Be Our Guest before MNSSHP?

Would it be a bad idea to have a 4-4:30pm (depending on what time we are allowed in for the Halloween party) ADR for Be Our Guest on the night that we are attending MNSSHP? Would we miss too much of the festivities? We have another full day planned at MK, but I think we are doing CRT for breakfast or lunch and then we want to do the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party that night. We REALLY want to try Be Our Guest, though. What would you suggest: 4-4:30pm ADR on night of Halloween party (we will NOT have park tickets this day) or skip the dessert party and do Be Our Guest on our full MK day?

ETA: The day of the party would be Halloween if that matters

I have no opinion on the Dessert Party (never done it), but seems like either way you want to do it is fine.

I normally recommend eating your evening meal in MK and well before the 7:00p MNSSHP starts--doesn't matter where. This maximizes your limited time at the party and even allows you to get in a long queue for a character M&G (such as Seven Dwarves or Princesses/Princes) before the party starts if that's your thing.

(And no reason to think the standard 4:00p party admission will change this year.)

Thank you! Do you know what time they allow Halloween party guests in? Would I be ok with a 4 or should I try for 4:15-4:30?

ETA: Just saw that you added they allow guests in at 4. I'll go for 4:15-4:30. :) Thanks!!

They consistently open the gates for party-goers at 4:00, and even a few minutes before on occasion.

Halloween is a Wed. and we are planning CRT on a Sat. :) But thanks for the idea, I'll make sure I don't plan a breakfast for Thurs.!

About the dessert party, that's disappointing. :( I've heard good things about it, but granted I haven't talked to many people.

I love to eat a nice sit down meal before a party in the MK. As long as it's early. We have enjoyed many an early dinner at CRT before a Christmas or Halloween party.

BUT.

We had a 4 PM ADR at BOG twice on nights we were attending MVMCP this past December. And it ran us behind both times. Now, I will say that I like to line up early for headline meet & greets, so that was my issue. But I didn't make it to where I wanted to be after dinner until 6:30 both nights. And the lines at that hour to get wristbands are much longer than I am used to.

So I probably wouldn't do it again. Maybe it's just because it was still so new, but I'll go with a non-party night next time for BOG.

Something else to consider...

There are several characters that are available during the regular day hours that may not be available at the party. If getting photos with them while in costume is important to you, you may not want to eat during that time. For instance, in 2011 we dressed as Toy Story 3 characters. We knew that Woody and Jessie would not be available for meet and greets during the party, so we got there at 4pm, spent some amazing time with them, they sent us on a mission to deliver something to Buzz, and then we grabbed a quick bite to eat. We were able to then get in line for the princes & princesses by 6pm.

The best way to tackle MNSSHP is to have a good plan. Halloween will be a sellout, so get your tickets early. Have fun! :goodvibes

Not to burst your Halloween bubble, but Halloween is on a Thursday this year. I know, because it's my DGD's fifth birthday, and we've been planning this special 5th birthday trip to WDW for years. :cool1:

Since we're going the same week, maybe we'll see each other in the parks.

As you already noted, it's probably best to plan your ADR for sometime around 4:30 (I wouldn't go any earlier than 4:15 pm). They may open the gates for party goers a little before 4:00 pm , but they may also be strict and not let anyone in until 4:00 pm. If that's the case, after you get through the ticket gates (assuming everything hasn't gone to that NextGen system by then) and walk to BOG, it'll probably be close to 4:15 pm. I'd actually aim for something around 4:30 pm to make sure you aren't late.

Most in park meals only take between 60 and 90 minutes. So, a 4:30 pm ADR would have you finished somewhere around 6:00 pm. That still gives you an hour before the special party events start (at least). So, in that way, you are unlikely to miss out on MNSSHP time. You probably won't have a lot of time to do other things, but you'll still be able to trick-or-treat, see the parade and fireworks, and meet some characters at the party itself.

Oh my, we are/were planning on eating at BOG before attending MVMCP. I was planning to eat at BOG at 5:00PM. We will not be getting into the meet and greet lines (our party is my DH and two teenage girls who are not into characters). I am dismayed to hear that your dining experience took 2 1/2 hours! Were you not seated promptly or was food service super slow?

We did BoG during MVMCP last month. Had dinner ADR at 4:45. We were out of there in an hour or so. It worked out perfectly with plenty of time for the party festivities.

All of the above???

I did take a little bit to be seated even though we had the earliest dinner seating time availabe. Service was a little slow, but not terrible. Mostly it took a while just to take it all in. We didn't want to rush through after everything we went through to get the ADR. There was a bit of a line to meet the Beast, but not terrible. And we did take a few photos on the way out.

You could probably get out sooner, but don't rush through it. There's too much to see in there.

If you're not into characters, you'll probably be fine. Lining up for the hard to meet characters was the real reason I wanted to be out sooner. If you're not doing that, then take your time.

And perhaps they'll be a little more effecient by later this year.

We will be attending a party this year.

my plan is to get a adr for BOG for 4:30.
this gives us time to get in the entrance at 4pm and make our way up main street.
allows us that 15 minute check in window.

My fear is that BOG is so huge they will give away our seats if we are not there on the minute of our reservation.

we should be down in plenty of time-- someone will go get a FP to something-- anything-- while the rest go get in line for the 7 dwarfs
