I'm sure I can't be the only one ehre carrying more than a little extra timber  which I'd like to (scratch that - NEED to) lose before the summer comes round and all those wobbly bits come out of hiding from under the jumpers:scared: PLus I've got a wardrobe full of things I'm hoping to fit back into rather than donate to charity shops.

Here's where I am now:

UK size 16 (but bursting out of some) - that's a US 12 I think
At least 28lb overweight (where did that come from!)
Rather too prone to :drinking: just because its dinner time:rolleyes:

I want to be

UK size 14 comfortably (US8)
28lb + (++?) lighter
Wine weekends only (and maybe one day in the week)

I don't eat loads of cookies and cakes, but I do like a bit of chocolate and a LOT of cheese:rolleyes1 And of course wine:rolleyes1 And what I save on wine I reckon I can leagally spend on scrapping/clothes/vacations.......

Anyone with me?

I"m trying to lose 10 (maybe 15 since the beginning of the New Year - usually I stay about 135lbs but when I got home from my getaway I was 141)
anyways this morning I"m at 137 but want to get to 125lbs or maybe 120lbs

I"m going to do atkins - that usually works for me as long as I don't have to go out to eat (I swear they add sugar to everything)

I'm in. I've been doing the Biggest Loser challenge on the WISH forum but I'll join here too. More people to hold me accountable.

Does anyone use My Fitness Pal? It's a website and an app and you can track your food and your exercise. If anyone wants to join, it's free, and my username is the same as it is here.

My biggest thing right now is I need to move more and eat less. My portion size is crazy out of control. But I really need to workout.
My long term goal is to run the Princess 1/2 in 2014, that gives me 1 year from February to train. I plan to do C25K (couch to 5K) and 30 Day shred.

I need to lose a few, okay a lot of pounds...My problem isn't what I eat so much as I need to get myself moving. I'm hoping to get a new job in Boston, which will mean a lot (and I mean a lot) more walking.

Like the sound of the fitness website/app -what's the address? At the moment I've got a lo-tech version (OK, its a notebook:lmao:)

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/

I don't have a smart phone so I have to come to my computer which means I'll be here & facebook instead
liked the site just not really workable for me without the way to log things as I go

Reddy I use my fitness with just my computer. Granted I can't access alot of the stuff but I've found that loggin the exercise and food alone helps.

Some of you may remember that I've tried this a few times in the last year. and everytime I've given up, well like most of you this am I thought he double hockey sticks I've GOT to get myself going again! So I gingerly drug out the scale and the measuring tape. Okay I'm going to step off a cliff here and write the numbers......... so the last time I tried this i went from 196 to 191 then 2 months later it was back and I gave up....... so this am i was dreading to step on that scale knowing it was going to hit 200 :faint::crazy2: so i bit the bullet and stepped on to find out it said 187 :faint: so after I picked myself up off the floor I tried it again and got the same number. well I honestly have no clue what I've been doing different (well maybe a small one that we won't talk abt) so now that I felt really good abt that number I realized I'm with in the 10 lbs of my first goal, that 177 that I haven't seen since I lost the baby weight with Eric ( he's 12 need to remember to change my siggy), so after that goal I'll reasess.

Jen that's a big commute isn't it?
Buffy you can do it!
Mazda I'd love to see a us 12!!!

I'm in...

My goal is to drop the few unwanted pounds I have....
Tone my tummy and thighs..

Anyone got some good workout routines for me??
When the kids all go back to school... I want to exercise 30 minutes a day...
I just hate to exercise with my family around..

Looks like everyone is on the wagon.

I love the my fitness pal app its great!

I've done the 30 day shred twice now and it works, but i get bored doing it every day, i need to find something else that I can do and do from home so I can keep it up.

I am ollychelle if you want to find me on myfitnesspal.

We should also share healthy meals/recipes we like that might inspire others to try to help with their weight loss. Or just snacks that we eat too?

I just made tortellini soup. 3 tubs of chicken broth, 1/2 bag of shredded carrots, 4 stalks of chopped celery, 2 T of italian seasoning, can of kidney beans, sausage (turkey sausage is what I use), and a little crushed red pepper (optional). I simmer all of that for a while or put it in the crock pot. Then I add a little cheese tortellini about 30-45 minutes before we are ready to eat. Sprinkle with a little parm. cheese and pepper before eating. The less tortellini you add, the more healthy the soup is! LOL

I am in- I am determined to stop gaining and start losing. I have been using the AP- Lose It- I love that I can just scan the barcodes of the food I am eating but I will check out my fitness pal as well.

I did well until I went to my brothers house (since returning from Christmas vacation- but haven't checked since I headed across the state so I will see how I did with tomorrow mornings weigh in.

Oh, my favorite WW tortellini soup recipe is awesome! I'll see if I can find it. Oh, here it is. I do use the Barilla packaged tortellini instead of frozen.

We made an old WW recipe the other night. 15 Minute Skillet Cassoulet. We probably ate it once a week for a year! Morgan used to call it 'basa and beans :)

Thanks for the soup recipes! It is on the menu for next week.

Here is one of my family's favorites. Just don't tell them it is WW, they would revolt!

Joined myfitnesspal as rlovew- I will give it a try and see how I do with keeping track.

I will look at myfitnesspal shortly...

I have been eating those Kellogg's chips.. I'll get the real name tomorrow... I love them.... I have 27 chips is 100 calories, if I remember correctly... My biggest downfall is at night snacking while I watch TV... so I need to stop that...

I am down to ONE soda a day! :woohoo:!!!

If you switch to diet soda (OK I know its evil....) its only about 8 calories, so effectively nothing:goodvibes I still have more tea 9and green tea with no milk sometimes). I'm going to also start a low calorie recipe thread - my biggest problem is finding lunches I can make up in advance. I can use the school canteen (its not expensive) but there's no calories marked on anything as its all made up on the premises.

I find walking the best exericse as I don't have to do anything other than leave the house! I did 1 1/2 hours yesterday afternoon with DH (after 35 mins in the morning) and 40 mins this morning. I also have a Rosemary Conley work-out DVD on order - the old ones are only a few £ from Amazon, and she does a great 7-day one which you can do 20 mins a day or combine several workouts together. They're not for those already fit, so perfect for me! I have knee and hip problems which mean I can't do high impact stuff or a lot of squats, lunges etc. (another reason to lose weight).

As the walk to school is only 15 mins each way I might also try to slip out at lunchtime for 20 mins walking. (But this week is going to be busy:headache:)
