When can I add another day to my tickets?

We are headed to WDW in early June for 7 days and six nights, We have a MYW package and I presently only paid for 6 day park hoppers for everyone. My thought originally was that since we were driving DH would want to "hit the road" early on departure day and we wouldn't need tickets, but with the addition of some magical pirate experience and cruise ressies from my MIL (gotta love her!) DH now thinks we might want to add a park 1/2 day and take longer to get home. My question is, can I wait until we are actually in the parks to make that decision or do I need to do it now or before we arrive?

Thanks,
A.

Yes, and it's actually a good idea to do it once you've used the tickets once and not before.

I would wait until you are down there and have used the tickets.

As for where: you *should* be able to do it at the entrance to any theme park, definitely at the Magic Kingdom ticket booths!

Hoping to chime in because I have the same question. However, what is the difference between adding the day now before arrival and adding after I have already used some or all of the tickets? Thanks! :)

I am wondering the same thing--do you get some sort of bigger discount by waiting until you have used your tickets? What is the cost to add an extra day?

And not to hijack, but since questions are being asked, can I add the NO EXPIRATION option once I'm there? I just booked our early Dec stay online and booked the 10 day/PH plus WP&M but the NO EXP option is not available online and we want to add those for a future visit.

All the information that you are ALL looking for is on the sticky at the top of the page called "Everything you need to know about tickets."

Hi there!

You can upgrade your tickets until the very last day of your vacation - essentially, if you can still enter the park, you can still upgrade your tickets.
So, with a six day park hopper, you can upgrade your tickets up to and including your last day - the sixth one. But, if you come into the park on that seventh day and your tickets have no days left, you can't upgrade them. The difference is actually only $10 per person for that seventh day, so that 1/2 day isn't as expensive as you might think! :)

The only difference is the ticket price. If you upgrade it without using your tickets, you will pay if Disney has changed their prices. If you upgrade after you have used your tickets, they will make sure it is the current price and then upgrade you. But, if you bought your tickets after June and are visiting before next June, you should be fine either way.

Same prices online, same prices in person, same prices no matter what day you upgrade. Cost differs each day - to go from a 2nd to 3rd is $66, 3rd to 4th is $14 and any addl. days after that is $10 per day. :)

You can absolutely add the No expiration option in person! Any ticket window at any park can help you.

Sorry, but that info is not quite correct in this case.

Since the OP's tickets are part of a WDW Resort Package, their tickets will have their NAMES printed on them by Disney.
This means that any of those tickets can be upgraded... even days after the last of their assets have all been used.
The only factor is the traditional validity and upgrade limit of 14 days after first use of a ticket.

Note that non-expiration sometimes (often) does not save you money.

If you need to buy another ticket to finish the second vacation then chances are that the total cost of the two tickets for the two vacations will be greater compared with non-nonexpiring tickets for each vacation. For this reason you might choose to wait on upgrading the tickets until close to the time they will be fully used up during the first vacation, and make up your mind then.

Thanks for pointing that out. We are going to buy through UT for our Nov/Dec 2013 trip. We'll use 6 day park hoppers then, but I'm thinking of adding the WP&M and NON EXP to those because we've never done the WDW water parks nor Disney Quest and that would give us those 6 options for a trip the following summer where we plan to stay off-site, do the water parks and some other FL experiences.

OP here - just wanted to say thank you for answering my question. (I always forget about the stickies at the top - sorry about that!) We WILL wait until we are down there and see if we need/want to stay and play that last morning, lol who am I kidding, of course we will! But we will probably wait anyway, just to be sure. Super cool that it will only cost us $10 each - definitely worth a 1/2 day in a park!

Thanks
A.

Just wondering how the new room/tix offer effects upgrades...I am getting ready to book a trip for June and we are going to do 7 day base but we might want to add hopper and/or another day...will the price be the same whether I add it now (where I am getting some sort of ticket discount) or if I add it once we have used the ticket will it be the same?
