I saw that on the rundisney site.. but what happens after 7am?

Last year my family tried to get there after 7 and the lot was still closed. So they had to go with the instructions I posted before. Park at MK and take the monorail over. Tell her to allow plenty of time- my family missed me last time.

I figured what the he** If I'm going out, I'm going out with a bang!

Once I'm done with the run, I'm gonna have someone kick me in the gut.

I'll be glad to be next after Barry.

And I'll send pictures from...Delaware.

What, not just the damn bridge?

Since we are showing Cindy's place, I thought I would throw out this pic of the "cute little castle" on the other coast. Crash is looking forward to doing a Coast to Coast sometime and run down the first Main Street.

This is on the bucket list. Never been to the west coast on vacation or to DL. It's definitely something we need to get done before the kiddos are out of the house. Nice pic!

We've never seriously talked about it, mostly because it would cost so much to get out there.

I have a serious marathon question. I read that the road around Epcot is closed from 5-7am. Do busses start running to Epcot at 7 am for spectators? I'm trying to figure out how/when my DW is going to get to Epcot by 7:45. :confused3

Athletes and spectators should plan on arriving at Epcot® by 4:00 a.m. on Half Marathon or Marathon race morning. The main entrance of Epcot® from World Drive will be closed to all traffic from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on the mornings of the Half Marathon and Marathon. All traffic will be directed to the Magic Kingdom® Park Parking Lot where they will be transported to Epcot® via monorail. Traffic will not be affected for the Disney Family Fiesta 5K featuring the Three Caballeros race

I saw that on the rundisney site.. but what happens after 7am?

I don't think they have Busses that head over to Epcot from the resorts until after 8:00 that morning. Best bet, unfortunately, is to do the monorail from the TTC.

This could be Chris ,Scott and I very soon. We may need some bail money lol

From here it is not that bad. The one time we looked it was only about $450 more than Florida for the flights. The problem is the whole changing planes thing. Don't really like it much. Direct flights are a lot more expensive and FL is a lot closer. Not sure what the prices are now, but it's definitely something we would like to do eventually.

The wife has relatives in Oregon. Maybe we'll use that as an excuse. Fly to Oregon(it has to be cheaper than CA) and then find a cheap way over to DL for 4-5 days and then either home or find a cheaper flight from another state and visit there as well before leaving. It's worth a shot.

When are you traveling? I know you mentioned it earlier, was it August? What time frame does the PIN cover? I am hoping to get one that we can use in August. Either the 35% off or free dining.

August 19-30 is the proposed dates. There are three days either side for travelling, plus an extra day beforehand to take the girls to Cocoa Beach. Pin covers 1/2-3/24, 4/21-5/22 and 8/11-9/28. All said, if I can get Free Dining, I'd grab it in a minute, and upgrade from POP to Riverside.

Just saw on the news NASA is selling off it's unwanted/unneeded items. One item for sale is the launchpad from the shuttle launches. Anyone want to go in with me on this?:confused3

I barely use the one I already have..

I'm in! The problem is we live 945 miles away from each other. (Yeah, I Google Mapped it). At a top speed of 1mph, it will take just over 5 1/2 weeks to make the trip. Not counting stopping for potty breaks. We're really going to have to work hard on getting a custody agreement in place.

Just hop out, do you business and walk back and hop on while it's moving....

I guess if we drove to Portland Maine like we normally do, we could probably get a reasonable price. Hmmm, time to rethink the summer trip maybe.

Yeah - that's Carl in the back....he won't give up the bacon in his pocket to lure the dog over to get the keys. Bacon hoarder Carl!

:rotfl2:

As long as it's only jail and they don't ban you from the parks, everything will be OK. Just text Randall, he'll bring the penguins to help bail you out.

Don't give it to them Carl! The bacon is too important. Keep it for yourself or use it for the race this weekend. I bet if you dangle it in front of the guys they'll beat there best times. How fast can you run?:lmao:

We may be there at the same time. We were looking at mid to late August. I hope they have free dining or at least I get a PIN at some point. Once I know I am going, we'll have to compare our info and find a time to meet up. Good luck with the free dining. We would most likely either stay at POR or POFQ. The kids really enjoy FQ.

Just a fun thing at POR. My kids always head out at night and catch the frogs at Riverside. They hang out in the shudders, on the columns and around the lights. They run around a couple of the buildings and have a blast. Not sure if the kids like that sort of thing, but it kept mine busy for hours.:thumbsup2

Hmmmm...Portland? That's close enough for me to drive to as well. We usually head out from Manchester, NH. Let me know if you end up looking and see good deals out of Portland. I bet I could get permission to go to sunny CA.

I totally agree. I even get a little dust in my eye too.. ;)

I cannot wait for Saturday. I was wondering if the sun would be out by then...

I'm sure that will be an awesome experience. pixiedust:
Sunrise is going to be about 7:20. My guess is that Corral B will start a little before 6. At a 10 minute mile you'll hit mainstreet a little before 7 am. My guess is that you'll hit main street with it light-ish but the sun won't be completely up.

We've always used the monorail to get around during the race. Your family should be prepared for getting around to take much longer than normal.

I'll send you a frew from the dream now...

Hey it's that teen club that no one ever seems to visit.

Check the sig.
I've already got pictures from the Magic.
And from the Wonder as well.

But if it's an arms race you want...
;)

We want pictures of the boats not pictures of your arms.

I'll be glad to be next after Barry.

I'm trying to talk DW into letting me do the Dumbo Challenge out there this year. With that I'd run 4 races to get 7 medals and shirts.

Must do for any Disney fan. It sounds corny but this was Walt's place. And with the DCA redo, you have two great parks to enjoy.

I am sure there will be a few more of us in the back trying to chip away at the bars. I don't think the Whispering Canyon will be the same after Thursday.

Finally put the laundry in the washer and may even pack tonight. It is a rare occurrence that I pack before the night I am leaving. Guess I am excited to get out of here.

We've thought about Manchester simply because you can pick up Southwest there. I think it is about another hour and a half drive.
