Miss, Welcome back!!:cool1: Sounds like you had a great trip AND meeting Iheart as well! How great that she pulled off that covert CL operation .... .perfect for you all and of course for Miss M. :flower3: how many cookies were heisted? :) Good thing the evidence disappeared!!

Agree that the Osbourne lights are amazing!! Hope to see them again this December. BTW, your man is definitely a keeper Miss! Our brains are ready to be picked! :goodvibes

Think we will put Beaches & Cream on our Tribute list too

WOOHOO after trying every day to move this trip by one stupid day, I was finally able to do it! Since the rates changed I has figured that I would proabably cost me about $40 (if I was lucky and not be subject to the new weekend rates) based on the newweekday rates, but nope she was able to keep my rates in place and just move it the one day :worship: So now the kids will miss 3 days in a row which is what I really wanted! I am so happy :goodvibes
:goodvibes

Now to go replan my days and ADR's

Back last night. Kiddo off to school this morning. Now, I'm just sitting here trying to make my brain work again. :surfweb: So far, it's not working as planned.

Missed you ladies! :grouphug: Sorry for not checking in more. Those of you leaving or about to, safe travels. Thanks for all the kind words about Miss M. She did save the half of that milkshake for later. :confused3 Seriously. I guess at that point it was more of a chocolate milk-shake. So, we had two tributes to our lovely Sarah: once at Beaches & Cream and once over at The Fountain (in the Dolphin).

What a whirlwind. Shew. (I love these little short trips though; they seem to work best for us.) As for the YC, wow... what can I say? Now, it doesn't have the grand lobby of lots of the other hotels but it's a serious contender now for us between YC and BC. (I think it'd boil down to which had a standard view available. We spend absolutely zero time out on the balcony so it doesn't really matter about the view.) The Christmas decor was still up at the YC&BC as well as over at the Boardwalk Inn. Very pretty. Back to the YC: It was very quiet and calm compared to the hustle and bustle of the BC. Not much between them though for us, I'd say. Since we walked over to the S&D twice to eat and it's a bit closer to the dock, it's got those two things as minor advantages to us but staying there at either the BC or the YC is just the bee's knees for our little trio.

We didn't do MK this trip since the thought of those crowds put us off. We did HS one day and Epcot on another with a down day in between. Saw the Osborne Lights for the first time which were FABULOUS! I was not feelin' the Christmas "thing" being that it was after Christmas. (It's a weird thing... come the evening of the 25th I'm kinda feel like the air has been let out of my Christmas balloon.  Mind you, the trees are still up. :rolleyes1 ) Anyhow, I wasn't feelin' it... until I saw those lights at HS. WOW! Lovely. :santa:

Another first for us was Fantasmic! Jen: You've GOTTA take the girls next time; they'll LOVE it. Just like our RCing experts said, we only got in the line roughly 30 mins beforehand and had perfect seats. Even with the park being super-packed. It was very worth it.

It was so lovely meeting I_Heart. She pulled a Mission Impossible and snuck us up to CL :tiptoe: so Miss M could get one of those beloved sugar cookies with the MM sprinkles on them. What do they put in those anyhow? :scratchin She finds them totally irresistible. Thanks for the pin too, I_Heart! She's put it up on our board already. :goodvibes (Wanted to pick your brains about the parks and resorts more but didn't want to hog your time.)

The weather was pretty wonderful, for the most part. We got to swim twice. Only drizzly-rained on us one day, only a bit chilly on one day, too.

So, the hubs ... I adore that man ... he up and says to me when we were both being mopey before getting on the ME to take us back to the airport yesterday, "And here's where we get on the bus to plan our next trip." *SWOON* I'm not sure when ... but he wants to go back as much as I do.

Can you smell the wood burning, ladies? I'm already getting in "plan-mode." :hyper: :rotfl: Be prepared to have your brains picked over time of year, etc. :thumbsup2

Glad to hear you made it back safely and enjoyed your time! I am really contemplating switching to either YC or BC but leaning more towards YC. We have stayed at the Poly the past 3 yrs so I'm ready for a change, plus we spent the majority of our time in EPCOT so BC or YC would be perfect!!

Happy Monday everyone!!! This is my first full week of work since the 2nd week of December, I hope I make it through, LOL.

Leaving on a jet plane ..... well tomorrow morning. :wave2:

Safe travels and have a magical trip!!

Hello RC family :wave2: I am up to my eyeballs in GF baking the past few days and have a pizza crust in the oven and am about to start on chocolate chip cookies :faint: I really, really, really hope all of this work pays off and DS' ulcers and errosion clear up, altough I wont really know that until his next endoscopy.

Melissa

For some reason, when I read your post I thought, "What kind of baking is Grand Floridian baking?" Then my brain returned to my head.:lmao: Hopefully the GF stuff works.

Your DH needs to rub off on mine. Although mine was really willing to talk about the trip this morning.

I just wish I knew which week in September to pick for our trip. The date options are...
1. Sept 3 - 6 (or 7th): We would check in the day after Labor day and the DSs would only miss 4 days of school.
2. Sept 10 - 14: To be there for the special Friday the 13th Villian stuff.
3. Sept 17 - 21: Talk Like A Pirate Day is on the 19th and I'm thinking this is when they would have their special Pirate Week and the whole family loves pirates. I just hate booking and not knowing for sure if that is the week they are doing it as it is the only reason I would book that date.

Any thoughts? I'm have to wait until the DH gets home to ask him what he thinks.

Welcome back, Missout! Happy Planning for next trip, that's always fun! I loved your photo of YC. :cool1:

GG-Have a fabulous trip! :dance3:

Melissa-Hope all your GF baking turns out yummy. :goodvibes

Janet-We love the Osborne lights, too. Nothing like it.:thumbsup2

Wookie-Sounds like lots of great Sept possibilities! :cool1:

Only two cookies went missing from CL that afternoon. :rolleyes1  So, ya all packed now?! The forecast looked REALLY nice for the upcoming days. Got the appendages crossed it stays that way for you guys. :goodvibes

Welcome Home Miss! Sounds like you had a great time! Yes, the Obsborne Lights are AMAZING ::yes:: Can't wait to see where and when your planning takes you popcorn::

Still on hold, ugh :headache:

Melissa

Thank you! That bread looks yummmmmm-o by the way. /drool. You know, seeing the Osborne lights kinda puts us in a bit of a conundrum... Halloween or Osborne Lights?

Glad to hear you made it back safely and enjoyed your time! I am really contemplating switching to either YC or BC but leaning more towards YC. We have stayed at the Poly the past 3 yrs so I'm ready for a change, plus we spent the majority of our time in EPCOT so BC or YC would be perfect!!

Thank you. (I'm a reformed Poly-addict. Keep this a secret so no one hurts me, please. :thumbsup2 ) You'll love either, I swear. Have you stayed at the BC or YC before? After having tried both, I'm not sure I can decide between them... would have to let the discounts dictate which, I think.

We've gone in September the past 3 years. That's tough. For us, since the crowds were kinda a factor... we always went toward the middle-end of September. For me, given what you posted, I'd go for the 13th. Are they doing something special during a MNSSHP that night?! popcorn::

That brings up some of my own questions...

Christmas or Halloween? Crowds, discounts, oh my... makes my little brain hurt.

This is why we loved going in September so much: huge hotel discounts and low crowds. And, because we love the pool so much, heat heat and more heat. And, the Halloween Party.

But then ... this trip happened.

Why did the Osborne lights have to be soooooooo nice?! :confused3

I didn't even think about MNSSHP.

The Villians thing is at DHS. Here is what was on the Disney Blog about it...
Unleash the Villains: Friday the 13th in September 2013 is a special day, so Disneyland park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are staying open until the 13th hour (1 a.m.). Maleficent, Captain Hook, Jafar and other Disney Villains host a dance party, complete with limited-edition collectibles and other nighttime mischief.

However....if they have MNSSHP on Tuesday and Friday nights, like they did September 2012, then the 13th would be a MNSSHP night. That would be such a cool way to spend Friday the 13th. I'm gonna have to dress up again like I did in 2006. I may see if I have my maid of honor dress from my sister's wedding here at the inlaws and go as the Blue Fairy again, or buy a Minnie Mouse costume and get some yellow Converse. Miss, I think you are right. I'm gonna call right now and change the dates.

Erica! I do, I do, I do want to stay at YC!!! thanks for the picture!

Melissa yay for being able to secure the date change you wanted!

I just woke up.....yeah, taken down mid-day by a darn migraine!
It has been awhile since I've had one, and my medication wipes me out. I had to leave work and go to bed. :headache:

Oh Erica, I meant to say as well, that your hubs sounds like mine (though probably without the British accent ;) ), in that he did our spreadsheet for our April trip, and the last thing on there is "Get on Magical Express and start planning the next trip" :lmao:

Wookie: That Villians thing sounds so. very. cool! I think they've done the Friday thing for the last two years now so it's probably a safe bet. During our party in September, because it was a washout during the first bit, they had the Villians out walking around instead of doing their Dance Party thing so we got to see Jafar anyway. Shame we didn't get close enough to Maleficent.

Candace: Bahahaha! Yes, this is apparently where most going-back plans happen? Sorry about the migraine. All better now, I hope?

So...

You know what, ladies? I'm a total and complete DUNDERHEAD... and I'm telling all of you going so you don't make the same mistake we just did. So, I'm not sure if this is just a recent thing and perhaps you already know about this, but I was kinda looking around the room for a BB offer. Never anything left, yadda, yadda. Today, I'm going through the stuff from Disney, trying to file stuff away and I take out the packet/folder they give you at check-in. The folder I never look in? Yeah, that one... the one with the 35% off Room Only Bounceback Offers for most of the rest of 2013. :headache::rolleyes: I can't believe it...

The flashing is gone, only a dull headache now, but just in that wiped out stage. I feel exhausted. :guilty:

Oh well, hopefully after a good nights sleep tonight, I will be back to 100% tomorrow. :)

I read that somewhere about the bounce backs now being in the packets!! On another thread...didn't think to mention it here. Where did I see that???

Hi Miss! Ok, I am sick for you missing that BB offer! Is there some way you might be able to call and get to use it? Sorry if not....:sad1:

So we will have to make sure and make time for Fantasmic this trip! Sounds like it is a must do.:). Glad you all had a great trip, and you are making me excited to see Osbourne Lights too!

Thinking of Sarah tonight ....

For some reason, when I read your post I thought, "What kind of baking is Grand Floridian baking?" Then my brain returned to my head.:lmao: Hopefully the GF stuff works.

That's hilarious because I also thought the same thing at first! I guess I have too much Disney on the mind, but really is it ever too much?? :rotfl2:

Nope, never stayed at either resort! I think it's definitely going to be either the Poly or YC! I love the idea of walking to EPCOT!! One thing I thought of is we can stay at the Poly and then visit the YC to see if we would like to stay there next year. Decisions, decisions...I'm still deciding, lol. popcorn::

Oh no!!!!! I would be sick at my stomach!! Well, if it makes you feel any better...when we stayed at the Poly September of 2011 we had a BB offer for 40% off the next September. Well......I said the dumbest thing of all times...."let's just wait, I think we'll go elsewhere for vacation next year", yeah right!!! Of course I was ready to go back! Needless to say we ended up with something like 23% off when we could have had 40% off!! Blah!

I have done that same thing with the bounce back! Last trip, I decided I was going to just book and I could change it later. But, the dates didn't stretch into fall so I didn't!

Hello my RC brethren. I think we are going to be in Disney 8/14-8/20. I think we are decided on AoA for one week and Poly CL the second week. But that's all subject to change of course. :rotfl: I make ADRs in 30 days. I have a huge list, but I guess it's ok because we have 14 nights to squeeze them all in. ;)

Missed you ladies! :grouphug: Sorry for not checking in more. Those of you leaving or about to, safe travels. Thanks for all the kind words about Miss M. Last night was a Sarah night...her family sends a big thank you for all the love here on the thread...her DH and DDs are so nice, so kind..and I am so thankful they welcomed us to her memorial :grouphug:

Sis....we will probably be there the exact same time!!! As for my resort....:rotfl:

Good morning RCer's!! I hope everyone has a great day!! I am going to spend the day with my birthday Monkey at the Sea Life Aquarium. Then I'm going to make him Le Cellier's mushroom risotto for dinner with rosemary pork chops. For dessert, we'll have his chocolate birthday cake that has cookies and cream filling.

Well, after going back and forth and back and forth and "deciding" on the Beach Club, then "deciding again" on the Yacht Club, we have finally decided and actually booked the GF again!!

It's going to be my DH's birthday celebration, so we figured, okay... we're already postponing our trip from 2012 to 2013, so it'll give us more time to save. Well, then Disney Visa dazzled me with a discount, so that was just a wonderful incentive!! So now we're at 144 days to go!! Weeeee!!!!:yay:

Does this mean I'm going to get kicked off the thread because we decided for sure ? :confused3 Can I still come and visit?
