We spent a lot of time last year looking through various websites. We came across these series of videos which helped us quite a lot.So, it seems that many of you book your own excursions, ie not through Disney. Is this the case? When we went to Alaska we booked all of our excursions through Disney. How hard is arranging the transportation, etc (I got spoiled that Disney just took care of everything). Also, is it really that much cheaper? Very curious about this!
Thanks.
DW (28) and I (31) are getting quite excited about this, our first cruise ever. If there was ever any doubt about whether we'd pull out before the March full payment deadline, it was eliminated this past week when we booked our (non-refundable) flights!
We're from Vancouver, so we decided to extend our European vacation a bit and see a few places other than during the cruise. On our itinerary are Amsterdam, Barcelona (of course), Milan, Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt. We haven't been to any of these places before, so the month-long trip will be chock full of firsts for us!
Hi,
I have a question for all of you who will be flying back to the US immediately post-cruise. We are not on this sailing but we are considering a shorter Aug cruise in the Med but I am limited in the amount of time I can take off work. I have heard that with past Med cruises, DCL was very good about getting guests off the ship and to BCN with plenty of time for early return flights. For our dates, BCN to Philly departs at 10:30am. I worry this is so early but really if we had to stay over another night in BCN we would probably not be able to do this cruise (we would have to be at work the next day.) Past cruisers have said even with 10-something am flights they had plenty of time. We would use DCL transfer to BCN just to keep it simple.
Is anyone doing this?
We're not flying to the US, but did the Med cruise last year. We were off the boat and back at our Barcelona hotel for 9am and were, by no means, first off the ship.
If you let DCL know your flight times I'm sure you could easily make it to BCN for a 10:30 departure.
Happy New Years everyone. We have hit a cold spell (-31 C with windchill) so I have had lots of time to plan. I'm driving my husband crazy as I keep interrupting the World Jr. Hockey games! We just booked a private tour (Eden Walks) of Ancient Rome, so now Rome is all set to go. We tour Ancient Rome first and then head to Gladiator School. We made the difficult decision not to take the 5 hour return trip to Florence as our 10 year old gets very bus sick! We will hop on the train and explore Cinque Terre instead. We have a driver/ guide booked for the day in Naples. We hired a guide for 1/2 a day in Malta. We will explore the rest of the ports on our own. Hope it warms up soon so that we can go skiing.
I see a lot of you talking having booked excursions already.
Particularly a Gladiator excursion.
I cannot find the list of available excursions per port.
Can anyone point me in the directions as to where I can find them?
thanks
