Recent Miami cruisers... Where are you?

We are booked on the first 4-Night Bahamas Wonder sailing next week, Jan. 10th. I was told by Disney that the Dining rotation will be TAAP. You will dine at the same restaurant on the second and third night. The third night is Pirate Night. There is not a Palo brunch on this sailing.
As for transfers. The cheapest way is taxi from MIA. They have a "by law" set rate of $24 from the airport to the port. Hope this helps. I will be happy to answer any questions when we return.

For anyone flying out of FLL, it took us only about 20 minutes by cab from the port to the airport for about $80 including tip but there was no traffic to speak of.

Wow really? I didn't think it was that close. It's much cheaper for me to fly into FLL then MIA but I was concerned about the ride. I guess I need to start looking into shuttle service now. I'll likely arrive the day before. Thanks for the info!

I think 20 minutes would be calling it close. We stayed in Ft. Lauderdale (a little north of the airport) and it took us about 40 minutes to get to the Port on a Sunday morning.

I really appreciate the recent cruisers posting. We are set to leave out of Miami in a couple of weeks and I am real nervous since we are flying out of Ft. Lauderdale.

We need to be off boat early. So am I understanding this right? Keep our luggage with us the night before and take it with us to early breakfast disembarkation morning?

I am trying not to worry but our flight leaves at 12 noon exactly so I am hoping to be at airport as soon as possible.

Rather than lug our suitcases to breakfast I went and got take away coffee/drinks and muffins from the QS buffet and we had them in the room. Went did the early disembark at 7.15 or so and then got a better breakfast at our destination. It was from pc, but we we're in WDW having breakfast by 9.00. For us that was easier than lugging suitcases to breakfast.

* Can anyone tell me if the gym offers any regular yoga classes by chance? If so, are they an extra fee? And if they have them do you need to have your own mat?

I was on the NYE cruise out of Miami.

- Getting on was pretty much the same as Port Canaveral. there is a nice waiting area past the escalators that was not as crowded as the area where you are checking in.

- We used SAS transportation from FLL and were very happy. I think the trip to the airport is a little longer than 20 minutes.

-We stayed at the Marriott in Miami on 2nd street. We were able to walk to the bay district for dinner and they had a shuttle to the port the next day. It was about 2 miles to the port.

- Getting off I thought was very confusing. It was not very clear that you needed to hang in a lounge prior to your group bring called. They would not just let you walk off the ship even after the early passengers were all gone. You get off on the 4th floor so people are packed in the narrow halls with their luggage and bags and it gets tight. Once off the ship it was very quick and we were at the curb waiting for the shuttle in 5 minutes.

I'd love to see navigators from the 4 night that goes to Key West, Nasau and CC if anyone has them(I think the first sailing of that was fairly recent if it has even happened). I really want to know if they have the tastings;-)

I think the first 4 night went out on the 10th, so yesterday.
We are on the 4 night on the 24th.

We leave in a few weeks on the Wonder so I don't know the answers to your MIA specific questions yet. But regarding yoga, they do offer regular yoga free of charge and they have mats. On the cruises we have been on there was a yoga class at Serenity Bay on the CC day. The others were around 5:30 so I always missed them with early dinner. In the morning there was a stretch class before spin. I found the class schedule is different on port vs sea days so you need to check the Navigator each day. If the class is full go on the waiting list people intend to go and then never show up. I was on a waiting list once (i had registered but the CM registered me for the wrong day) and only two people showed up to the class

Regarding pirate night and semi formal night this is from the DCL website On 4-night cruises:
•First night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
•One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
•One "dress-up night"—jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women
•Final night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops

A taxi from the port to MIA is only $25.

My DW and I are on a 5-day on the Wonder, departing Jan. 28. We're staying in Pompano Beach, north of Fort Lauderdale, and so will be driving our own car to the port. I've read differing posts about parking, so plan to park at the port.

However, we're not at all in a hurry get disembark, and want to hang around the ship as much as we can. If the disembarkation takes that long towards the end, can we hang out at the Cove Café until the crowds have cleared and then disembark? Anyone have any insights on this?

Sorry.. read your post wrong. When you said "no car seats," I read it as you didn't need car seats. Should have paid closer attention to the ages.

Agreed... a taxi wouldn't be a good option in your case.

I did see in the Navigators that the people with an early flight were supposed to let Guest Services know, presumably so they could disembark earlier than the rest of us?

Good information. The latest flight we could get was 11:45 am out of FLL, so we'll be doing early disembark, and taking our luggage with us. But, I'll be a little less stressed knowing it's not as far as I thought on a Sunday morning
