March 24th,2013 / 4 nights Bahamas

I think we (DS13 and I) will be staying onboard- we're going to use it as another sea day. :) Which means I'll be hanging by myself up on the adult deck! :rotfl:

Are any adults planning to do any of the tastings on board or the mixology? I would love to go and sit with some friendly DISers! :goodvibes

Are the tastings included in the navigator? How much do they usually run? I'd love to try a few!!

Hi, everyone. I paid our final payment. So excited. We can book shore excursions on the 8th. Does anyone know if anything is left? I figure a lot of the stuff will be gone. Any of the dolphin encounters? If you don't mind looking, I would appreciate it. This is our third cruise (first Disney) and we have tried to do a dolphin encounter on each of those, but they have been cancelled due to missing the ports. I am hoping to see dolphins on this one.

I just booked the Blue Lagoon Sea Lion Encounter for me and my son. We did the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim in November (while on a Norwegian cruise) and it was awesome. Blue Lagoon is nice because you can hang out at the beach there afterward for a while. It's a nice place.

It's just me and my DS8, so I'll be hanging out solo at the adult areas here and there (while he is at the kids club). Feel free to say hi!

For the tastings, go directly to Guest Services as soon as you board. They will have the whole schedule. Normally the tastings only show up in the Navigator if there are spaces available. I have seen them all be booked up before we ever leave port.

I like the wine tasting and they have a more expensive executive wine tasting on some of the longer cruises. I don't know if they'll have that on the Dream or not.

I've also seen tequila, Martini, and beer tastings before. But just ask at Guest Services.

I would love to try either the wine, martini or maybe the beer tasting. If I sign up for it and see that I can't make it, can I cancel and not be charged for it? Does anyone know the cancellation policy for the tastings?

They are in the Navigator- they usually have wine, champagne, martini, tequila, beer, whiskey- it varies. They also offer mixology where you get to mix the drinks. Most of them are $15-$20 I think? We missed the champagne tasting last year, so we just went to Pink and had our own! :thumbsup2 Alenka split glasses of different champagnes between us- it was a blast, but it was a LOT more than $20 per person, lol. :rotfl: I have done the martini one twice on the Magic- it's alot of fun!

Great! Do we all have a DISmeet planned yet for the beginning of the cruise? Maybe everyone could post a pic, so we know who we're looking for. Let me go hunt for a pic of me with Tim.....

You can cancel before the event with no penalty- just take your ticket back to guest services. I've done that before when something else came up. So unless they've changed the policy...

We had to cancel the executive wine tasting because we bought DVC and the paperwork took too long. They were really nice and refunded our money for that one even though they didn't have to. (Of course they got A LOT more out of us than the cost if the wine on that one!)

Good to know - thanks! I'm hoping DH will check out DVC while on board this time - we have talked about it but still not sure if it is for us. We need to go to the seminar/meeting while on board and get more info!

Let me know if you have any questions about DVC! I'm sure others here are also members and could help too, but I'm happy to offer our perspective if it helps.

We are very happy with DVC, it's now paid off, which makes me feel even better using it. But I'm not sure it's really for everyone. As with any timeshare, it has it's pros and cons. But happy to chat with you about it anytime!

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

(Sorry, tried to make it smaller, but Photobucket is NOT cooperating!)

Hi all! Please excuse my enthusiasm - Alabama just won the BCS championship!!!! Roll Tide Roll!! They won the SEC championship during our WDW trip while we were at Hoop Dee Doo Revue - it was a blast needless to say! Any who, I almost forgot to go online and do my MIL's port adventures bookings, online check -in, etc. I got the PA booked but was unable to do the checkin - it said something about an internal error and to try again. Anyone ever get that message? When I did ours at 90 days out, I was able to do everything at 11:01 pm our time. Any ideas?

Okay...I waited a while and was finally able to do the online check-in. I guess it was something with the website? So now that's one more thing done! Yea...won't be long now!

I just checked in online. It was pretty easy. I got 11am check in. Although, I think I need to go back and enter 2 passport numbers. I thought I did this before, but it was asking me again for my DH's information. I'll try to do that in the morning.

I also think I registered for the Blue Lagoon Dolphin interaction. I didn't pay for anything, is that how it is suppose to be?? Will they just charge my card that I have used, or do they charge it once on ship? We cruised before, but on RCI and Carnival and had to pay up front for shore excursions. Did I do something wrong?

Oh, and one more question - we have a noon flight out of MCO. When I entered the information a note came up and said that it is earlier than the recommended departure time. Do you think it is too early? We will probably be up and out as early as can be and are taking the transfers to MCO. Should I be worried?

Thanks so much for all the help and answering all my crazy questions. Sorry to ask so many.

Kate

Hi Kate!

No, you don't pay for the excursion now. You can change, cancel, add all the way up to 3 days out. Once you're onboard, they will charge your onboard account for all of your excursions. (We normally prepay our onboard account to take advantage of the Disney visa 6month free interest on these charges.). You can cancel onboard if DCL finds another passenger who wants to take your place.
