise - which is a 3-night Bahamas cruise ending on May 19. There's more info about the Magic's 2014 summer whereabouts in this post: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=47166665&postcount=1931

The 2014 schedules for the Magic and Wonder go only as far as early to mid-May.

The Magic is on the St Martin port schedule for Sept 18th 2014, which would fall right into a WB Transatlantic timeframe, so this does make some sense

Here's the link to the Maderia port for 2014.

The magic date for the Magic is 05/27/14. Which fits with it's last port of call in the US. There is no return date posted or Funchal. Unless I have missed it.

So it could be may 19th in port canaveral
20th CWC
21th
22th
23th Sea days
24th
25th
26th
27th Funchal

Looks like the magic will go to Europe. But what about the wonder and its drydoc?

It could be just listed as the Disney Magic and the Wonder will take it's place. Time will tell. I have tried the Port of Coppenhagne, but no Disney vessel is listed there.

If the Wonder goes to Alaska, it can have a major dry dock in Victoria, BC.

There was a thread a few weeks ago where someone e-mailed DCL about it. The response indicated that they did not anticipate releasing 2014 until next year. Whether that will wind up being the case or not...only time will tell.

Really? They are not expecting to release past Aug 2014 until next year??? Ie. past Jan 2014? That makes no sense. We are waiting to book a Oct 2014 cruise...
