Where to leave the car

We are family of nine traveling to the port from AKL, cruising, then going back to BLT - We reserved a van from Happy Limo to really take the issue/price out of transferring that many of us. All but one of us are flying in - one nephew who lives in GA is driving.

Where can we leave his car? We really want him to travel with us as that is the reason for the family reunion aspect, and he will be the ninth person in a 10 passenger van.

The port is an obvious answer. But I was hoping for something closer - even if we have to pay (but would prefer not to of course). Does anyone have any other suggestions or have you personally done anything differently??

When we have had a WDW resort stay both before and after our cruise, WDW gave us a parking pass that allowed us to park the car on their property till the end of the second stay. This allowed the car to remain at WDW while we cruised, which is NOT normally allowed if you are staying just before or just after the cruise. We were asked to park in a remote section of the lot while we were gone. If you park on WDW property with an expired pass, you might be towed.

There are some paid lots near the port, but if I'm reading your post right, you want to stay together as a group from WDW.

When was this? We are arriving on a Friday - cruising on a Sunday - coming back on a Thursday and staying until Sunday. Do you think this would qualify as a resort stay? We are doing parks on both ends.

I don't care if he has to park in the last row of some lot - but yes - we want him to be able to go with all of us because he is one of the family that has never cruised before. Do I just ask AKL CMs at check in?

If you are going to try, AKL/AKV will be the best option of your two resorts. AKL/AKV has more parking available when compared to BLT.

A call to MS yesterday told to try BLT since we are going there second. Anyone else leave a car at WDW before and have a comment?

It counts as a resort stay if you are checked in to a WDW resort. The CM at the desk had to call over a supervisor to do it for us, but the supervisor had no problem at all. I just told them that I called about it before we drove down--didn't have any proof of the phone call. I'm with the others--the pass was issued by our first resort, and in your case AKL has way more parking.
