Contemporary hotel question

I need the boards opinion. Do you feel it is worth the extra money ($ per night) to stay in the Tower rooms vs. the Garden rooms? Both look nice and I am sure offer the same level of service etc. I understand there is a bit more "inconvenience" (walking) to get to the main hotel section for transportation, food etc.

Also, to toss a wrench in the thinking process we will have our 2.5 years old twins boys with us.

Is it really worth the extra $125-$150 per night to stay in the A frame building?

Also, does the Contemporary have a heat pool or any of the other monorail hotels? My sig. other seems to think the Grand FL. has a heated pool. We are traveling in during the winter time. :confused3

thanks!

Unless you have a theme park view, I would say "no." Do you have a double stroller for the boys?

There is a heated pool. We traveled in late November and swam several times. Of course, we are Yankees. LOL

Yes, we have a double umbrella type stroller that we are going to bring or we might bring our BOB stroller, more comfy for the twins. :thumbsup2

That is great news about the pool, interesting as I never would have thought Orlando (spec. disney properties would have/need a heated pool). The water parks are all closed in the winter months, right?

no..one water park will be open the other will be rehabbed. we had and awesome time at blizzared beach one january..it was very quiet :goodvibes

Not worth it unless you really want the view. The garden rooms are just as nice. It's more convenient than BLT IMHO - both require you to walk to the A frame to hop on the monorail.

Hi OP. I have twins that are just 3 and we went many times during the toddler years. The CR will be a fantastic choice for your family. Unless you want the view, the walk is short to the garden view rooms. The rooms are the same size and offer essentially the same amenities although you may get a patio on some of the first floor rooms but they do not have balconies. All of the tower rooms have balconies but to me, it's an easy trade off for the money difference.

The pool is heated but isn't warm enough for our taste in the cooler months (that applies to all WDW resort pools). In case you weren't aware, the easiest way to get to the MK from the CR is via the walkway. No monorail to wait for. Just a 7-10 minute walk. So convenient. We have a BOB duallie and love it for WDW but we drive to DHS and AK. It is a beast on the buses but I hate cheap strollers. We bought a double maclaren to use in WDW and we still bring it and do use it when we take the buses but nothing compares to the ease and comfort of BOB. Happy planning and I think you will love the CR!

We had a suite in the Garden Wing last year and it was nice. I want to try a room in the tower (we love the theme park view), but I was not unhappy with the suite. The walk to get there is relatively short (although the walk to our room was a little more sprawling since we were at the end of the building), but we liked the space, the view, the easy access to MK. We even caught park of the electrical water parade at night when we were in the room.

The only thing I would suggest is that if you're getting ready in the morning, make sure the curtains are closed when you're coming out of the bathroom or you might have a boatload of tourists passing by your room at that moment lol!

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT, WE STAYED ON THE 14TH FLOOR WATCHED THE FIREWORK'S EVERY NIGHT, WE HAVE STAYED AT THEM ALL BUT BEACH CLUB AND SO FAR THIS ONE AND THERE PEOPLE ARE NUMBER ONE... GOD BLESS FROM ONDEP MISSOURI:love:

Hope that did not happen to you!

Thanks all for the replies.
