Hi Everybody!
We are staying at YC June 1-8 (would love to be on the Be Our Guest list please). We have enjoyed the BC before but want to try the other side this trip. We had a nice stay at Poly last 'long' trip, but have to say part of me missed the relaxation of the BC (and the Poly rooms and interiors are a bit tired - thank you for the rehab Mickey!)
Thanks for the great thread and all the fun information!
Erin
I'll add you to the list!
Please let us know your thoughts about both resorts after your stay in June.
That's great to hear that you find BC more relaxing than Poly!! We're booked for Poly in Sept, and we love staying there, but I'm having 2nd thoughts because it is more expensive than BC or YC and we spent most of our time in EPCOT. I think it would be so nice to be so close to EPCOT but I'm afraid we won't find the BC or YC as relaxing as Poly. Decisions, decisions....
Sent from my Galaxy S II
to the thread. Hope you stick around and decide to give the Beach Club or Yacht Club a try. You truly can't find a better location if you spend a lot of time in EPCOT.
ok folks we are 18 days out from a 7 day YC GV CL stay first timers.
I just checked the site and there is no availability at all within the YC except for a CL LV room which I can upgrade to for about $300 more. (I'm surprised the hotel would be sold out - perhaps conferences? ) My question for those who are familiar with the fifth floor - would you upgrade? Is a LV worth the cost I would incur? We do plan on spending some time in the room during the visit.
TIA -
One of the reasons that the YC GV CL room category is probably sold out is that there are so few rooms in this category. From everything I have read, the GV room views are lovely.
Personally, I wouldn't switch, but then again I always book standard view. I don't really care what I am looking at (to me, even rooftops and parking lots at Disney are beautiful
) and I am wicked cheap, so I would vote for saving the money.
Hi everyone. I am new to this thread. We just got back from 10 days at the Poly over Christmas. The family wants to go back again and this time stay at the Yacht Club.
We found we spent most of our time at HS and Epcot. Kids are adults now so a day or two max is needed in the MK.
Just wondering if YC rooms have been renovated lately. Also do all Waterview rooms have balconies?
Let us know when you book a trip so we can add you to the Be Our Guest list.
As I mentioned above, the location of the Yacht & Beach Club can't be beat for EPCOT and HS lovers!
I think the Yacht Club and Beach Club rooms were most recently renovated in 2008/2009. You should be all set with a full balcony in all room categories at the Yacht Club.
Getting ready for our 1/25 two night stay before our first cruise. This will be our first time at YC. Thank you to everyone for sharing all of your information on this thread. With just two nights at the hotel I want to be prepared before we arrive.
Now I am keeping my fingers crossed that there will be one day warm enough to at least jump in the pool! My kids have been asking to stay at the hotel with the pirate ship by Epcot for a while now, and of course I book it for January and not when we go in August!!
I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list. Hoping for warm weather for you.
wdwfanva Feb. 21-26 2013 at YC . DW and I are celebrating my BIG birthday, staying concierge (sp)
Staying at POFQ 16-21 . First split stay
Sounds like an awesome trip planned! I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.
Oh, starting to get that urge to visit the Beach Club again.
You and me both!
Is this the right thread to be a part of if I'm going to Disney in December 2013 BC? I just noticed at the top it said Nov./Dec. 2012, January 2013. Is there a separate thread for December 2013?
Sweet!! So, the way to keep updated would be to subscribe to this thread then?
Absolutely the right place to be! As others have indicated, the date on the thread refers to current date. Every 4 months or so we need to start up a new thread because this forum gets too large (250 pages)
Some people get overwhelmed since there are so many pages here, but most of the info you need can be found on Page 1, or you can just ask and someone here will try to help. You don't have to read every page (but a lot of people love to)
I have added you to the December Be Our Guest List- let us know your specific dates if you would like.
Has anyone stayed CL and not opted for the dining plan? Is there enough food throughout the day?

Depends on how your family's eating habits and how you plan to tour the parks.
We find the breakfast selections to be a perfect start to an early morning in the parks.
The offerings in the afternoon and early evening appetizers are not intended to replace lunch or dinner, but can definitely supplement meals that you have during the day.
Club Level combined with the regular dining plan is perfect for my family. Great breakfast in the morning, early lunch at a counter service in the parks and an early evening sit down dinner.
If you tend to prefer smaller meals or snacking around the parks, you may choose to skip the dining plan. The other thing about Disney is that the restaurant portions are HUGE, so if you will be sharing meals or ordering appetizers as an entree or if you don't want dessert at every meal then you may not need the dining plan.
Good luck with your decision.
Let us know if you have booked a trip and would like to be added to the Be Our Guest list.
We are going home to the Yacht Club in May!! I can't wait!
back!
So glad to be adding you back to the Be Our Guest list. What are your dates in May?
First stay at BC next month (Feb.)!! Stayed at Swan last year and loved the area but missed the upscale and Disney feel. Hope the BC will be great as I expect! We'll be in a standard room. Any tips, etc.????
I think you will like it here!
I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.
