So I just called member admin and was told our resale purchase was transferred into our account but that we couldn't get our member number over the phone anymore and to wait for the letter... Is this a new policy?
 
WOW! It sure sounds like it,but just to make sure i'd call again and talk to another CM . You never know what the next one will tell you.

Are you a new DVC Owner adding onto an existing membership, or is this a totally new DVC Membership?

If it is a totally new DVC Membership, member administration loads the points into your account in two steps. First, a new membership is created, then a few days later the points in the contract are fully verified and added to that membership. Once that is done, I think you need to speak with Member Services and not Member Administration. Member Services can tell you if the points have been loaded, and they should be able to tell you your membership number....unless this is indeed a new policy of having to wait for the letter confirmation before making any reservations.
 
It's a new membership, maybe I'm just being impatient cuz I want to start reserving ASAP, I was just surprised about not getting my number since I read how other members got their numbers before the letter :confused3

You will soon learn that DVC isn't consistent and they change policy as they see fit.

IMO they deliberately make resale buyers wait to punish you for not buying direct.

I bought my first resale contract in October and also had to wait under the "new policy" I feel your pain !:sad:
 
Or you could try calling again. I found them to be nice. I had closed on two resales and one direct and they treated me no differently one way or another. I was already a member though, I just was trying to find out which membership it would go under and they were helpful as I had my contract information available and seller information when I placed the call. Good luck and maybe the next person who answers may have a different answer :) And welcome!

Lol. I always enjoy your posts Bill.

Call again. Can't hurt. They gave it to me over the phone but that was a year ago. I too was anxious to make my first reservation. If its true they are punishing you, the punishment is worth the savings ;-)

Call MS and ask them to look it up without the member number. This has worked for some in the past.
 
Last week bill told me to just call my broker. Did you try that route?
