Parking at Beach club or Board walk

If we were to have Reservations for Yatchman's steak house at beach club, and parked at one of these resorts, would we be able to go into Epcot?

I know we probably can, just don't want to break any rules as far as parking goes. We would like to eat at the steak house and then go into WS to shop and watch Illuminations.

Definitely park at the Beach Club. that gives the best access to Yachtsman. And - yes - you can go into Epcot. I do it all the time!

Parking is for resort guests only OR ADR's for a limit of three hours.

You cannot park for an extended amount of time, and then go off to the parks.

You can however valet park for a fee of $14.00 per day.

Like I said - I've done it all the time never had and issue, but I'm sure its one of those answers I could get flamed for. I've also had an ADR at Cali or the Wave and parked there, eaten, and gone into the MK. Never once have I had an attendant tell me there was a three hour limit. Usually I am back at the car in 3 or 4 hours.

Edited to say - I was there during a holiday period where they did check to make sure my name was on the Cali Grill ADR list.

Can and should are two different things. Are you supposed to do it; no? I believe it is 2 hours you allowed to park and dine. The exception being if you utilize valet parking. In that case, I believe you are allowed to go to the parks as well as dine at the hotel.

Please, OP: park at BC/YC for your reservation (you're allowed up to 3 hours for this). Then if you wish to go to EPCOT, drive to the EPCOT parking lot. That or pay to park in the valet section of the BC/YC lot. There's probably nothing that would prevent you from going into EPCOT, and you might not be towed, but that doesn't make it the right thing to do per accepted rules regarding parking at the resorts. Please keep in mind those guests who have paid a lot of money to stay at BC or YC, in part, because of their location.

Yes, but you added you were back at the car within the time limit.

Your first post would give the OP the impression they could stay there all day, which is totally incorrect.

You are not a guest of those resorts you are stealing money from DIsney if you park longer than the 3 hrs as you are not paying for theme park parking like everyone else. PLUS you take away self parking for guests of the hotel which is rude

We are already staying at another WDW resort, so I wouldn't be paying to park anyway.

If you're there for dinner you should be able to park at the Beach Club, eat and then hop into Epcot all within the 3-hour limit. I wouldn't worry too much if you go over by an hour or less. The rules are designed to keep people from parking there all day and avoiding paying to park in the lots and to ensure that the hotel guests have parking. I see you're a DVCer. If you have an AP and the Tables in Wonderland card you can valet park for free.

Yes, it is entirely possible that you can park at the BC or BW and then leave the car there for the day. This doesn't mean that you should though. Parking, in the self parking lots, is for those who are doing something at that resort (eating, shopping) or paying to stay there. It is not supposed to be used for park access.

Sure, you are already staying at a Disney resort, so you don't have to pay for parking. But, there are a lot of offsite guests that want to avoid parking fees by parking at the resorts and then going to a park.

And there will, in fact, be times during the year that there are barriers up, preventing anyone other than a paying guest to enter the parking lots. This happens a lot at CR, BW and YC/BC. Especially at YC/BC/BW during Food and Wine Festival time.

So, plan accordingly.

The general rule everywhere in the world is that when you drive to a venue, when you are ready to leave you should drive away.

Disney has two exceptions:
(1) When you stay at a Disney's resort you may leave your car there and use the buses, including all of check in day and all of check out day, the latter until you get back after the parks close for extra magic hours.
(2) You may leave your car in a theme park lot while you park hop or visit resorts by bus.

Disney's enforcement is usually somewhat rudimentary such as issuing 3 hour parking passes or checking for your name on a list of restaurant reservations. Note that if Disney did not enforce anything then you could well arrive for your reservation and not find a parking space.

yes but you ARE taking away spots from resort guests that are staying at that particular resort. A lot of people try to pull this that are staying offsite. I am not psychic and you did not state in you OP that you were staying onsite, but even staying onsite at any other hotel you still have a 3 hr limit at a different resort.

Meh. Unless he's going at a VERY busy time there is plenty of parking for resort guests if he stays a litte bit over the limit. If he is going at a busy time, IllumiNations is usually done before the MK & DHS close so he'll be out of there before those guests return.

Bottom line is if you park at a resort and go into a park, you are breaking Disney policy. It doesn't matter if you self park or Valet, resort parking was not designed for or ever intended to augment park parking.

That's right..we do too..it's common practice and not an issue.

I would care if I was staying there and couldn't find a parking space. I've had that happen many times at Boardwalk, going round and round trying to find an empty spot. I complained to the manager one time, he said that is why DVC members have free valet. Well, we don't have free valet anymore. So I have to pay for valet at my own resort because other people are parking and going to Epcot?

Exactly, and even if you weren't people park there for Epcot all the time it is not an issue. At least no where but here.
