We are booked for LM rooms in June - however, my GD is afraid of Ursula. What statues are at the other two buildings and will it be possible to avoid her for the most part?

Also, pool towels - are they provided?

Thanks,

The Ursula statue is huge. I'm really not sure if she can be avoided. Maybe someone else will have some ideas. Pool towels aren't provided, but you can take towels from your room and ask mousekeeping for more.

depending on where your room is you have to pass her because she's right by the elevator (facing the courtyard pool area takes you by her and to get too the elevators from the courtyard means walking by her feet)

she creeped me out.....:scared1:

We are staying at the in the little mermaid room for 2 nights in Feb but we have 4 days at Disney World (staying the other days with family in orlando) we bought the park tickets and resort package all togther from the disney site. My question is will we still have all the benefits like extra magic hours and such on the days we go to the park but are not staying at the resort?

If you aren't staying at the resort during the extra two days, you shouldn't get the perks (EMH, free parking, etc).

At least that's how I think it works.

No, access to EMH is tied to your resort room key, which is dated. This has nothing to do with your park ticket, even if they are on your room key.

The LM buildings are Ursula (building 7), Ariel (building 8), and Triton (building 9). The easiest way to avoid Ursula is to stay in the Triton building and enter the building through the first stairwell as you come toward the LM section.

If you want to swim/walk around the LM section, Ursula is unfortunately unavoidable.

Planning a trip for 15, four rooms. AoA is 97.20 more then Pop, where our family stayed in August. Is it worth it? Dh and I are leaning towards yes for the new hotel and new experiences, what do the experts think?

This updated value resort review by Josh/easywdw may be of use to you. He does still recommend Pop as the best overall value, but there's a lot of detail to consider for the best choice for you/your group.

That's going to be a very individual decision. We recently got back from a 9 night stay. I'm glad we did it. The resort is gorgeous, and staying there really is the best way to see it. If you're staying in the suites, then it's a slam dunk. Stay there. My only real issue was th walk from the Little Mermaid rooms. We're park commandos and were on our feet non-stop for 10 days. We'll be back at the Pop again next time so we can get a room closer to the buses and food.

We just stayed 3 nights in Little Mermaid and while the rooms are nice and we loved the theming, it is a hike to dining, transporation, and the lobby. If you have your own car and don't plan on eating often in the food court, you should be fine. If you are in one of the other sections, you will be closer to the lobby, but from what I understand, the suites are about the same price as a moderate resort.

How many of the family suites are wheelchair acessible, and are they on the ground floor?

thanks for the help!:thumbsup2

I wish! They are actually quite a bit more than moderate resort. Especially when the mods have discounts....

DH and I just stayed in a suite with my parents and they're very roomy. The suites basically have three rooms plus two bathrooms: One private bedroom with a private bathroom, then the living area/table-bed area with convertible bed and convertible sofa and the second bathroom. Check out one of the many YouTube videos of the suites for a look at them to see how roomy they are.

Ok, I checked out a few videos, they definitely look roomy. I do have a question: is there a curtain or anything that pulls between the table bed section and the "living" area section with the pull-out couch? It doesn't look like there is in the videos, but I couldn't tell for sure. Also, is the door to the suite located near the table area? And I assume that's the only door, right? (there's not one leading out to the hallway from the master bedroom?)

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!! :)

There's no curtain between the two living areas but the layout keeps them feeling separate. Also the door to the private bedroom is by the table and chairs, plenty of space though.

Hi all! I'm planning a trip for my family of 2 adults and 2 children (3 and 5) for 4/2 to 4/7/13 and although the AoA family suite sounds like a great idea, the rate is not something I can easily afford ($477/day). I couldn't find any special discount available on the reservation site. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Can someone give me a hint?

We originally checked out Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort because of the space and cost, but that is also unavailable for our dates. For a reasonably priced one-bedroom suite (preferably with at least a kitchenette and pools with sandy beaches), which resorts would be our best bets, either in or outside of Disney? Or are we simply too late in the game to get anything of that criteria?

We are considering AoA for our next stay. We have stayed at POP 3 times and loved the atmosphere, thought the food court was fine but a little crowded, didn't mind the busses, only complaint was the beds weren't as comfy. We have also stayed at POR, CBR, CSR, and WL. I am weird but of all our stays POP seemed the most disney to me. My son has never stayed at a value and I think he would like the larger than life icons. He does swim but really didn't take advantage of slides. He did love the pirate pool at CBR though. My biggest issue is that we are a family of 3 and only have the one son. DH thinks the little mermaid rooms will be to girly but I think who cares we are at disney. Also think we can enjoy the theming of the outdoor areas regardless of what room we are in. I know DS would love cars theme but I can't see paying more than double for the three of us just for a different room theme at the same resort. What do you guys think? LM to girly?
