Wooooohooooo!!

Did 8 miles this mornings with almost no pain. Finished in 1 hour 35 minutes. I had to do some walking but I'm fine with that. I've had several injures in the past few months and I wasn't sure if I was even going to get to do the PHM. But thanks to Physical Therapy and lots of PT Tape, I'm back baby!!

Awesome!! Nothing better than a long run with no pain.

You aren't dumb! :) I had a hard time figuring it out too...when I finally asked for help, someone pointed me to a DIS link that had a step by step instruction. Sorry, I have no clue where it is! But basically, what you have to do is upload your photo to an image hosting website...the instructions I used at the time suggested Photo Bucket so that's what I use now. Once you do that, each photo you upload there will show several different codes (links) for that pic that you can click on to copy...for this website, chose the IMG code, copy it and then paste it in the box on this website that asks for the URL. Beware though, I normally have to go in Photo Bucket and edit the pic to resize it, otherwise the pic that posts here is ginormous. If you try it, just preview the post before you submit the post and you'll be able to see if it worked or not. Maybe someone else here knows where that thread is that explains how to post photos? Or maybe there's an easier way that I'm not aware of?

Uh oh. That's a lot for me to get confused on.

Here's a workaround. Since I already know how to use my fundraising site to raise money for Shot@Life, I uploaded a few photos there. I haven' officially "launched" it yet, so it's just between us princesses anyway. http://www.crowdrise.com/shotlife/fundraiser/cindylevin/

I made the Pocahontas costume from some no-sew instructions I got online using 2 mens 2XL tshirts I got for $10. I tested it in 38F weather this morning and it worked great! I'm very pleased with myself. It's not really like the character costume, but I think it's native american enough. With the hair and the necklace, it'll be pretty obvious who I'm supposed to be. Oh and the 9 year old Meeko I'll alternately be chasing or have lagging behind me.

Princesses, feel free to make a donation while you're there looking at pics. I'm going to make a video with my daughters soon talking about why we're running our races!

Hello Princesses!

It has been quite a while since I posted but I do follow the thread pretty much every day. So pleased to hear that a number of injuries have healed :cool1: and hope that the others resolve soon :goodvibes. My knees have been aching and tightening up a bit more that I'd like so I've been making sure to do extra stretching and icing.

The thought of flights being delayed/cancelled is why I am driving down with my parents (they drive to SC for the month of March every year so this year they are just going a week early), we plan to arrive around noon on the Friday and that's when my SIL (who is running with me) should be arriving at MCO. My parents will leave around noon on Sunday, my SIL leaves Sunday evening and I'm leaving Monday afternoon.

Happy training!

Where have you seen the Gold Bond product? I'm almost out of BG and was going to get more, but cheaper is better. :thumbsup2

:cool1::cool1: Congrats! Thank you for sharing the video!! Where did all of the buildings come from? I have never seen them before.

Be sure to double check your straps before the run. I'm a dance mom (not a crazy one, LOL) and from experience the straps are not always sewn in tight. I would maybe carry two safety pins with me just in case.

Thank you for this!

I carried my Olympus 850sw in my spibelt for the 5k last year and never took it out. It did not bounce. The first time I used it as a test run on the treadmill, I had it on the wrong spot and it was making me feel like I needed to pee. Once I peed and moved it, I didn't have any issues.:rotfl2:

:goodvibes:goodvibes I can't tell you too much, but my mom had it and had surgery to remove it. I did find this, which is what she sent me to read up on it. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/mortons-neuroma/DS00468

I would say, before you get cortisone shots, be sure to read up on why they use them and what results you can expect. I had several in my heel for PF which did a little to nothing. The Dr lead me to believe they would "fix" it, when in reality it was a bandaid. I was pain free for a day or so and found out later there were possible side effects he never mentioned.

Thank you! They are all playsets sold by Disney, we got most of them on ebay as most of them are retired. The main street set is a Sears set from the mid 90s. My hubs is amazing!

Oh.my.goodness princesses. Update. I have a horrifying stomach virus that landed me in the er. So insane. Im home now. On an amazing front they did a sono and we saw the tiny flicker heartbeat! At only 5w5d that is pretty amazing! But i am very sick still so please send me any healthy vibes you can spare. Love you all and happy training!

I am glad you saw the heart flicker.. I hope you feel better fast.

Just booked our final (I think!) ADR for this trip...breakfast at Kona on the day we leave...I can already taste it. I know everyone goes there for the Tonga toast, but when I was there for Thanksgiving I had the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes for the first time. speechless. Those things are the BEST. I can't wait to have them again! Hopefully this will keep me plugging away for the next month+...knowing how much deliciousness I plan on eating after this race!

Aaaand, I am SO torn about my tutu skirt that I had made for this race :( I LOVE it...so adorable, but now I'm not sure about running in it. I know exactly where it's going to ride up in the back under my hydration belt without even having to try it out. I'm going to end up looking like the lady coming out of the bathroom with her dress tucked into her stockings. Also, why am I in denial about being able to wear a tutu when I have way to much junk in my trunk? I keep thinking "oh well, this one's made this way so it'll work and look better than the other ones." no. no it won't. I know how picky I am, but I seem to forget that when fluffy girly things are in front of me! It makes me wish I was walking the 5k or something to at least get some use out of it because it was on the expensive side for sure. So, I've just put in an order to "old faithful", a.k.a. Team Sparkle, which is what I should have just done to begin with. I may change my mind between now and then and find a way to deal with it, but I want to have what I already know works for sure just in case.

I just ordered from them. I am so excited. Have you run in them before? Do you like them?

To the experienced Princess Marathon runners. I have a few questions. I was not able to book the spa retreat because it was full. If I bring a bag is there somewhere for me to put it? What is the start time of the race? What time should I arrive? Is there an event for runners afterwards I.e. food, snacks, activities? Just trying to get my mind right :). Thanks!!!

Cute Pocahontas costume!

Yep, I have run in them several times and they are great for adding some fun and bling to your outfit without it being instrusive on your run. They weigh next to nothing and you can wear whatever you are already comfortable with underneath...and they are affordable enough to build your running wardrobe up with tons of colors to match anything! A time or two towards the end of a race, the elastic band has ridden up over my compression bottoms and rubbed a little spot on my lower back (you never feel those until you hit the shower, and it's like SURPRISE!!! I hate that! :headache:), but I know that was due to my hydration belt moving around some. So, now I use a few small safety pins before the race starts to pin it in back, front and sides to whatever bottoms I'm wearing underneath to make sure that doesn't happen.

Cripey-- Sign up for the 5K!!! :rotfl2: We are walking the 5K also.
I have a sparkel skirt for that. Also if you do wear your Tutu who cares if it rides up. You will not be the only one!!!

They will have a bag check, Most of us get ready to get on the bus by 3:30AM ish, Race starts at 5:45. You will get snacks right after you finish. Last year I did not think they were that good. But thats me.

Great idea. I will make sure to bring some safety pins. I already have horrible chaffing on my lower back from my sports bras and you are right you don't know until you hit the shower and it really stings. What brand of compression pants do you wear? I was thinking about getting a black Capri pair.

There is a ton of stuff after the finish, you can pay $10 for a 10 min massage
you can buy tshirts, get your medal ingraved, there is a dj.

My goup does not stay at the finish too long, we do the massage and head to the car and back to the resort.

Since I started running I've just worn Nike Dri-fit compressions in shorts and capris, but while THEY call them compression, they aren't so much compared to serious, targeted compression like CW-X. CW-X compression bottoms just don't fit me right though, unfortunately. If they did, I'd probably never take them off! However, I recently stumbled on a pair of Brooks compression capris in my local running store that I really really like. They are a little long on me for capris, but I'm used to that by now. They feel more like true compression than my Nike ones...sort of halfway between the Nike and CW-X. I've only had them for a couple of weeks, but I'm liking them alot...will probably run Tink in them and, if that goes well, Princess too.

Cripey, did you see the Double Dumbo Challange at DL?

Do the 10K and the Half and you get a Double Dumbo Medal

Man, if it did not cost so much to get there. UGH!
