:welcome:

You've stayed at the POFQ before, so what did you think about it? Were you totally :cloud9: or was it just "eh, ok?" If you loved it, are you looking to stay some where you know you love, or do you want to try something new? If you didn't love the POFQ, I would try CSR, because you might fall in love with that.

I wasnt IN LOVE with POFQ ... But I liked it. I did LOVE the boat to DD for sure. I kinda want to try somewhere new... But cant afford a deluxe (boooo)... And the CSR looks super nice but worried about all the the walking after a long park day because its so big.. But my kids saw the pool and loved the pics... So Im very confused.

So I need to book this weekend... And then rebook... And rebook... Which is why I thought I belonged here lol.... I need an intervention.

Welcome to our happy home!:goodvibes. We have only experienced the Polynesian, but have friends who stayed at CSR last year and loved it!

My DH is the same way, they trust our Disney instinct! I am sure the ladies here will chime in with some great opinions for you!

The Polynesian.... Dream of mine. Thank you for the welcome!!

Have you priced the WL or AKL? If you booked CSR maybe you can book a preferred room? On our last trip, we stayed at the Pop Century. I was worried about a long walk to the room at the end of a long day walking in the park. We got a preferred room and it wasn't bad at all.

Last August we stayed at Pop but we didn't like it too much unfortunately. I haven't priced any deluxe's in a long time but last summer I did and they were way put of our price range.

Oh, I just gave that as an example on how much of a difference getting the preferred room can give in a big resort. We didn't care much for the Pop either. Bathrooms WAY too tiny, beds too uncomfortable.

Ohhhhhh... I see now lol and that is a very good idea actually. I'm a dummy..... I'm going to talk it over with my hubs tonight and see if he has any input. I hope whatever resort I book is the one we end up at haha. If I change back and forth I'm coming back here .... Lol

There is an unofficial CSR website that has lots of good info on it. This is what is says about room suggestions for people traveling with children...

For vacation guests with children, here are some great locations; Cabana 9b, Cabana 8a, Rancho 7b, Cabana 8b, Cabana 9a, Rancho 6b, and Rancho 6a...in that order. Nearness to El Centro is usually of no importance to many guests. It's much more important to be close to the park bus stops and the Dig Site, the resort’s featured pool. Vacation guests may come to El Centro once or twice; but they will be at the bus stops twice a day (at least) and the pool as often as they can during their stay at CSR.

I would link it, but I don't think that's allowed. Check out the CSR thread here and that site. I'm sure both could answer all the questions you and your DH would have about it.

My kids love the pool at CSR. It's their second favorite after SAB. It's really not as spread out as it looks. We stayed in the preferred area on our last trip. I can walk around the whole resort in about 10-15 minutes. The breakfast buffet is pretty good. The rooms were nice and very clean. It has a better health club then some of the deluxes. The pool is really awesome. I wish I could take that pool and transport it the Poly or the Wl.

Forget everything I said about not doing Club level. I upgraded both reservations to club level today. I am a Hot Mess as usual. Currently it's Wl Cl/Yc cl split. I don't know if WL will stick. I really prefer the Epcot area. I may change it to BW CL. Of course there is that awesome Poly Cl, but I hate the pool...and no hot tub. :scared: I need the Poly Cl, CSR pool and the WL jogging trails all rolled into one resort and then I'll be happy. Is there a 12 step program for Club level addictions?

I try to convince myself I don't want it, but you now the truth is I do. I have never gone without the Dxdp or Club level. We do take advantage of all the offerings and beverages. I know exactly what I'll spend on food once we get there. I know in the long run my vacation ends up costing more doing Club level, but at least I don't have to get annoyed spending 4 dollars for a bag of chips or a pretzel when my kids want a snack. I really missed not having it at Disneyland.

Now I just need to decide where to stay. I loved Wl CL, but I want to do a 5/5 split. I'm not sure I want to spend 5 days in the Mk area. :confused3

I know. I think I checked on it a month ago, and it was not available. I think only LV CL was. Of course it could have been the CM. Some of the Cm's have a really hard time. I definitely haven't ruled out the Poly, but not a fan of all the cranes over at GF. The Poly punch could sway me.

Padawans: Hooray for CL!!! I think I will understand how addicting CL can be....very soon!::yes::

Candace: So????popcorn::

do tell please!:coffee:

Is she needing a Poly fix????

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I was thinking of Poly CL... :beach:

For several reasons....
1) I said I wouldn't stay there until it is rehabbed....well, it will be fresh and new for April!!! :thumbsup2
2) I think we are definitely doing either Atlantis or the Dominican Republic next year instead of Disney....so I feel like I've gotta do this up! pixiedust:
3) I am picturing us arriving at Poly around 9:30 (our flight lands at 8:20 pm), checking in....grabbing a drink and watching Wishes from the lounge......on our first night.....:lovestruc

With that being said....our trip is paid off, and I love that...this would add another $1500 to the cost...thoughts????? What would you do????

If it's not going to force your family to eat Ramen noodles that were cooked over a fire pit b/c in order to pay for the upgrade you couldn't afford any other food or electricity, I say go for it.

Wow. So you are thinking of taking a break from Disney in 2014?? Hmmm...I think if not staying at the Polynesian may be something you regret later, then do it now. When you come back to Disney after your break (I am sure you will...::yes::) the Yacht Club will still be there. Your girls will be older and I am sure will still love being close to Epcot.

But now might be the time to grab the magic of the Polynesian. It would be magical to experience a brand new CL I am sure. Wishes from the beach alone was wonderful. If the $1500 doesn't break the bank then I vote go for it!:beach:
