Yes it is true! I shall be arriving on the day in which you are departing. :yay:/:sad:
We'll probably arrive at POFQ at around 1 pm.

I'll warm up your seat on the magical depress for the ride home.... unless you want to run like a bunny over to our room and hole up for a couple more days! I can totally explain that to my husband since we are in the business of adopting people on our Disney Trips!

~NM

Lol!! I depart at 10am... Oh well I thought I'd get to meet your crazy boys!!

No, not near the lobby. If you look at the map, the lobby is where the "check-in/front desk" icon is located and the secret entrance is where the laundry room between the marina and wedding gazebo is located. http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/yachbeachmap.htm

Ok, thanks!!!! Now, one final question.....I am guessing that the garden view rooms outside of the gazebo are on the sides of it vs. the part of the u-shape that faces out towards the marina?? So, are the rooms at the bottom of the u actually water view and the sides of the u garden view???

I really hope that makes sense....and if I am correct, is it possible to see the water if you look out sideways from your balcony??.

Sorry for so many questions!!! Just trying to understand the location. :goodvibes

:welcome: to you both. I don't see either of you on the Be Our Guest list, so I will add you.

:banana::banana::banana:

I saw on another thread on the resort boards that the proposed dates of the SAB slide closure are Jan 17-25, and I think pixarmom posted a link confirming those dates. Also, it has been reported that the Luna park pool at the Boardwalk will be down for refurbishment around Jan 28, so I am guessing the SAB slide will be operational before then.

Thank you! Wonder if the section of the pool where the slide dumps out will be closed as well? Looks like one section of the pool is usually closed in Jan??

When it says "slide closed" that means the section of the pool where the slides dumps out will be closed. If you go back to the part of our thread that covers Easter last year, there is great detail of how SAB is divided into three areas. The largest area I believe is the "slide" area which consists of where the slide dumps out, the volleyball area, etc. Then there is the lazy river section. The third section is the zero entry section closest to the YC.

Possibly add on "Close to lobby, if possible"- that will be a location near to food options, access to SAB and bus stops. I think if you request a room in a quiet location, you are more likely to be further away from the lobby. But even still, I don't think the noise will be an issue, at least I don't think it is worth requesting. In my opinion, the noise level you encounter in a room is more a factor of who your neighbors are.

Forgot to add to this! If we stay non-CL at BC again, we will definitely request "full balcony" and "close to lobby." We've loved every single location of all our BC rooms over time - each has its own advantages. But when staying non-CL, we are HUGE fans of our second floor garden view room with a view of the courtyard outside the lobby. My husband thought it was lively, it was very convenient to SAB and BC Marketplace and it allowed us to visit Teena several times to and fro the pool! The feeling of just walking up the stairs to our room was wonderful - made BC feel even more cozy than usual. Just can't say enough about it.

As for the pool situation, you know we're following it closely! Jan. 16-15 for the jib slide at SAB and then January 28-March 1 for the Luna Park renovation. We hope the jib slide is complete by January 28 because we'll be at SAB on the 29th! I almost feel like I'm staying at BC, even though I went with the BWI compromise - BC Marketplace, movies on the beach, Beaches N' Cream and SAB! If really do love a BC room, but I'll just block that out for now!

Help YC experts! I'm a BC vet and have only stayed at YC once in that quiet pool view room - I know a YC expert will be on the way shortly to help out! :)

NM Now that is cruel and unusual punishment using bacon as a lure!! But you Are much nicer then me with cold water placement, I would have gone for the middle of the back lol!
Ugh! I hope they get TT up and running by the time we get there. I am really looking forward to it. Sounds like its working about as well as the new web site!

Looks like there will be a few of us just missing each others visits!

Pixar Mom great pics, can't wait for our YC August visit!

Dee, we have changed our dates a little in order to take full advantage of the new discount. Our dates are YC garden view club level from June 8-June 15. We were able to save about $1400 by changing the dates by one day and applying the discount. This was great news!!

Sounds like a super smart move! I'll revise your dates on the list.

Being on the side of the U shape, you can stand on the balcony and looking left or right (depending on which side of the U you are on) you will see the lake. I would think that being at the bottom of the U where your view of the lake would be impeded by the gazebo you would provably still be charged a water view rate but having never stayed in one of those rooms I cannot definately say this is so. However, I still maintain that if you are in the YC and are getting a GV room, you should definately try for the gazebo view.

As far as the "secret entrance" goes, if you get a room that is close to the door, it is easier to go out the secret entrance to get to the lobby than to walk the winding halls. However, the best way to judge this is the first day you are there, check it out and you'll know for sure then.

Have a great trip.

Just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of some new info and changes at the Disney parks for 2013:

The evening extra magic hours for Disney resort guests will be shortened from 3 hours following park closing to 2 hours. The extra magic morning hour will still be an hour before park opening.

Each day, one of the 4 Walt Disney World theme parks opens one hour early or remains open up to 2 hours after regular closing time.

Yesterday I was looking at the latest version of the Unofficial Guide while I was at the book store. I used to buy the book every year but I haven't bought one in a long time and I was surprised to see how it had changed. Anyway, I was reading the section about what are the good rooms to request at various resorts and the only recommendations for YC were on the 5th floor. I thought the whole 5th floor was CL. Am I wrong about that?

My YC ressie is officially PAID IN FULL!!!!!

Now, I can just sit back and wait for April to come!!! :cool1:

Yes the 5th floor is Club Level.

Sorry if this has been asked before, is Hurricane Hannah's open again? I thought it was due to re-open 18th December 2012 but I have not seen it mentioned recently. Does anyone know what the new menus will include ?

When I worked last Saturday it was still not open and had a new opening date of 1/1 but I was told it was not definite. I will check it out tomorrow when I get in and report back.

Super excited to say we will be at BC from May 9-18! We were supposed to go in Feb. and stay at POR but we were forced to delay till May and decided to splurge. I cannot wait to experience this.
