Since Disney had discontinued their pet products :sad::sad:. I have to brag about this we just got our little well not so little now puppy a new collar, custom made by someone we know.

Lilo is adorable, and so is her collar! What an awesome friend to make that for her!

Thanks for the kind comments. Yes, those maps certainly did take a while to do, so I'm really glad people are finding them useful.

They are just amazing Andre (I know I told you this yesterday)... I find myself loading them at least 5 times per day because they answer so many pesky questions... Like where the staircases are, and the ice machines... Just an awesome feature!

D~ <--- Who can't wait to contact Venom for the fax info too. :)

hello does anyone know how long it would take roughly to walk from the royal rooms to the serpent slide or would it be faster just using the car? love the look of the royal rooms better but like the serpent slide better for th little oness

also interested to know walking time/distance from preferred AB rooms to serpent slide?

Depends on the specific room, but around ten minutes. Quicker than driving anyway.

Ditto above, plus around five minutes. Driving could be quicker from there, but I doubt it.

I second that! Thank you so much, guys! :goodvibes:thumbsup2:cool1:

Its all I wish for day in and day out, hope that everyone has very magical visits! I know to some it sounds corny but I actually enjoy making guests vacation even better after they correspond with me.

Arrived back home late tuesday night from our 7 night POR-RR stay and figured I would stop by and give a brief resort review. Thanks to work we did not arrive until late on January 1st(technically the 2nd). Check in went fine and we were given room 9052 in Oak Manor, court yard, riverside of mansion. Very happy with location. Room was very clean and roomy for us, even with all the stuff we bring, we drive so DW likes to overpack:) Plenty of room between bed and door area for our sit-n-stand stroller and a few storage bins. We always bring a couple of closet organizers so we do not have to worry about clothing space. Still not a fan of not being able to adjust the AC vents, but just a minor issue. Spent first day hanging by pool which our DD's love, oldest now likes POR pool better than CSR, she said she likes to go around the little island:) We had lunch at Riverside Mill, everyone enjoyed their meals, love the pasta bar. DD's love the fact that we can just get spaghetti noodles with a bit of butter sauce instead of spaghetti sauce. The food court now plays the "Down by the Riverside" song (I think it's on the hour) and has the staff sing along, well; both DD's did not like it the first day but by the end of the trip they were constantly singing it:rotfl: Mousekeeping was very good and buses were excellent, longest wait was about 15 minutes and only 2 trips out of 10 did it go to POFQ. DW was not happy with the cappuccino coffee served at the bakery, for $4 you get a very small cup and 1/2 of it is foam. Only one employee could figure out how to get more coffee, all other's just looked confused and said that its controlled by the machine. So another very good trip to POR:thumbsup2

Glad you had such a wonderful experience!

This has been such an informative thread...Thank you so much to all who support it! For those of you who have experience with room requests and online check-in, I'm wondering if you can tell me if this sounds right?

We are booked in a Royal Guest Room, Standard View at POR. I had an amazingly helpful and friendly CM when I booked on the WDW main reservation line. He asked me if we had any special requests for our reservation and I told him that we have two little ones with a stroller, so I was hoping to be located as close as possible to the main bus stop and food court. I'm not sure he was terribly familiar with POR, but he looked at a map and then recommended that we request a room in Oak Manor. He said he put the request in his notes attached to our reservation. Then he said that when it came time for my trip, I should follow his exact directions by 1) checking in online and 2) NOT putting in a special request on the online check-in form. He said that when the reserving CM got my online check-in at POR, they would be forced to go to the main reservation system to get the greenlight for my room reservation and would see his notes in the reservation section.

I'm not trying to second-guess this CM, because he was very helpful, and it certainly wouldn't be the end of the world if we were in a different building....But all things equal, if we can shave 5 minutes off of our walk back to the room each night with two tired kiddos, that would be super. Now having read through this thread, I understand that I might be better off faxing in a request? Is it Venomhatch that could help me with this? At this point, I don't know whether to leave our request, put something in during online check-in or fax something? Or all three? :rotfl: Any advice would be very much appreciated. TIA!

I am staying at POR for the first time in May. Does anyone know if you can get extra coffee pods from the lobby or Mousekeeping? I really like to have a few cups of coffee before I get out in the morning. If not, does anyone know what kind I should order to bring with me? :surfweb:

DH and I are somewhat picky coffee drinkers who drink a LOT of coffee, and I wasn't thrilled with the brand that they give at the resorts, so last trip I ordered mine from coffeerocket.com when I placed my regular keurig k-cup order. The brand that I ordered was Donut Shop Classics-DH likes his coffee bolder than I do so I ordered dark roast for him and regular for myself. They were about $5 for a box of 15 pods. I just reordered last week for our upcoming trip!

If we'd prefer two queen beds as opposed to a king, how would we go about requesting that? Would it be the same process as how people request specific buildings? I'd love if someone could walk me through it, I've never done that before.

Thanks couldn't find Disney pet stuff anymore... Wish they'd bring it back!

I do too!! I think they're missing out on all the pet lovers who are missing their babies while they're at the World!

Checking in on July 8th-12th! Dining reservations and everything are confirmed, now it's time to stalk the DIS boards :cool1:

How do you have your dining reservations confirmed already if you're not going until July 8th?

Are these the right pods? http://www.coffeerocket.com/Donut-Shop-Classics-Pods-s/1653.htm

I'm also a picky coffee drinker, so this is such a great tip! We stayed at the Dolphin last summer, and they had a similar pod style coffeemaker, but their pods were much bigger, so I wanted to be sure these are the right ones. Thanks for the info!!

Who's the cutest doggie in the world!? Oh my gosh, Lilo is just a sweetie, Venom! But I'm telling you, when I get back from POR I'm going to upload a pic of my shepherd/husky mix wearing Mickey ears, and THEN we'll talk about who's the cutest. ;)

Also, can I just say how nice it is to see so many other Canadians frequenting this board? :thumbsup2

We arrive ar POR on the same day! Are you in the April facebook group by any chance?

Hi everyone!

We are booked in a standard room for March 10-16 :yay: I am planning to call this week to make a room request. I know that we are hoping to stay in the mansion section rather than the AB section. Besides that, I'm just hoping to get as close to the food court as possible. What floor doesn't really matter...anything else about location is not a concern. We are just hoping to be as close to the food court as possible. How should I go about this request? Should I just ask to be as close to the food court as possible and let them handle it from there? I'm thinking the less specific the better right? I'm thinking if I request a specific building and all that I may be less likely to get the request...correct? Or no? I've never done this before so I appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks a ton!!!
