2013 honeymoon itinerary thoughts and suggestions???????

Please let me know by answering the question whether you prefer the filet an/or New York strip steaks at Le Cellier or Yachtmas for dinner? Also, you do not have to have tried both. If you only have tried one please list in the comments which steak you are voting on. Please if you have not commented on my honeymoon itinerary please comment on that.

Congratulations on your wedding and honeymoon! DH and I got married and honeymooned in Disney and one of our favorite meals of our trip was at the Grand Floridian Cafe. It was not busy at all, so really quiet, really romantic and all of the staff treated us so well. The food was amazing and we talk often about how nice it was there. I hope you have a great trip! :goodvibes

Based upon other people's suggestions in other threads now thinking of changing Le Cellier to either Yachtsmans or Shulas. What do you suggest of the three steak houses for the best wine, pina coladas, and filet mignon and New York Strip Steak?

You gotta be careful with so many dining reservations. There is no way you are going to be able to do a sit down breakfast, lunch, and dinner and also have enough time to enjoy the parks. That is a TON of food, I'd recommend pushing your dinner ressies to past 8 PM if you're going to have lunch around noon. If you have lunch at 12 pm and dinner at 5 pm, that gives you like 3.5 hours between meals max. Are you going to be hungry for a huge meal every 3.5 hours?

Yes that is the schedule we eat at home. Everyday except our last day we only have two table service meals; with either breakfast or lunch being something counter service and light. Thanks for the tip though.

Do you eat massive meals every 3 hours at home? One day you have rainforest cafe at 1:30 and Sanaa at 5:00. Assuming you finish eating at rainforest cafe at 3:00, you will basically have an hour and then need to head all the way over to animal kingdom lodge to eat again. You will still be full from lunch! I think you'd enjoy your dining experiences more if you are actually hungry. I mean, if you truly are hungry to consume 1,000 calories or more every 2 hours then great, but I don't know anyone like that.

Yeah someone else said that too. Not sure what time we are getting in on 6/3, so I wanted to be safe and made lunch for 1:30. We will eat a light lunch and probably split an entree at RFC; or I might make it earlier (after we book our flight info); or just cancel it (though my wife to be really wants to go there; and I really want to go to Sanaa).

RFC and Sanaa are not on the same level, at all. Do yourself a favor and walk your bride through the rainforest cafe and look around. Skip the meal and go have your dinner at Sanaa. I, too, recently noticed the timing of that first day's meals and thought there was no way for that to work. BTW, Sanaa serves lunch so you could just go straight for that...

Thanks but definitely want to go to Sanaa for dinner that night just in cast our flight coming in gets severely delayed.

We all love it. Normally, I am not a fan of ultra high priced steak houses, since for some dang reason my dad can ALWAYS grill a steak in the backyard even better (this id the one culinary thing I can't top him at...)But even I can do a decent job and hate to pay SO nuch for something so simple...grilled meat. But for a honeymoon- who cares!

I find the food at le cellier fine...wife and I were planning a "date night" for this years trip and were trying to decide between Shuals, Yachtsmans, Flying Fish, and BlueZoo....we decided against steak (as we're already eating at Le Cellier and will likely eat steak a few more times during the the trip.

That sais, I'm sure Shula's or Yachtsmans will be a much more intimate setting- even IF the the food at LC is on par. Both are said to be great- both have their fans...I'venot eaten at either, but I have spent time in the lounge over looking yachtsman, I'd guess that Shula's while "masculine" would be better for a honeymoon meal>

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding/honeymoon! My fiance and I will be disneymooning in June as well, and I am so excited! Three of our ADRs are also for Narcoossee's, V&A's and Le Cellier.. we have never been to any of them so we are looking forward to trying them! :yay:

Awesome Plutonic. Happy honeymoon to the two of you. When in June are you going? If I am going before you, I will let you know my thoughts on the three restaurants. Are you doing anything else real romantic or special on your dinseymoon? I am jealous you will be staying at the Grand Floridian that has always been on my wish list. Please let me know what you think of the hotel after staying there.

Hi! Congrats on your upcoming Disneymoon! My husband and I recently Disneymooned this past August! It was awesome. We stayed at BC and loved it! I will just offer our opinions here. We had the DxDDP and it was intense. We had LOTS of food, too much really. But it was offered "free" when we were visiting so we took it. Since you are not on a dining plan you'll be free to order what you want and won't be stuck with appetizer, entree, and dessert. Then in turn, hopefully, will not be as full as me and my husband were!

It was awesome getting to eat at a lot of signature restaurants, and places we might not have gone if we didn't have the dining plan. Some of our favorites:

Flying Fish- This was BY FAR the best meal we had! It was the first night, and nothing ever lived up to it! We had an incredible waiter, so nice, and gave us lots of freebies which never hurts! The potato wrapped red snapper is what I got...it was my favorite thing I ate the whole trip! If you are fans of seafood, this is a must do!

Le Cellier- We went into it not knowing what to think, b/c I had researched and found a lot of mixed reviews on here, but we loved it! The food was spectacular. However, liked a pp said, you do kind of sit on top of the people beside you...but we still didn't mind, the atmosphere was great!

Via Napoli- DELICIOUS. Food was great. Got a pitcher of sangria at 11:30 am on a stormy day, made the day so much better...only in Disney!

Cali Grill- It was wonderful. I don't think it will be open in June :(, but we got a great window seat, they gave us champagne, and after we watched the fireworks on the observation deck.

Those were probably our top 3. We also really liked Restaurant Marrakesh, Kouzzina (ate there for BF), Mama Melrose's, and Yak & Yeti.

We did not really care for:

Coral Reef- it was okay, just not too spectacular with all those other restaurants available in Epcot.

Cinderella's Royal Table-...kids everywhere (I know it's Disney!) loud, not great food. But we felt like we needed to do it just to say we did. However we got a really good window spot and it was fun meeting all the princesses.

Brown Derby- Probably our least favorite meal. The food was really not that good to us, and our waitress was pretty bad (I know that can totally change an experience). Plus it seemed like we had to wait a long time before we got seated with an ADR (I know sometimes it's expected, but compared to our other waits, it was really long.)

Just some general tips: have fun and slow down! Don't feel like you have to do everything, just chill and do what's important to you. We love Epcot and the WS, so we tried to drink around the world...yeah it's pretty hard, but we had fun trying! We also did the Wine Walk, it's a fav of ours. Germany, France, and Italy participate, $20 per person (or you can split one) for 2 tastings of wine at each of those countries, so 6 total. Note- some countries will give way more than others! WEAR BUTTONS! I was crazy and bought Just Married buttons off ebay b/c they are very hard to find, but if you can't get those atleast get some happily ever after ones! These will cause you to get TONS of congratulations and sometimes other little surprises!

A big thing I would recommend is purchasing the Photopass+. It is expensive, like $170. But so worth it! You get all your photographs from the trip, alllll of them on a cd or downloaded to your computer, along with the digital copies of all the ride photographs! This was so fun for us to just make silly faces on the rides and know we weren't going to have to pay a ridiculous price for a copy. Also, it's really hard to take pictures of yourself, much easier to have the photopass CM's do it for you! Warning- they will ask you to kiss, alot. If they know you're on your honeymoon, so if you're uncomfortable with this, probably not a good idea! :)

Anyways, this is the world's longest post, hope you have a great time!! (You will!) :yay:

Thanks Valdawg. I did not now about the wine walk. I am a big white wine drinker. So, I might participate in it. I am up in the air about photopass or photopass+ (leaning more towards not doing them and taking pictures on our own cameras).

I sent you a message as you requested my input from my trip report. here are a few other things.

*I recommend no more than 2 reservations a day ( i usually only do breakfast and dinner)

*I recommend photopass highly and paying for the disc ahead of time so you get a discount. This way you can add the cute disney accents on the pictures and those are priceless

*Like I said in my message I would be wary of trying to plan every minute. you will find your self stressed to meet your itinerary and you may possibly lose sight of your romantic honeymoon and why you are there in the first place. especially if you get thrown off your itinerary.

*also it seems to me that you are planning many meals and not planning enough time to just enjoy being in the parks. some of the best times i have had are just walking and enjoying the fact that I am in disney.

*questions: has your wedding passed yet? is there any disney in your wedding?

Teresa

Thanks Icecoldpenguin we are renting s pontoon boat and getting massages. We are "get up and go" type people. That is whey the first few days we have a lot packed in. Then from Friday on we slow things down with less planned to also get some relaxation in the trip.

let me know about your wedding and if it has disney themes in it or hints of disney. There is a very special reason I am asking and also when is the wedding?

Our wedding is June 1. The fist day of our honeymoon is actually also me wife to be birthday. We are thinking of incorporating Disney in our wedding a little; just not totally sure how yet.

Even though we have a lot of meals planned at table service restaurants (2 a day) we are big foodies, and also I planned at least an hour for each table service meal and plugged into touring plans personalized touring plans each day and it still showed we had enough time to do all the attractions we want in the parks.
