I saw this from last year on Disney food blog. I bet it will still be true. They say Super Bowl plays at all the resort food courts. Enjoy! Hubby and I are both sports-indifferent so will be at magic kingdom riding kiddie rides and monorail!

Katie. Pop Century first time feb 1-7. First disney trip in 25 yrs for me, husband last went 40 yrs ago. Hoping for quiet standard room with king bed, but we are small so could double up in a double! Quiet more important than king. Walk can be long. Lake would be nice but not necessary. Prepared to be happy regardless!

Thanks for the info. Usually Petals has the game on.:goodvibes

And that's a long time between trips! For a quieter room, go with Lakeview, upper floor (lake view is standard). King rooms are limited in supply, so it may be difficult but not impossible to get a King and a lakeview room. List your preferences in order of importance... and enjoy! I like your last sentence. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the replies about the rooms being clean. I think I will give it a try! I have wanted to stay there for a while now.

Remember the Allstars and Pop food court as far as I know are ran by a outside company, but still not excuse.

Interesting, this is the first I've ever read that All Stars and Pop food courts are not run by Disney itself. Anyone have more info on this?

Going back on March 22nd. This will be our first time paying extra and getting a Preferred Pool View room. I'm assuming this room should be directly behind Everything Pop!, beside the main pool?

Yes, the Pop 2012 map in post #2 of this thread shows that preferred pool rooms are in the 60's buildings 4 and 5 right next to the Hippy Dippy pool.

Are the rooms clean? I have read multiple reviews about how clean and awesome Pop is, but some reviews on Trip Advisor from Nov/Dec complain about the cleanliness of the rooms. I was super excited to stay there until I read those reviews. For those who have stayed there lately were the rooms up to the normal standards? I realize that it is busy season.

I have to say that PoP is the one Disney resort we've stayed at where we've never had a single housekeeping issue. They were always fast, efficient, and complete. We even stayed there over New Year's last year.

That said, YMMV and around the holidays, the guest load goes up, plus there are more seasonal employees working. That seems to increase the likelihood of running into an issue. Our biggest problem occurred during the holidays at CSR.... and was clearly related to the individual that worked our room for a few days. Occasionally you are going to get somebody who is not up to keeping to the Disney standard, or just has a bad day.

In any case I wouldn't let those few reviews taint your excitement for PoP.

I have stayed at Pop twice now and loved it. Very clean, great mousekeeper, get front desk staff.

How late is the Mom's night out special available in the foodcourt?

The Specialty area, which has the Mom's night out specials closes at 10pm :goodvibes

[Thanks! While AoA looks cool, I could stay at PoP every visit, and always be happy. The discount just makes it that much easier :cool1:

And you do get the best of both...POP where you know you are happy and get the discount AND the ability to walk over and eat at AOA, and explore the resort. :thumbsup2

Agreed! :goodvibes

You make a good observation about the seasonal time, and increased staff which could lead to possible issues.

I can't believe that when I posted that I was off by one day! :rotfl2: Anyway I'll be there Monday night! See you Wednesday morning!!! :cool1:

Must be jet lag in advance. :rotfl2: See you Wed AM! :cool1:

This is news to me. I thought Pepper Market was the only food court not owned and operated by Disney.

Hi everyone! *wave*

I've stayed at POP I think 3 or 4 times and its by far my favourite resort. Last time was last Feb and I'm heading back next month on a solo trip to run the Princess 1/2 Marathon. So excited!

My question for those who have been there recently is about the drink selection in the cafeteria. I know they used to have the slushies machines which was wonderful to get a coke slushie at the end of a long hot day. I don't see it listed in the drinks section at the beginning of this thread. Are the slushies gone? I hope not!

We checked in to Pop yesteday just before noon. We are in the 70's in the court with the giant foosball, big wheel and the Mickey phone. We ate in the food court yesterday for lunch before heading to MK for a couple of hours before leaving for GF and 1900PF for dinner. We enjoyed the character interaction but neither of us ate much due to not feeling well. We've both been very recently sick with really bad colds. We enjoyed the castle show after a few rides and then left right after fireworks. Decided to forgo an early arrival at Epcot and let DS sleep late. Well, we've been in the room ever since because he threw up and was feverish. Just in the last hour has he started to perk up. Hoping we'll make it to DHS tomorrow.

Housekeeping was helpful as I had to strip the entire bed.

You are correct, Everything POP and the food courts at the All-Stars are owned by Disney. Don't know where the PP got the idea that they aren't.

Sorry, slushies have been gone for a couple years.

My grandma and I will be staying at Pop at the end of the month!! She's excited for Harry Potter at Universal and I'm just excited to be back at Disney World!

Can't wait to check out Pop!!

This will be our first POP stay, we usually stay at Movies but really wanted to try a different place. We have always booked preferred, but never a specific section. Since we are driving this year, we would like to be close to parking as well as the Classic Hall. After reading through many posts it looks like the 70s would be best.

How often do you really get requests? We do not cafre if we are on the front or backside, but should we book preferred to help our chance?

Also I have seen a couple of mentions about different building in the 70s, are both close to parking and the Classic Hall?

Thank you all for your help!!!!:cool1::cool1:
