Hi, just wondering at the Deluxe resorts,

-which ones have cabanas? I know GF, but there are none at BC/YC! (Did I read that right?)

- Is there any "renting/reserving chairs or an umbrella" at any resorts like at Typhoon Lagoon?:beach: thanks:wave2:

Typhoon has chair/umbrella rental and beach comber shacks (like a cabana). I've done the shacks a few times but not the chair/umbrellas.

I guess I should have said, do any of the resorts have a system like at Typhoon Lagoon, a guaranteed paid umbrella.

Do the monorail ones have cabanas?

Do Wilderness and AK have cabanas?

Thanks:beach:

Do you have to be staying at the resort in order to rent a cabana? Might be a silly question, but I don't know the answer, so....

Thanks!

I was just looking up this question and was hoping they were available at BC too. There apparently are 4 of them at the CR pool, but I don't think we really would use it much there.

Since pool hopping is not allowed (with the exception of DVC members) I would say yes, you have to be a resort guest in order to utilize that resorts cabana.

ETA Here's the official word:

Your Own Poolside Palace
Book a beachside cabana at select Resort hotels for a relaxing day or fun-filled evening by the pool.

Enjoy the exclusive use of a shaded oasis equipped with virtually everything you could want for a half day, full day or evening.

Cabanas can be rented by Guests of the following Walt Disney World Resort hotels:

Disney's Contemporary Resort
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney's Polynesian Resort

Guests must be staying at the Disney Resort hotel where the cabana is located and will need to present a room key at time of cabana check-in. One Guest in the party must be at least 18 years old.

Cabana rentals may be cancelled by the Resort hotel due to inclement weather, but Guests will not be penalized in this case. Otherwise, 24 hours' notice must be given. Please be aware that the full price of your cabana will be forfeited in the event of no-shows or same-day cancellations.

Yes. The resort pools are only for resort guests.

Just to play devil's advocate, because I don't know the answer. Aren't the cabanas for the beach area of the resorts? And those areas are not reserved for just resort guest?

Just asking?

Post #9 shows the rules per Disney which states it is just for a resort guest.

I have only seen the cabanas that can be reserved ahead of time at the pools.

Does anyone know the cost of the cabanas at the GF and do you prepay for them. Also what is in each cabana? Considering this for an off park day on our trip this fall.

In terms of the water parks, both TL and BB have cabanas avail AND also umbrella lounges. I'd book them in advance, if you can. WDW-PLAY.

************************************/pools.html Not sure how current their info is but it's a start.

Hmmm... that's not cool. Ok, well here's some info on Poly & CR.

Try to Google "Grand Floridian Fan Site" & you should find specifically what you are looking for.

As mentioned the cabanna's are only at the GF, CR, and Poly. You have to be a resort guest at that resort to rent one. They are located at the pools, not on the beach area.

This info is from the GF thread:

* I don't know the prices for the Poly or CR cabanna's but I would assume they are the same as the GF.

I rented a cabana at GF every day for 4th of July week. I paid every morning not long after I checked in at the cabana. I just charged it to my room key.

There were two padded loungers in front of the cabana with a small table in between the two. Inside there was 2 padded chairs and a padded loveseat plus a coffee table. The furniture was functional but not comfortable. Since there was only two of us we only sat inside while we ate.

There was a small refridgerator stocked with water and sodas. The fruit plate was brought out around 10:30-11:00 am and it was not that great. I've had much better fruit plates at other cabanas in other locations.

There was a TV but I never used it.

There was a telephone to call for private dining. I ordered something every day. The cabana attendant didn't handle this. The attendant did bring us a bucket of ice (we had our refillable mugs with us) and fresh towels. There was no one offering to bring drinks from the bar (every other cabana I've done has had this service).

The price is very reasonable. I wish the Epcot resorts had this service since that's where I normally stay. I think it's a good value for the cost.

Thanks for the info. I feel it is very reasonable as well compared to other cabanas we have rented at other places. Looking forward to trying it on our next trip. This will be our last family trip to WDW before oldest DD goes to college so I'm going all out and looking for lots of fun extras.:beach:

We rented a Cabana (Polar Patio) at BB in Sept 2011. It was not great at all, furniture uncomfortable, no sun, no button to hit for attendant. When we wanted to order lunch I had to go find him to order with 2 little ones with me :( I felt for what you get its VERY Overpriced ! We travel often and ALWAYS book a cabana, our kids are smaller and it just makes things easier. I did not feel like these cabanas helped make our lives easier at all.

We have also rented one at GF in May 2012, this was much better. The attendants were helpful, furniture was more comfortable than BB. The attendant did deliver drinks from the bar. I would definitly rent another GF Cabana.

I do also wish YC/BC did have cabanas.
