split stay and park tickets

We are planning on doing a split stay--6 nights at POR and 4 nights at BC. With the new promo package deal, can we get 8 day parkhopper tickets on the POR package and just a resort discount on BC? Also if we only use 5 days of tickets during our stay at POR, can we still use the other 3 days while staying at BC? We are used to booking resort and tickets separate and not doing a split stay. Thanks

That is exactly how I'd do it. Room with tickets that cover the whole trip for first part of trip at POR and then a room discount for BC and use the rest of the tickets.

This is exactly what we are doing! I have 3 nights + 8 day tix booked at POR and a 6 night room only at BC. I got a discount on each reservation and will use the tix on the POR ressie for the entire stay.:goodvibes

ETA: We saved $1200 overall - about $300 on POR and about $900 on BC; we are in a RGR at POR and Garden View at BC. HTH

What is the best way to do a split stay? We plan to stay at CBR from the 17 - 27th but would like to maybe do a split stay at the Poly starting on the 22nd. We need park hopper with dinning plan.

Should we go CBR with 8 day parking and then one at Poly? What works best?

Thanks for your help!

We did a split stay and did it the same way, tickets on the first ressie, the other just room. Be warned though, whenever your stay is, if free dining is involved it gets more complicated.

I had a split stay booked for May, and when i called to apply the new promo discount they adjusted the tickets to each stay so that i can get the ticket discount all days...Previously we had 9 days booked with one hotel and 1 day with the other, but, in order to get the new ticket discount on all the park ticket days you have to be booked with 4+ days of tickets...So they just changed the reservation to 4 days with one hotel and 6 days on the other...Hope this helps, enjoy your trip!

I'm interested with how this would affect the dining plan as well. Do you need to start over with a fresh dining plan, tickets when you change hotels?

Yes. For your second portion you'd either need to just have a room only, or a 1 day ticket with the room and the dining plan. (depending upon the discount, you could need more tickets, etc).

Your credits from the first stay/dining plan will expire at midnight of your checkout day.

We are staying at CSR July 1-8 with a magic your way package with dining with our family. My mom, son, and I may be coming up 2 days early and want to stay at AOA or movies using my cm cousin's family discount. Is there anyway, we can get our package perks (Disneyquest tickets, putt putt tickets, Planet Hollywood voucher, etc.) during the first part of our stay? We were planning on going over to CSR during the first part to make sure they ready for us when we checked in on the first. My son has over 20 food allergies and aeroallergens, and will need the vip cleaning. Last time, we waited 3 hours after checking in for our room to be ready which really wasn't a problem since it was pouring down rain that day. We were wondering if we could pick up the package perks then, so we could use the those first 2 days when we won't be going to the parks. We will have 7 days of park hoppers + a free water park ticket to use July 1-8.

Are you getting the dining plan? I'm assuming you are, otherwise this doesn't make sense. If it's just room and tickets, it's probably cheaper to get a 10-day discounted ticket with your first stay and just take the room only discount on your second stay. Regardless of discount, it always costs more to buy two sets of tickets.

The vouchers for the package perks are included in the folder mailed to your home with all of your package info in it. You do not pick them up at the resort.

I just looked at the vouchers that were included in our trip last October. On the front of each voucher is the Package Validity Dates and on the back it says Resort ID required (I'm assuming the KTTW card) and says the voucher expires at midnight of the check out date. It doesn't say anything about the start date for the vouchers so you might be able to use them early or they might only be valid during the package dates. :confused3

Maybe you could start a new thread asking if anyone has used the vouchers before the start of their package.

ok, Thanks

dining requires a package with tickets. FD even requires multi day tickets. You can however, get those tickets ahead of time, up to 3 days (or it supposed to go).

So you could do day 1-3 at room only, and day 4-7 with package with tickets and dining.

Best is to do the package first and then do room only. Multi day tickets are valid for up to 15 days since issued. Therefore you can do days 1-4 package with dining and days 5-7 room only.
