If you stick around with this PJ it will hopefully not be as punny as the title would have it seem!

Here's the deets to get you up to speed!

Her: Shantelle, 24, totally Disney obsessed (of course :goodvibes)
Him: Andrew, 28, only recently Disney obsesses (thanks to Shantelle and his first trip in October!)

We got engaged very simply, he asked me one morning before he even had a ring! We didn't tell anyone until after we went ring shopping and he made it "official" on October 12th :)

This is my gorgeous ring:

There are small diamonds set along the band and then the sometimes white, sometimes warm/yellow diamond in the middle! In the photo it's very yellow but I absolutely love when the stone gets that warm!

And this is a photo from our AMAZING engagement shoot (we did it at the Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Polynesian!):

One more for good measure ;) :

This was taken from the Polynesian boat launch! both photos by Portrayable Photography, she is so great to work with!!! I had surprised Andrew with the Engagement shoot since I knew he wanted it and it was his first time at WDW (and now he's hooked!!)

We started looking into a cruise wedding when NOTHING in our area sounded A) close enough to our budget, B) at all interesting to us, C) like OUR wedding. I had (a few years ago) really been into the idea of a cruise wedding so I brought it up to Andrew one day and the more we talked about it, the more it sounded like OUR wedding! Before our ideas had been ALL over the place and now it all seemed to fall into place.

Just today we got to put the deposit on our stateroom for the 2/6/2012-2/9/2012 sailing aboard the Disney Dream and I can REALLY start planning everything! I've got a few posts to make with our ideas so I'm excited to get going!

Thanks for reading - sorry for rambling - hope to see you all around :grouphug:

Being over a year out from this wedding isn't giving me much reason to post on here but last night we got our deposit put down on the wedding package so I got our confirmation email today!!!!

We will be getting married on Nassau day, 2/7/14 (which we just really liked the 2*7=14 aspect).

Now I've really started delving into what we'll be doing for welcome bags because that will more than likely be the biggest project we'll actually take on for the wedding since everything else is majorly point and choose!

So far my wish list of bags looks like this:
Special soaps (either mickey or something nautical themed)
Some sort of medicine (tylenol, possibly seasickness stuff)
Useful stuff (wet wipes, tide to go)
Magnets with our wedding logo on it (saying something like "I'm here for...")
Sunscreen to go tubes
Nautical themed pen/paper combo (maybe!)
Personalized playing cards with our logo on it

I wanted to cover a lot of different items that people could use going forward and not feel like they're stuck with a lot of useless things in the bag that they have to carry home!

If any of you (that may be reading) have any ideas please let me know! :cutie:

So in a little over a month we'll be sending out the save the dates! I decided to just email them and make the entire photo clickable and it will take the receiver directly to our website! This is not only going to save money on postage and printing, but we'll also be able to direct people to more info on our site (which took me way too long to complete :badpc:)

Here is what we're sending out!

I've been working with my BFF to design these along with what will be our passport invites! I do not have access to photoshop so I've been somewhat of a dictator to my poor MOH

That's really nice. I love it! Look forward to hearing more!

Well readers, I have a short entry and it's mostly in the form of a question/plea for help :rotfl:

I have seen photos of the MK bridal portraits for years. Always wanted them. Glistening eyes while thinking about having them and all. I was planning on paying for them with my refund from this year however after doing my taxes and seeing that I may really be able to do it I'm not sure that I want to spend the money on them when I could spend it on better photography for the cruise...and increase my dress budget a bit...AND still do a honeymoon shoot with Disney in the parks

So what would you all do? Has anyone reading done the bridal portraits and felt like they were losing out on other things? I'm SO conflicted about this because it's obviously not a life or death situation, but I wanted the photos for so long and now...I don't? Ahhhhhh :badpc: I've looked up some info on the boards about each option, but I'm still SO torn about this!

That's really nice. I love it! Look forward to hearing more!

Thank you!! We should be finalizing the invites soon so once I end up printing them I'll post the pics as well (which who knows when that will be, I need to decide on when to send them!)

I hear ya on the cost of the MK shoot. Here's where I'm landing currently on this issue (subject to change as we move along with wedding planning): Like you I have been dreaming about the wedding dress in front of the castle picture for YEARS. It's an amazing once in a lifetime picture and while it is a very expensive picture, it's also a dream for me, and I just can't let that go...I think that is one of those things that would feel (and BE) really smart and logical in the moment but I would regret down the road...

That's just my two cents...your mileage may vary

I am with you on a MK shoot. It's the only reason why we decided on a DFTW over SD, since SD would have been better with our low guest count. I dreamt about these pictures and now as time gets closer I am second guessing. My parents offered to pay for them, but if I don't do them, I can put that money elsewhere. My mom said to me that she knows that if I don't do it, I will probably look back and regret it. We will see, I just don't think the emotional part of me will let go of that dream of those pictures, even though my logical side is screaming to me do something else with the money.

Hi! Just joining in :). I will also be getting married on the Dream sailing January 19-23, 2014. I really like your save the date very cute! I hear you with the MK shoot, not sure if you heard but the price has increased for 2014 to $1700!! We are bringing a photographer along on the cruise so I don't think we will be doing the MK shoot :(! Although I really want to DF and I are paying for the wedding ourselves, so not sure it's gonna happen! I'm looking forward to hearing more. Be sure to check out my PJ!
