With 6 Todd will eat your egg roll! Nicki, Todd, Katmark & Family Xmas! UPDATED 1/2

I'm a die hard Beach Club fan but have never made it to CM for breakfast... guess I'm not missing anything. Will stick to Beaches 'n Cream and Yachtsman, I guess. :upsidedow

Sorry you didn't have a better experience. Really enjoying your reviews, as always.

Sorry Cape May was so lousy! I really do love breakfast at Crystal Palace, but maybe its the characters more than the food?! I'm just not a big buffet person, even for breakfast. I mean, when you can go to Kona??? :rotfl:

Oh, and by the way....the gingerbread cupcake at Starring Rolls...A-MAZING!

I am glad I read the CMC breakfast and Kona parts of this report. DD and I have a mother/daughter breakfast scheduled at Kona in Feb. I am glad I picked it now. It is a new restaurant for us. We were all going to go to the breakfast at CMC before we left for home in Feb but I just couldn't see spending that much money on breakfast.

I am so happy that I read this review. We were just talking about adding another breakfast to our May, 2013 trip and I suggested Cape May. Guess I'll cross that one off.

Its not that the breakfast was bad it just wasnt worth the money for what you got and if you are not staying around those resorts its not worth the trek over to it

sorry your breakfast wasn't great, at least you were with the gang :goodvibes

Thats what made it all worth it!

This was the worse day of the trip. I was so sad that you and Todd would be leaving us that afternoon and it left me unhungry. Then add in the food...and it truly was not worth the money we paid for it. I was very disappointed in the food and think the only thing I ate was the "not so good bacon" and the Mickey Waffles. Now, I normally love Mickey Waffles, but these were just not good at all. But we did have fun with the characters, didn't we?

Des supposedly worked on those pictures today; I'll know when Andy gets home from "date night" tonight.

I was dreading that day, I wanted to stay until the end with you but alas, we have to work to pay for these trips :rotfl: The food was eh, nothing exciting. Honestly I liked Kona much better and the food was brought to us so we were able to sit and talk in a relaxing manner I think the food was sitting for a while and it wasnt super fresh

I'm the other diser who can do w/o mickey waffles Nicki! I <3 pancakes but waffles are ok. Although, I do plan on making them this week w/ raspberries & cream for the guys.

Too bad Cape May breakfast is slipping. :( My parents enjoyed the Cape May clam bake, again this year. They said it was off the charts! It could be different staff? Oh well, the atmosphere is so pretty, it's a shame. I hope they step it back up::yes::!

I dont like Belgian waffles either...give me Eggo and I am one happy girl! When we first ate at Cape May years ago it was excellent and much cheaper than it is now but the last few times it was nothing special. The clam bake we love, that is always a hit with us

Sorry to hear y'all didn't have a good meal at Cape May. We've never eaten there and, honestly, it's never even made it on to a list of possibilities for us. Don't think that's going to change after this review. :lmao:

I really want to go back to Crystal Palace, its been 4 years since we had breakfast there and I miss it!

And I thought I was the only one who thinks this place is only "ok" when it comes to the food. Outside of the very good character interaction there really was nothing I found at Cape May that I wouldn't find in a Golden Corral. One thing that really left me leaving this place disappointed was that it did not have a fresh omelet station. For the price of the buffet the least they can do is have a fresh omelete station. I'm really not into pre-made eggs sitting on a steam table. I did ask the server if I could have an omelete made up. She was not overly excited by the request but did put in an order. It took 20 minutes to get that omelete. I'm not a big breakfast eater; my daily routine is a bowl of Cheerios with almond milk and a banana. Perhaps it's more me and not Cape May?

Normally we loved this place but this time it was boring and the food wasnt that wonderful. Characters are not a must do for Todd and I, for us its all about the food. Boma is hands down the best breakfast buffet out there. I cannot believe it took 20 minutes to cook an omelet! Thats just nuts. Todd and I drink protein shakes for breakfast but on vacation we are huge breakfast eaters

I'm not a fan of Mickey waffles or Cape May. Sorry to hear it was a sad day with bad food.:sad2:

Thank goodness I'm not alone on my distaste for waffles, they are cute though!

Too bad about Cape May! We love the dinner, we had breakfast there once 8 years ago and I can't say I remember anything about it. So we probably won't be going for breakfast anytime soon!

DInner is still a good time for us, the food is very good and there is a huge selection

We've always enjoy breakfast at CM (not so much dinner, though), but when we were there in October, they sat us in that closet side room as well. I didn't even know that existed. Changed the entire experience!

I do not like that little room at all! THey have tried to seat us there many times, for breakfast and dinner, but each time I refuse to sit there. You feel so closed off from the rest of the place.

wow, what a bummer, Nicki! We ate CM breakfast last year (September 2012), and thought it was wonderful. Everything was hot & fresh...the quiche was fabulous and the pastries were the best we'd had at a Disney breakfast buffet...fresh fruit was great, too. Sure hope your breakfast was an exception and not the new trend for CM breakfast!

We love Boma breakfast, too...and yes, the selection is better at Boma.

Hi Cathy! I did like the quiche but the fruit was terrible. Never had a bad breakfast at CM before, and to pay those high prices and the food isnt that great...ouch!

We weren't really impressed with Cape May either. I don't think its worth it for the money. Even the dinner too..its so expensive! But, we love Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club for breakfast. We've been a couple times and gotten the buffet. Its one of the cheapest on property and very tasty...not a ton of offerings, but enough to fill us up!

The cost of everything is so expensive! We used to pay $15 for breakast and $25 for dinner...its doubled now! We are staying at the Dolphin in Oct and will go to Capt Grill for breakfast one morning. Fresh too, we had breakfast there once and it was very good.

MMMM i just love a good candy apple.

I remember the reservation issues with BOG so glad you all had no problems. I can't wait to see Kathy's photos of the interior!

Your meals...OMG they look sooo good. I have got to stop reading your TR when I am hungry. I am practically drooling on my keyboard here!

I'm so glad you posted a photo of the meat pate appetizer - I was trying to picture it and in my mind it was nothing s appealing as that photo!

Too bad that Cape May was a disappointment. I'm not a big fan of breakfast buffets, except for Akershus Banquet Hall that is. I have never been a huge eater first thing in the morning.....sadly my nights are never so interesting as to make me ravenous in the morning:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I like the plain caramel apples from Germany....all that candy and chocolate turns me off. They are very pretty to look at though!

We were so lucky to not have problems with BOG, everyone else was having major issues but we were seated just a short time after checking in. THe food was soooo good! Mark and Andy shared the meat/pate appie and they both enjoyed it very much.

I am not a fan of breakfast buffets either but Cape May has always been a great choice, especially first thing in the morning when they open. THis time it missed the mark for sure. Boma is the reigning champion for breakfast buffets and totally worth going out of my way for

Too bad about Cape May for breakfast. I hope it's not like that in February. As usual, I love your dining reports!

I hope you have a better meal next month

I am not a fan of Mickey waffles either :)

Now if they were pumpkin Mickey waffles, well I would just be all over that!

Bummer! I was kinda looking forward to a Cape May Breakfast one of these trips. :worried:

And you're not alone concerning the Mickey waffles. :guilty:
For some reason on the first trip in 2007 they seemed wonderful, but this last trip I was NOT impressed. Wanted to be, but I really wasn't feeling it. :sad2:

After this report, I'm glad we have a BOMA breakfast planned!! :goodvibes

Its not that the food is bad, well the fruit was terrible, its just nothing special, nothing to get up early for and certainly not worth the price they are charging. I really want to try the chocolate Mickey waffles at Crystal Palace one of these days. You will LOVE LOVE LOVE Boma and want to eat there every day, we do lol!

We are a mickey waffle family :lmao

As for cape may break fast..we went years ago, great family character pics, but the food, meh., haven't been back:rolleyes2

We first ate there back in 1994 and it was Cinderella and her mice as the characters...wish I could remember what the food was like ha ha

Oh no!!!! Not a Mickey waffle fan?? I hope that you will allow this Mickey waffle lover to still follow along! :lmao: That's ok, I'm pretty sure that I am in a minority with not being a lover of the vahlrona chocolate cake at CG!

I do love seeing all the holiday versions of the treats. Disney does such a great job with the cupcakes, cookies, and other goodies at Christmas. :thumbsup2

Nope, no fans of Mickey waffles in this house but we love people that love them  I didnt like that vahlrona cake either but Todd did :confused3

Disney is great with decorating food and snack for the holidays...and they taste as great as they look!

I love reading your reviews! They get me excited to visit WDW! :thumbsup2

Thank you!

Scratch Cape May for breakfast, was possibly thinking of it for a Free Trip , but not now !!!

Save the money for cocktails :lmao:

I'm a die hard Beach Club fan but have never made it to CM for breakfast... guess I'm not missing anything. Will stick to Beaches 'n Cream and Yachtsman, I guess. :upsidedow

Sorry you didn't have a better experience. Really enjoying your reviews, as always.

You are not missing a thing! Wish B&C served breakfast, that would be awesome! Glad you are enjoying the reviews, thanks for reading!

Its time we go back to CP, never had a bad breakfast there and I like getting into the park super early too. Never tried the Castle, wonder if thats better than CP? Boma is totally worth it, the best buffet out there. If I had my choice I would eat at Kona and Boma every day of the trip :thumbsup2

So glad you loved the gingerbread cupcake, it was the best!

You will love Kona, make sure you get the pressed pot! With the pricing going up as much as it has we prefer breakfast at the CS locations...it can be very expensive eating TS all the time. Honestly all I need is some scrambled eggs and I am happy! From now on I am going to bring our protein shakes with us and have those for breakfast instead!

I really need one of those gingerbread cupcakes, need to remember that for next Dec! Yachtsman looks absolutely fabulous. I have to agree with your Cape May review. I'm not a fan of buffets in general and I found it average at best. Fun, cute characters but not worth the price at all,

Yum! Crystal palace we frequent :) and the omelet station is pretty good there too!

Found you from KatMark trip report!!!! Love all the detail you give witht he food pictures. Can not wait to be there in Feb!!!

Just dropping by to say that I ate at BOG tonight. IT WAS FANTASTIC!!! I'm glad you told me to try it. I was so skeptical!!!

Loving your DR and I was so happy to read your glowing review of BOG! I can't wait to try that restaurant on our next trip to the World. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with us! :thumbsup2

I just love your food TR's, have been following the birthday TR too.

I can't believe you were able to talk them into opening the bakery at DHS for you. We were at DHS for the lights, and I think I got some pretty good pictures of the cupcake.:santa: Not sure why we didn't try one though!

We did try the blue mint cupcake from CR, it was out of this world wonderful! All I can say is wow! Chocolate cake, with chocolate filling, and mint frosting.

Loved the new menu at Beaches and Cream, we went there on a chilly day, so the open faced beef sandwich with the potatoes was a real hit.

I agree that Cape May is just ok, the Characters are fun with their beach outfits, and of course the resort is beautiful too. Crystal Palace is the best place we have found for breakfast buffet, but I would love to try Boma on a future trip. I do like Tonga Toast and eating at Kona, but I also tried small Mickey waffles with chocolate chips, chocolate sauce and whipped cream at the WL in November. It was so good, and it was from the children's menu, so it was really reasonable too.

I am sad that you are on your last day, but know that you will be back with more great reports for all of us. Thanks for sharing all of your pictures and information!:surfweb:

Hi,
Followed you over from Kathy’s report. Can’t wait to read the reviews.
I think I might have to do Boma for breakfast again being when I went it wasn’t so good but that looks amazing.
Nice view from your room.
Beaches & Cream is so good. The brownie sundae looks delicious.
The cupcake in a mug is adorable.
The food at Chef de France looked delicious.
That all looked good from Yachtsman Steakhouse. Never been but on my list now.
Sorry you didn’t like Lefou’s Brew I thought it was delicious but sweet.
The gingerbread man from CR is cute.
The mint cupcake sounded good and looked it too. The one you had also looked good.
I love that room in Cape May. Away from everyone and quiet. We did last year and found it average.
I am all caught up and really enjoying your reviews.

I enjoyed reading your dining report, it sounds like a great trip good times with friends good food and beautiful decorations! I've picked so many of our restaurants from reading your reviews. We usually eat breakfast at a counter service or eat in our room, but tried Konas our last trip the tonga toast was outstanding! Linda

Dang it, cant believe I missed another of your dining reports. All three couples are beautiful, so glad you had a great time. I am heading over to the first page to get started reading.

Wow, I nearly missed this DR .... shame on me

OK, two things just jumped out at me

1. The Gingerbread Cupcake
2. The Snowball

Now I am literally counting down the days until our December vacation to try these babies :cool1:

Kathy just gave them link to come check out the food! Yummy!!! Looks like there are some places we will need to add to our trip next December! And one to take off. We were thinking about the Cape May breakfast. I think we will stick with CP and Ohana for breakfast!
