The Wettest, Merriest, and Happiest Birthday/First Visit Nov/Dec 2012 TR! 2/13 FINAL!

I bet it won't be raining so bad next time yall go. :thumbsup2

I'm shocked that Screamin' was your first outdoor loop! I feel like those are super common around here! That's funny. I love that NPH does the 'safety' spiel or whatever... that's awesome! I love him.

My husband, who refers to roller coasters as "death machines," took one look at Mickeys Fun Wheel and said, "lets do the swinging ones!" I thought he was joking. He was not. So being the good sport I am (and also thinking about the rides I might convince him to do) I agreed and we did it. OMG. MOST TERRIFYING RIDE EVER! The baskets are identical to the non-swinging ones, which means there are no restraints. NONE. So now I refer to it as Mickeys Fun Wheel...of death.

Oh my heavens, I would never! I could not get over how FAST they moved, and on top of that, with no restraints?! I don't understand how that is evenly remotely safe. I would probably end up with my face squished against the cage. I totally understand why you'd call it that. :rotfl:

My little boy is a huge Oswald fan due to Epic Mickey! We had a lot of rain on our trip last May. Hurricane ? (can't remember the name) wrecked havoc with our trip. On our Animal Kingdom day the rain was very heavy. The wait time for Expedition Everest dropped to like 5 minutes. So my thrill loving kiddo's made us ride it twice (back to back) in heavy rain! The rain was cold and it stung our skin! The kids loved it! DH and I just looked at each other and silently thought, "We are way to old for this!"

I alway thought that looked like an awesome roller coaster!:thumbsup2 It looks really long! I hope the rain let up for you later in the day. Looking forward to hearing what happened next and seeing the awesome $12 Candy Cane!

Oswald is awesome! :thumbsup2 Rain is fine, we're used to it as Seattleites... but this rain just would. not. let. up. Every time I thought it would go away, it just rained harder. The thing about Florida rain is that it usually rains REALLY hard for a little bit, but then stops. Not in Disneyland! But the nice thing is that it definitely clears things out... I can imagine how it'd be going on EE in the rain! I'd probably love it though since it's my favorite Disney attraction!

California Screamin' is way longer than I thought it would be! It was so much fun, and so fast, too! Hoping for an update here in the next day or two!

Ugh, hopefully the rain went away soon!!! Yay for a surprise NPH guest "appearance"!

Hahaha, weeee'll see about the lovely rain... And yes, I just was obsessed with his voice. It's awesome because you can hear it as you walk over, it's like the rollercoaster is inviting you on. I loved his "5, 4, 3, 2, 1 SCAAAAREEEEEAM!" as you launched. So much fun!

Loving the trip report Dani! We leave in two days and you are so totally getting me excited to go!!! So much so in fact that I've been reading your WDW TR too. Thanks for puting all this effort into your TR's!!!!

Thank you! 2 days?! You are there now!! I hope you are having the best time! And I'm so glad you've even decided to check out my WDW TR, too! I'll be writing another one for our upcoming trip here, and I can't wait! TRs are ridiculously time-consuming but it's a really fun way for me to remember our trip and kind of re-live it all over again! :goodvibes

I bet it won't be raining so bad next time yall go. :thumbsup2

I'm shocked that Screamin' was your first outdoor loop! I feel like those are super common around here! That's funny. I love that NPH does the 'safety' spiel or whatever... that's awesome! I love him.

Haha it seriously better not. I'm fine with some rain but this day in particular was brutal... ESPECIALLY when you wear glasses! You can't see anything at all because of the rain on your glasses, and if you take them off, you're blind!

Yeah, I've just never been on one with and outdoor loop! I've been on plenty of rollercoasters but I never went to Six Flags when I lived in Boston... we don't have a ton of theme parks around Seattle, either.

NPH's voice is so perfect for it. Here's a video of his different spiels... The last one is my favorite! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HHCpPCWYQA

I'm finally getting caught up with commenting! (Probably going to be long, I have a LOT to comment on! :rolleyes1) I don't remember where I left off, so I'm going to start with IASW-OMG! :scared1: Not only are the decorations amazing, but I just LOVE how they have characters from DISNEY MOVIES on that ride! Ahhh I wish they did that at Disney World!

I love the hoodie that Matt got with Jack Skellington! And again, I just skimmed through your pictures of the Haunted Mansion, but from what I did see, it looks phenomenal! :yay:

The castle is BEAUTIFUL! OMG! I've seen other pictures of it lit up, but for some reason, your pictures made it look even more amazing! I really have to go to Disneyland for Christmas!

Yum, I'm so glad there's an Earl of Sandwich in Disneyland now! Not that I'm going anytime soon, but when I do, I'm happy to know there is one there! Ugh those heating lamps sound annoying!

I'm glad your jacuzzi tub helped your feet! I've read that you're not supposed to soak your feet in hot water at the end of the day, because that makes them more inflamed, that you're actually supposed to use ice water! :scared1: I couldn't bring myself to actually put ice in our tub in November, but my feet hurt SO badly that I did soak them in cold water every night! That's so funny how we're both the same with our foot ailments and our DH's both have back pain! Well not funny exactly, but you know what I mean! :rotfl2:

YAY candy canes!!! I cannot believe people RUN to get them, that's crazy! It's good to know you guys just walked over and you still were able to get some from the first batch! :thumbsup2

Ugh, the Matterhorn does look kind of cramped, that's one of the things I don't like about Space Mountain, sitting in a weird single file row like that! I'm glad you went on though, even if it wasn't the best ride in the world!

I love that DLR still has some of the classic Disney rides like Mr. Toad and Snow White! Another reason to go there!

Aww, your Mickey pancakes were adorable!

OMG New Orleans square is amazing! Seriously, I can't even look at the Christmas decorations right now, they are putting me in a state of depression! I miss Christmas! I miss Disney! :sad1:

DLR's Space Mountain actually sounds much more enjoyable than WDW's! I mean, I like being scared, and thinking I could fall to my death at any moment in WDW's, but I think I'd like DLR's much better!

Ugh I can't believe it was pouring so badly at California Adventure! I'm not sure how I'd feel about Paradise Pier either, but I'm glad you liked it! That tree that is full of red and gold ornaments is so pretty!

California Screamin' looks awesome! I LOVE roller coasters, so that will probably one of the first things I do when I go there!

Haha, I don't think I'd go on one of the swinging side of that ferris wheel either! Although I'm guessing my DH would insist! :rotfl:

Yay I can't wait to see the candy canes!

THERE! Finally caught up! I've been reading on my phone but I haven't commented in a while and now I'm finished, yay! :yay:

wait!!!! did you say trading vinyls?I thought you could only trade pins. Can you trade vinyls too?

I'm finally getting caught up with commenting! (Probably going to be long, I have a LOT to comment on! :rolleyes1) I don't remember where I left off, so I'm going to start with IASW-OMG! :scared1: Not only are the decorations amazing, but I just LOVE how they have characters from DISNEY MOVIES on that ride! Ahhh I wish they did that at Disney World!

AHH! YAY! Glad you're here and getting caught up with commenting! I am really behind on commenting on people's TRs, myself. Balancing my PTR, this TR, plus ya know, our trip being in 9 days, I'm a little busy, hahaha. I'll have lots of time when we get back though which is good.

Anyway, IASW was beautiful! I am so excited to show off this video I took later. I'm actually thinking about making a little video montage of our trip as a whole, but I just need to find time to do it. And I agree, the Disney characters were so great!

I love the hoodie that Matt got with Jack Skellington! And again, I just skimmed through your pictures of the Haunted Mansion, but from what I did see, it looks phenomenal! :yay:

I love it, too! It's like the first time we've found something perfect for Matt to wear! And yes, it really was fantastic!

The castle is BEAUTIFUL! OMG! I've seen other pictures of it lit up, but for some reason, your pictures made it look even more amazing! I really have to go to Disneyland for Christmas!

Aw thank you! It was pretty much breath-taking when we saw it all lit up. I mean, I know it looks amazing in Disney World, too, but seeing the castle in DL lit up was just amazing. You really should try to get a trip out there! It's amazing!

Yum, I'm so glad there's an Earl of Sandwich in Disneyland now! Not that I'm going anytime soon, but when I do, I'm happy to know there is one there! Ugh those heating lamps sound annoying!

I know! I was super excited there was an EoS there, and it was just as delicious as I remembered. And those heating lamps needed to go away; I was dying, hahaha. I hate humidity.

:rotfl2:

Oh man, putting my feet in the warm tub.. actually, my body as a whole, was just too amazingly nice. I would be terrified of doing cold ice water! Though it totally makes sense, so I think I'm going to remember this for when we're in Disney World. I actually bought Johnson's Foot Soap because it's supposedly really awesome for aching feet. Did the cold water soak help your feet though??

And that is funny we have the same problem! It's like, rest of my body is fine, feet are a mess. Matt can't handle his back, haha... Fortunately we're in Disney World for so long that we can take long breaks and not worry about missing out on anything.

YAY candy canes!!! I cannot believe people RUN to get them, that's crazy! It's good to know you guys just walked over and you still were able to get some from the first batch! :thumbsup2

Hahaha it was so funny to me that people booked it! Just walk at a brisk pace and you'll get your candy cane, people! No need to run!

Ugh, the Matterhorn does look kind of cramped, that's one of the things I don't like about Space Mountain, sitting in a weird single file row like that! I'm glad you went on though, even if it wasn't the best ride in the world!

It most definitely is cramped, even more so than Space Mountain Disney World. That being said, you have to check it out because it's a classic. We'll probably go on it again next trip to Disneyland.

I love that DLR still has some of the classic Disney rides like Mr. Toad and Snow White! Another reason to go there!

Yeah, it's kind of refreshing seeing those rides! And yes, another reason you must go!

Aww, your Mickey pancakes were adorable!

Haha they were super cute... and delicious.

OMG New Orleans square is amazing! Seriously, I can't even look at the Christmas decorations right now, they are putting me in a state of depression! I miss Christmas! I miss Disney! :sad1:

It really was beautiful. I hear you on the Christmas thing; we always get majorly sad about it being over... but that's why we plan our trip for a few weeks after Christmas is over.. It helps us snap out of that depression! When we get back from Disney World though, thaaat's going to be REALLY difficult. Wompwomp.

DLR's Space Mountain actually sounds much more enjoyable than WDW's! I mean, I like being scared, and thinking I could fall to my death at any moment in WDW's, but I think I'd like DLR's much better!

Okay, you will LOVE Space Mountain Disneyland. It has all of the fun of WDW's version, but way more comfortable and smooth. I really really loved it in Disneyland. And I loved sitting next to Matt, too!

Ugh I can't believe it was pouring so badly at California Adventure! I'm not sure how I'd feel about Paradise Pier either, but I'm glad you liked it! That tree that is full of red and gold ornaments is so pretty!

It was pretty poopy, honestly. I just wanted the rain to stop! Paradise Pier is definitely my least favorite area I'd say of any park, but I was more pleased with it than I thought I would be, if that makes sense... I think I just had low expectations of it, haha. But it's the least Disney-ish feeling area of a park. That tree was beautiful!

California Screamin' looks awesome! I LOVE roller coasters, so that will probably one of the first things I do when I go there!

Yeah, you will love California Screamin'. It's so so much fun to go on. I wish I could go on it right now!

Haha, I don't think I'd go on one of the swinging side of that ferris wheel either! Although I'm guessing my DH would insist! :rotfl:

OMG, no, just don't do it. It swings SO fast back and forth, and there are no restraints! I would be so scared being that high up! BAH.

Yay I can't wait to see the candy canes!

SOOOOON! Finally, haha.

THERE! Finally caught up! I've been reading on my phone but I haven't commented in a while and now I'm finished, yay! :yay:

THAT WAS EPIC! AND I loved it!! Glad you're caught up. I need to freakin' catch up on yours, STAT![

wait!!!! did you say trading vinyls?I thought you could only trade pins. Can you trade vinyls too?

No, you can totally trade Vinylmation, too! Certain stores have mystery boxes and clear boxes you can trade from! I know in Disneyland some people trade Vinylmation outside of D-Street, but I believe in Disney World's D-Street you can't. I tend to just stick to the stores; it's pretty fun!

Chapter Fourteen: “It smells like fresh bread around here!”
Day 2: November 30th, 2012

SO! As we left off, we were heading away from Paradise Pier and at this point, we were both kind of hungry. So we figured this would be the perfect opportunity to do a little exploring for a certain treat…

file-121.jpg

We decided on GHIRARDELLI!

file-122.jpg

It’s gotta be our favorite ice cream in Disney World, so when we heard there was a Ghirardelli in California Adventure, we both knew we’d go at some point.

I ordered my favorite, the Cookie Bottom sundae, while Matt ordered his Intense Dark Espresso Escape..

file-123.jpg

file-124.jpg

We sat outside under an awning area and enjoying our ice cream while getting out of the rain for a bit, which was nice. I seem to remember at this point the rain was letting up slightly, but it was still misting outside.

file-125.jpg

We did some people-watching for a bit, then decided to get going and check out Carsland.

As we got up to start heading over, Matt suddenly proclaimed “Man, it smells like fresh bread around here!”

I looked up and said, “Maybe that’s because we’re right next to a bakery where there’s sour dough bread?”

file-126.jpg

HAHAHA, we both started laughing so hard because the sign was seriously right in front of Matt’s face when he made that comment. You probably had to be there but we were both dying because of how perfect me seeing the sign and my response was. We still laugh at it now, hahaha, call us easily amused I guess.

We walked on and finally approached Carsland!

file-127.jpg

Let me preface this by saying that I have better photos for future posts of this area, but as you can see, the rain picked up again and my nice camera stayed put away. Let me also mention that I’m not a big Cars fan at all…

That being said, this area was IMPRESSIVE. And the Christmas decorations were spectacular, too!

But man, they really outdid themselves with this area in just transforming it to feel like you are truly in that movie.

file-128.jpg

We walked down and noticed there was more filming going on in this area, around where Mater was…

file-130.jpg

We decided to see what the wait time was for Radiator Springs Racers, in case the single rider line wasn’t too awful, but the ride was down. We thought about hanging around for a few minutes to see if it’d go back up, but then decided to just leave since we’d be shooting for riding it the next day.

We didn’t really know where we were going but we walked in the direction that we thought would take us towards the front of the park… and instead, ended up in A Bug’s Land instead!

file-131.jpg

This area is obviously for little kids, but we still liked walking around and seeing all of the theming. Again, the Christmas decorations were AWESOME. We saw the over-sized Christmas bulbs and obviously had to stop and get photos…

file-132.jpg

I have no idea what I was pointing at in this photo, but I look awfully confused…

file-133.jpg

Not any more!

file-134.jpg

I love all of the oversized lights and ornaments in this year, and thought they did a fantastic job with it…

file-135.jpg

After we walked out of the Bug’s Land area, we kept roaming over to Hollywood Land! This area reminded me a lot of Hollywood Studios, which was kind of weird and very déjà vu-ish. We wandered into Off the Page to look around at merchandise, and also to see if they traded Vinylmation, which they did!

I ended up with…

file-137.jpg

CRUSH! How adorable, and one I didn’t already have!

We left Off the Page and across the way, we spotted this:

file-138.jpg

HEY WAIT A SECOND, this is the WRONG Hollywood Studios, darn it!

But we were actually headed that way, because we both really wanted to check out Monsters Inc. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue!

file-139.jpg

As you can see, the line was really long…

file-140.jpg

Just kidding. We strolled through the queue with no wait obviously and were in our car in no time.

This has to be by far the best dark ride I’ve ever been on, seriously.

file-142.jpg

file-143.jpg

file-144.jpg

file-145.jpg

They did SUCH a fantastic job with every aspect of this ride. The animatronics just seemed to REAL to me, and Boo was especially adorable. I absolutely loved this and will most definitely go on it again during our next trip!

Chapter Fifteen: Matt must feed his caffeine addiction!
Day 2: November 30th, 2012

We headed out of “Hollywood Studios”, and Matt was REALLY jonesing for some caffeine. I’m telling you, that man loves his coffee more than anything. I was starting to drag a bit, as well, so we headed over to Fiddle, Fifer, & Practical Café on Buena Vista Street, which is also houses Starbucks!

file-146.jpg

Okay so, obviously when Disney announced they were going to put a Starbucks in Main Street Bakery in Disney World, the world ended and people threw a massive tizzy.

Not really, but there were a LOT of people super concerned about how this would go. So that being said, I’d heard about how it went in Disneyland and that it did not indeed take over, so I was most definitely both curious to see how it looked and also figured it couldn’t hurt to post some photos for those who care so deeply about Main Street Bakery…

For one, they offered all sorts of treats… both Disney-specific treats, and then also what you’d find at most Starbucks:

file-147.jpg

file-148.jpg

file-149.jpg

As you can see, typical Starbucks goodies, like their cake pops, scones, breads, etc.

file-150.jpg

file-151.jpg

We waited in line for a few minutes before ordering. I actually was still mega-full from our ice cream, so I opted to skip out on the coffee, but Matt needed his Quad Iced Venti Nonfat Vanilla Latte… Can you tell he’s a happy man?

file-153.jpg

As you can see, they use super cute cups that say Disney Parks on them, instead of the normal Starbucks cup. Honestly, walking in there, you’d never think it was a Starbucks because Disney knows what they’re doing. The theming all stayed the same, and the only difference was the addition of a Starbucks menu and Starbucks treats. THAT’S IT. The CM costumes are Disney, they are not in the usual black polo/green apron, etc.

So basically, people can just relax, Starbucks is not going to take over Main Street Bakery… If anything, it just means the Disney World is finally getting some GOOD coffee in the parks. And thank goodness for that!

Anyway, we headed off and decided to just look at some windows as we were on our way out of the park. I loved the little candy displays!

file-154.jpg

file-158.jpg

As we walked out, we stopped by Oswald’s again to pick up a t-shirt I’d seen earlier that I KNEW Matt would like, along with an Oswald pin… We ended up getting the same t-shirt and pin for my friend Rachel as a Christmas gift, too.

file-159.jpg

We left the parks and it was seriously downpouring. Blah. When we finally got to our hotel, I actually stopped to take a photo to show how hard it was raining…

file-160.jpg

When we got back, we seriously had like 10 Disney bags on our bed. It was kind of absurd. We decided to take a bunch of photos of everything we’d purchased that morning (FINALLY, I can hear some of you saying it!)… and also so I could change out of my soaking wet clothes.

Here is Matt and his Oswald t-shirt. This is probably one of the best t-shirts I’ve seen in any of the Disney parks.

file-161.jpg

file-162.jpg

It’s kind of hard to see, but this is the Oswald pin we picked up, as well…

file-163.jpg

Here is Matt with his adorable crocheted Oswald he picked up this morning…

file-164.jpg

OKAY, the moment you’d all been waiting for… THE CANDY CANES!

file-165.jpg

Hahaha, I’m sorry, but this is SO not even a good photo of it! I laughed so hard when I went through my photos and THIS is what I had! Wompwomp. So I actually went into my kitchen and took photos of the one we have left over, just to show you a better photo of them and also how huge they are..

1E8C68C4-6609-4A7B-8C95-C1F1ABE5DD51-6225-00000BDC0286ED66.jpg

I know it sounds silly but these things were beautiful. I was actually impressed we somehow made it back to the room with the candy canes completely unbroken! That was even after Matt squished the bag of candy canes on California Screamin’ and thought he broke them.

The second Matt sat down on the bed… he broke one of the candy canes. HAHAHAHA. I was laughing so hard because we made it all the way back with unbroken canes and then he sits down and somehow breaks it. He felt bad but I told him it was just an excuse for us to try it!

file-166.jpg

Okay, even though they’re $12.95, which is a LOT for a candy cane… They were the best candy canes I’ve ever had. Yeah, that good. I’m pretty sensitive to peppermint, in that I can only eat a candy cane for so long before the mint becomes too much and I throw it out. Not this candy cane. It was minty but not TOO minty, but also not too sweet. And it was almost chewy in the middle, if that makes sense.

Basically, they are REALLY good. That being said, unless you are planning on having more than just you and one other person eating it, DO NOT BUY MORE THAN ONE. We still have our second one sitting in our kitchen looking all pretty, but we haven’t even finished the first one! The $12.95 price tag is pretty hefty, but if you’re looking to splurge, this is pretty worth it in my opinion.

I totally had forgotten to take a photo of our cute Disneyland pin we’d picked up the day before, so I took this as an opportunity…

file-167.jpg

After we finally looked through all of our goodies, Matt apparently decided to throw the bags all over. Hahaha, ladies and gentlemen, my husband…

file-168.jpg

file-169.jpg

I decided to change and re-do my hair, and we prepared to head right back out the door. We had lots more to do! Matt put on his poncho and decided to play with it. He was in a funny mood, hahaha.

file-170.jpg

Matt sat down and I pointed out his poncho was on backwards… BUT THAT DIDN’T STOP HIM!

file-171.jpg

Haha, he continued to wear it inside out.

We walked out of the room and suddenly I realized I forgot to change the lens on my camera. Whoops! I wanted to put back on my 35mm prime lens because my kit lens just wasn’t cutting it for me.

So back to the room we went, and Matt was a good husband for not getting annoyed with me.

Next, we soldier on with our epic second day, enjoying more food and our Holiday Time Tour!

Dani, I had no idea it even rained that much in a YEAR in California?!??! I am pretty pleased with the review of the Starbucks...I LOVE Starbucks, but love Mainstreet Bakery too. I'm glad to hear they added it so seamlessly at DLR! Ah the changing of lenses. I had to giggle. Rey was super patient with me as well and I am thinking I'm going to just put my 35 on and leave it on the first few days until we hit AK on my trip with Savannah. I just don't want to mess with it this trip!

I just came across your trip report and have read the whole thing so far in just 2 sittings. It is SO FUN! And you and your DH are great!

We have been to WDW the past 2 Decembers and are heading West to DLR this next December. I can't wait! We will be there about the same time you were and it seems like the crowds have not been too bad. :) Hopefully that crazy rain will not repeat next year. That was a bummer.

Thanks for sharing your trip report and I look forward to the rest! Oh, and have an absolute blast at WDW. The New Fantasyland is great!

Holy cow, you weren't a-kidding! Those are HUGE! You could use it to herd sheep or hook unruly children. Love the Oswald stuff!

Awesome trip report. I look forward to reading more. I love all your pictures.

WHAT? There's a Ghirardelli IN DCA? That's too cool. I've never even been there at DTD though, hahah woops. Shows how much I go to DTD. (Never.)

OMG the whitewall tire WREATHS. That is just perfection if I've ever seen it.

Hahaha I don't even care if Bug's Land is for kids. I'm in love with that movie and I must go ride all the rides whenever I get to DLR!

Mike and Sulley to the Rescue looks so cool! So it's just a dark ride? You just ride through it slowly or is it faster?

The whole Main Street Bakery Starbucks debacle annoys me so much. People sure know how to overreact. Nobody ever said that the whole of Main Street would be torn down to look like New York City with Starbucks every five feet, now did they? I mean Lord. It's fine. Hahhaha. I'm glad we're in agreement here.

OMG THE SECOND CANDY DISPLAY PICTURE REMINDS ME OF WRECKIT RALPH!!!!!!!! :hyper:

Woah. Those are definitely some big candy canes. Hahah. What is with the size of this comment? Good grief. Apparently I have a lot to say.

Girl, you said they were huge but until I saw you holding it I didn't realize! HUGE! Now I see why you still have one left.
Oh my the rain! Glad you were still both able to have fun with it!
Thanks for posting about Starbucks. I knew there was no way Disney would just plop a Starbucks on Main Street! And while I don't like coffee at all I do like their goodies...

The candy canes are huge! I agree that most candy canes are too strong. But the Disneyland one sounds delish!

I absolutely love the stuffed Oswald. My ds would love to have one of those.

I had no idea DL had a Monster Inc attraction. My crew would love that. Monsters inc was my oldest DD favorite movie for a long time.

So SO So excited I just found your TR! I had so much fun reading your WDW TR last year as I was planning my very first WDW Trip I took in May. I'm a DLR vet, so reading this has been awesome! Will definitely be following along for the rest of it!

Also, those candy canes look unbelievable! And I don't even really like candy canes!

What a great TR! I was there the exact same days! I keep looking just incase I am in a photo!

LOVE the pictures of all the decorations. I didn't get a bunch as I forgot my SD card in the computer at home!LOL Opps!

Love this report!

Thank you so much! It's been a blast to write! :goodvibes

Um, NEITHER DID I! Hahaha. This was absurd. I guess we just brought along the rain with us, wompwomp.

Yes, they did a great job with Starbucks! Main Street Bakery will be a-okay... with good coffee, too!

Hahaha, Matt was a good sport. My kit lens was just blah that day and I wanted my nice 35mm back again! I'll probably stick with that on this trip, as well.

Thank you so much! I'm so happy that you found my TR AND are enjoying it! Matt and I are total goobers but we truly are best friends, and we both love to laugh!

You are going to LOVE DLR in December! Seriously, it's just amazing! The crowds aren't too bad... until.. well, we'll get to that, haha. Hopefully the rain doesn't happen again, I just couldn't believe how ridiculous it was. But we still made the most of it and had a great time!

Thank you, we are SO excited to see New Fantasyland! I'm very excited to eat at Be Our Guest for dinner, too! WOOHOO!

Holy cow, you weren't a-kidding! Those are HUGE! You could use it to herd sheep or hook unruly children. Love the Oswald stuff!

HAHAHA, your comment literally made me laugh out loud in the middle of work! Heading sheep or hooking unruly children. What's scary is that you probably could use the candy cane for that very purpose! Hahaha. I should have tested it on some unsuspecting misbehaving child in the park... and then I would have been arrested.

Awesome trip report. I look forward to reading more. I love all your pictures.

Thanks so much! I can't wait to share more, too! And I'm glad you enjoy the photos. I seriously stop and taking photos of everything in the parks, haha. Sometimes it drives Matt nuts but it's just how I am!

Heck yeah there's a Ghirardelli in DCA! It's awesome and makes getting my ice cream fix that much easier. So good! I can't wait to get a sundae in DTD; we actually spend a nice amount of time there usually!

Yeah, the details they put into the decorations were fantastic. I was very impressed.

Hahaha, they have a LOT of rides and they all look adorable!

Mike and Sulley is basically just a dark ride, and mostly slow, though sometimes you turn a corner or whatever.. but that's it. I loved it though. They did such a good job with that ride.

We are most definitely in agreement about the Starbucks ordeal. It will be okay, Disney wouldn't stick a normal Starbucks on Main Street, hahaha. You really can barely tell until you look at the menu, seriously.

HECK YES! Such a good observation. :thumbsup2

They really were huge. And psh, I don't mind. I enjoy the long comments!

Haha I KNOW! They are seriously ginormous! I'll make my way through that next one at some point...

Merrr the rain was not fun but we just dealt with it. The bad part is that Florida has a back up if it rains; everything is under a roof or awning for those terrible downpours. Disneyland, not so much, because California doesn't typically get that kind of rain. Blergh.

Yeah, Main Street will be totally fine. Though I AM sad that MSB will be closed while we're there! Wompwomp. That's my only beef with Starbucks going in! :rotfl:

I used to not like coffee, but then I moved to Seattle and became a barista for 4 1/2 years.

Yeah, they are massive but so delicious!

That Oswald is so so neat. We'd originally spotted a girl walking with it the night before and we were both like "WE MUST BUY THAT".. We might have also bought him a friend, too. :thumbsup2

The Monsters Inc. ride is fantastic! I seriously loved it and thought it was adorable. Plus, again, the animatronics were great!

YAY! I'm so glad you found my TR AND that you're here and commenting! :goodvibes ANDDDD that I'm not failing the DLR vets on my TR reporting, either! Haha.

The candy canes are super tasty and honestly, beautiful. I know that sounds silly but seeing how they make it... makes them even more impressive than I thought!

What a great TR! I was there the exact same days! I keep looking just incase I am in a photo!

LOVE the pictures of all the decorations. I didn't get a bunch as I forgot my SD card in the computer at home!LOL Opps!

Thank you so much! That is so funny you were there at the same time; it would be hilarious if you're in the background of one of the photos! You must tell me if you end up in one, hahaha.

I've totally done that with my SD card before; TOTALLY THE WORST. I need to make sure I take mine out of my iMac at home so I don't forget it for our upcoming trip to Disney World! Thanks for the reminder. ;)

As we got up to start heading over, Matt suddenly proclaimed “Man, it smells like fresh bread around here!”

I looked up and said, “Maybe that’s because we’re right next to a bakery where there’s sour dough bread?”

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Ahhh, now I really really REALLY want to go at Christmastime!!!! Bug's Land looks freaking ADORABLE. We loved that area on our trip with DS because there is so much for him to do, and the little touches are just so cute. The lights and huge ornaments look awesome!!

LOVE the Monsters Inc. ride. One of my favorite Disney movies transformed into an awesome dark ride! Also am loving Roz's Santa hat. :santa: Awesome touch!!

That rain is CRAZY!! Does it rain that much in California in a whole year?! As I was reading the DL board preparing for our trip, I remember one poster saying it never occurred to them to ever bring a poncho or umbrella to DL because it never rains there. Clearly, he needs to be introduced to your TR! :rotfl:

The first picture of the candy canes didn't do it justice. The one holding it in your hand...OMG THEY ARE GINORMOUS! At least I know if we ever do take that Christmas DL trip I'm dreaming of, we only need one of the $12.95 candy canes for the three of us to split. :lmao:
