It's a WONDER we have any money left after the Cruise! - All done!

your day sounded nice and relaxing, except for Fran being in pain. I know it puts a damper on things. but you both spent some nice quality time together.

Thanks for all the food porn, I am now starving after my yogurt for breakfast. :(

I feel like an old fogie after 2 nights without sleep. :scared:

That's a nice pic of you and Fran too. :thumbsup2 Cute dress you've got on. Love the food coma photo. Can't wait to get to my Boma pics in my trip report. I was in a Boma coma after that meal.

Sorry I’ve been gone for so long, being back home and having to do my daily routine and chores really takes away from my TR time on the DIS. I seem to only have time for lasting!

I'm sitting here contemplating an avocado toast and staring at all this food porn! From the wonderful lunch to the CL plate to that dinner!!!! (Not to mention the menu).

Looks delicious. And that picture of you and Fran is gorgeous. I love your bling. Is that the black dress? Will we see a full length picture of you in it?

Sounds like the spa was worth it.

I can’t wait to get back on another ship! Even the “not so good” food porn days were better than me having to cook at home!

That is the black dress, and no :sad2: I didn’t get a full length picture of myself. I was just too tired that night. Probably from all the “stuff” I did that day! :rotfl2: Probably the massage kicked my butt!

Fran has the bluest eyes.....just an observation I felt I needed to voice. :confused3

Awww shucks! I’ll have to tell her, she will be flattered!

Ah a spa day sounds so good right now. Lovely pic of Fran and you!

I’m sure you enjoyed yours today too! Thanks!

Aside from Fran not feeling well that sounds like one fabulous day. Loving the pictures of the ship.

At least that is one of the luxuries of being on the ship. She had in-room entertainment, all her meals were prepared and barely had to leave the room except for dinner!

Oh my gosh! You guys really did break the bank on this cruise! It looks like you were having an amazing time though, given Fran's pain levels. I also did the Palo brunch because Alicia had recommended it and I was so jealous looking at your pictures and knowing that I couldn't have those yummy foods right now! I will have to make a Palo dinner reservation on our next Disney cruise, whenever that happens, because everything on your table and menu looked superb as well. Did you ever find the rearview mirror and other thing you were expecting in that plethora of packages? And is there a back story to that old car you guys got, or was it just a spur of the moment kind of purchase?

She did the same thing on our Alaska cruise, we did these excursions that I never would have dreamed of a helicopter, seaplane, hydrofoil boat, plus jewelry and stuff! All I have to do is get her out of the house near shiny objects and she’s all over it. There’s still more to come! :faint: I just found the receipts when I took the stuff out to take pictures of! :scared1:

I did the brunch because Alicia’s trip looked so good and took her recommendation for the first day at sea. I think we will repeat that on our cruise out of Galveston.

No we didn’t find that rearview mirror. We also never found a computer that was supposedly delivered, but at least they sent a replacement. Here’s the car story. Fran’s first car was a Cougar. I think it caught fire or got in a wreck. About 10 years ago she got this. We had it COMPLETELY restored (rebuilt engine, new seats that look just like the original, everything) about 4 years ago.

DSCN0044.jpg

Then a few years later she got this, thinking she could drive it daily.

Feb108444.jpg

Then she wanted a show car, so she got this. It was also detailed and restored on the surfaces (no engine work).

DSCN0043.jpg

Then this year we got some extra money from an investment that her father left her which cashed out, and she started to go crazy. She always wanted one of these, but now we found out it can’t be registered in California, so it is back up for sale. This is a replica of a 1936 Auburn Speedster.

DSCN7335.jpg

Then she decided she needed something a little less “fancy”, so we bought this one at auction.

DSCN8954.jpg

The 1928 Auburn, the car I showed earlier, is an ACTUAL 1928 Auburn, and she felt she had to have a “real” one instead of just a repicar. I’ve told her we REALLY have to stop buying cars (we might run out of money) because we just don’t have any more garage spaces to put them in! :rotfl:

We, too, ordered in room service for lunch one day on the ship and we really enjoyed it.

Oh man, I really miss the pool area. WAY better than the pool area on the Dream. It doesn't look busy at all! And is that a buff older gentlemen behind you in that one picture you took of yourself?? I'm not sure how or even why I saw it, but was thinking, dang, hopefully DH can look like that one day when he's older!!

Ah, the massage. Did they give you the spiel afterwards? I really wish we could have skipped that part because I was so relaxed and the last thing I wanted to do was be taught a lesson on their products.

Again, something from your TR that sounded fun. I didn’t even notice the older gentleman in the photo! I’m sure your DH will look better! :thumbsup2

I didn’t get any kind of spiel after the massage, but I know that they normally do one.

Great updates :goodvibes

We've never actually ordered room service on either of our cruises, something we aim to put right next time!

The Captain's Gala menu looks pretty good, we were in Palo for this night when we were on the Fantasy

Thanks for the great pictures of the adult area :thumbsup2

I liked ordering room service! It was neat just to hide in our room for that one day. I’d look out the verandah every so often, but we were just tucked away in the room watching movies and eating, it was kind of fun. We never take time to do that and relax at home.

LOVE LOVE LOVE your trip report...more please! I miss the ship so much I stare at some of your pics! :rotfl2:

How's the baby? I remember your trip reports :lovestruc

Well, sorry to say I only have one more day left! But it was a good one too!

This sounds like a lovely relaxing day. We had room service for the first time on our last cruise and both had the steak sandwich. We really loved it, but on the Magic it was in a sub roll.

Corinna

The steak sandwich was really good. Normally I can’t finish something, but I ate all of that and my Macaroni and Cheese.

Loving your trip report. :goodvibes

Fran is a sharp dresser. What is on her tie? Is that a polar bear? Too cute!

She is a pretty sharp dresser when she wants to be. Yes that is a Polar Bear, she is an honorary Bear Club member! :lmao:

We are thinking of trying one... :goodvibes

I hope you guys do, I think you will like it!

Thanks for all the food porn, I am now starving after my yogurt for breakfast. :(

Unfortunately she is in pain a lot of the time at home too, but yes, we did get some nice time together, and I didn’t even get on my computer once!

Boma Coma! :lmao: Love it! I can’t wait to read about it!

While we were on our way home from my parents, we stopped at the outlets at Gilroy and I picked up a few new dresses. One for Palo Brunch, and one each for Formal night and Semi Formal night!

Fantasic looking cars...it's sad you won't be keeping this one...

DSCN7335.jpg

LOVE the cars!

Thanks! I think they're pretty nifty too! I love the looks we get riding around in them. I just wish we had more time to go out for leisurly drives on the coast and park them whike we kuunch on a patio and watch people walking by saying, "ooh look at that car!"

DSCN7335.jpg

Oh don't worry she'll have another. Shes has already found one at 2/3 the price of that one, we just need to make sure we can register it in CA before she tajes the plunge. I'd prefer we sold this one first, but the one she found this mrnng is an awesone deal!

We'll ship the other one bavk to the dealer in Florida. Who knows maybe we can take it for a spin on our next vacay!

Wouldn't that be funny...go to Florida to drive the car while on vacation.:rotfl2:

Followed you from Ellen's TR and have spent the last couple days reading the whole thing. Looks like you are having a nice cruise so far, sorry Fran has been having pain issues. It is cool to see a cruise going to some different ports than the usual Caribbean ones. Too bad they aren't doing cruises on the Mexican Riviera anymore.

Welcome! :welcome: I'm really enjoying Ellen's TR and hoping to make a visit to Aulani sometime soon. One of the reasons that we still went on the cruise (while canceling our previous WDW vacations) was that we knew she would be able to rest in the cabin. She needs a lot of rest at home. Without having the full strength of her arthritis medication, she had a lot of pain.

I can say that now that she has had two doses, she is moving much better. We had to postpone her infusion for tomorrow because we are both suffering from upper respiratory bugs, but hopefully she will get it before our trip to WDW, which is rapidly approaching and seems rather surreal right now!

So I was really exhausted after dinner that night. I had meant to put out the breakfast card so that we had something to eat in the room that morning, but I forgot. I decided to head up to Goofy’s and see what I could find to put a little something in our tummies so we didn’t starve while waiting for our next meal.

On my way, I stopped to take pictures of some of the “not for sale” artwork on the walls. Fran had commented that we should take some pictures, and I finally remembered. All of these came from one Fantasia or another, either the original or the 2000 version.

I went up to Deck 9 and got us some fruit, a chocolate croissant for Fran and a Special K with milk for me. You see for you veteran cruisers, we have dined at Palo, Triton’s, BBB, and Parrot Cay while in port, but there is one meal that we have not yet had, the infamous character breakfast! So I got Fran dressed after we had our snack and we headed out for breakfast.

We checked in at the podium, and they were a little busy, so we had a brief wait.

DSCN9721.jpg

DSCN9726.jpg

Wait a minute? :scratchin How many of you got champagne with your character breakfast?

Psych! We were back at Palo for brunch!

DSCN9720.jpg

I missed taking pictures of these masks up close the first couple times we dined here. They all had music notes on them, and I love anything with music notes.

DSCN9719.jpg

DSCN9718.jpg

DSCN9717.jpg

We didn’t have our normal table, but this one would do just fine.

DSCN9732.jpg

You see, living only about 25 minutes from Disneyland, we can go to Goofy’s kitchen, Storytellers, Minnie’s or the one at the Paradise Pier hotel almost any time we want. When was the next time that I was going to be able to eat the delectable Chicken Parmesan?

Unfortunately as we got closer to LA the seas became very choppy. Unbeknownst to us, it had rained the entire week we were gone, HARD. We were just now hitting the front of the storm as it moved down into Mexico. I’m not sure if you can see in this photo off the side of the ship, just how choppy the water was.

DSCN9728.jpg

This time we were seated more towards the middle of the restaurant, rather than close to the entrance.

DSCN9729.jpg

DSCN9730.jpg

DSCN9737.jpg

We had our same server who still took wonderful care of us. They made me another Bloody Mary just like I had the first day.

DSCN9734.jpg

Since I took pictures of the buffet the first day, I refrained from taking them on this second visit.

I did take pictures of our plates. This was Fran’s first plate.

DSCN9731.jpg

This was my plate

DSCN9733.jpg

She followed up her first plate with the Strawberry Soup.

DSCN9740.jpg

I couldn’t wait to have the Chicken Parmesan yet again!

DSCN9741.jpg

Now on the DISboards I had read about the grape and gorgonzola pizza, our concierge Rodrigo also told me that he heard it is wonderful. I wasn’t so sure about it, I’m more of a traditional pizza kinda gal, so when Hristo told me that they can make split pizzas, I decided that was absolutely the way to go. I went for the half signature pizza and half margherita pizza. It was good, but I could only eat about half of the pizza, because I definitely had to save room for some of the desserts that I missed the first time.

DSCN9742.jpg

Here I have the Panna Cotta, berries in Grand Mariner and I think the one in front is some kind of a trifle or cheesecake in a shot glass.

DSCN9743.jpg

I washed this all down with a Bailey’s and coffee

DSCN9746.jpg

Fran had our server get her a sticky bun for dessert.

DSCN9745.jpg

She was still not feeling great, mostly by this time it was because of the motion on the ship. We were rocking pretty good (which is why she let the server bring her the sticky bun instead of getting it for herself). We had brought Dramamine and she was happy to have it. We stopped back by the room and found our Concierge snack for the day.

Trickster!

Not gonna lie, I was going to be pissed that they offered you champagne at the character breakfast and not us! :lmao:

Yay for a second trip to Palo Brunch! I'm glad you decided to try the gorgonzola pizza. I wish they had told us about doing a half and half pizza, because I would have done half margherita as well. How did that taste?

:rotfl2: Gotcha! I liked the Margherita side better. Both were good, and even though I love the blue cheeses, I just wasn't feeling the grapes as much as the tomatoes and mozarella.

You were the hardest to keep the secret from. You were asking, "Are you going to go back to Palo?"

I kept wanting to say, "Sooner than you think!" :thumbsup2

I am glad that you got a second Palo brunch.

Corinna

We really enjoyed it so much the first time, we had to do it again. I think for the Magic we are going to book it for both the first and last brunch days. Not sure about which night for dinner. I don't think we can book until 75 days out, which will be right in the middle of our WDW trip!

As Silver Castaway Club members you can make your reservations at 90 days out.

Looks gorgeous!

The food is just to die-for!

You snuck in while I was replying to the other updates! I wish I were eating there soon. I just read Corinna's night at Palo on her TR and she mentioned that Graham had the Lobster Mascarpone Ravioli, I am dying for some of that right now!

Graham really loves this dish. I don't seafood with the exception of shrimp every now and again so I cannot comment.
