Hi, we usually book our own trips but have heard that disney magical vacations are having a promotion now for august. I got a price quote for the room and the dining plan. We do not need tickets. If I book thru disney I need to buy at least 1 day ticket per person to purchase the meal plan? Is this correct? Disney magical vacations say that I do not have to buy a ticket. I am nervous about this. Should I be? I got an unbelievable price. I worked it out that it is 35% off the rack rate for the wilderness lodge.
Please help? Is this too good to be true? Should I hold out for a promotion from disney? I am currently booked as a bounceback free dining for 8/18 but we need to go earlier in the month
Our dates are 8/5-8/10. We are a family of 4.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Yes, you need to have tickets to make it a "magic your way reservation" instead of a room only.

35% off is a great deal(I have 35% off the poly thru March) Not really sure how they are getting 35% off in August. Just double check to confirm.

FYI, I believe you can adjust your bounceback dates. When I was going to book a bounceback I was unsure of the dates, but I knew the month and CM told me the dates are adjustable as long as they are within the time that the bounceback is good....Go figure, I checked out by accident without booking :lmao:

I wish we can adjust the bounceback but the start date is the 18th of August which we booked. We need to go at the beginning of august.
As for buying tickets to buy the meal plan, they said no. This is why I am afraid that it is legit. I have old disney tickets and would love to use them and just buy the meal plan. I am nervous. Yes 35% off is a great deal for the wilderness lodge.
I am so confused,lol.
Thank you

Disney does require the purchase of a ticket to obtain the meal plan. The only thing I could think of was that the TA could be running a special where they purchase the 1 day ticket for you, but that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. They'd just tell you that. The ticket would still be on your package when you check in and in your name.... makes no sense.

I'd be cautious. There is no way around the ticket rule with Disney unless you're an AP holder, military, a cast member, or booking DVC.

I am cautious. I am so nervous, lol. I do not know what to do. The quote I got was for 5 nights at the wilderness lodge, 3 adults, 1- 16 year old, meal plan for $2276.20.
Should I be worried???

I'd be concerned that they are quoting you a room with a dining plan when Disney doesn't offer that unless you're one of the above.

Personally, it wouldn't make me comfortable.

Thank you-
me too
I have heard many people on these boards use them (Disney Magical Vacation) and love them.
I think I am going to call them directly tomorrow. I have all of my emails saved.
thank you again

Hi guys!Magical Vacations Travel does group bookings so they aren't the usual run of the mill Magic your way packages with those normal restrictions. They are able to offer room/dining /tickets or room/tickets or room/dining. That's what makes their packages so great. On specific agency exclusives they are unable to offer dining plans because the rates are so heavily discounted (example: Labor Day offer). That offer would be room/ tickets only. I hope that clears everything up for everyone.

It makes perfect sense and there is a way around the ticket rule. It's called Disney Group Sales.

Many agencies, including Magical Vacations Travel work with the Disney Group Sales department to put together exclusive discounts for their clients. Basically, they buy blocks of rooms at a discount and pass the savings on to the consumer. When dealing with the Disney Group Sales Department, agencies can offer a room/dining package WITHOUT clients having to purchase tickets. This may sound too good to be true because we are all used to the way Walt Disney Travel Company does their packages, but, Disney Group Sales simply can package things differently.

So, yes, what Magical Vacations Travel is telling you is true - through their Agency Exclusives discounts, you can purchase a room/dining package without purchasing any ticket whatsoever. It's true.

They have a block of rooms set aside through Disney group sales for August - that's how they are getting the discount in August. Their agency exclusive discounts have nothing to do, whatsoever, with Disney general public discounts or WDTC room/ticket/dining package rules.

Thank you again everyone. I feel so much better. I have been going back and forth via email with the company and they are very accomodating and patient with all of my questions.
Its a great deal
thanks again for all of your help
