Wow! That looks Gorgeous! I would be happy if that were the only course! What a fantastic job you did!

Oh wow Barb - this looks incredible :)

You must have been preparing food for days!

Everything looks delicious and what a great idea to do a "world tour" with your food and wine selections

Did you make everyone stand in really long lines before feeding them, just to get the true Epcot feel !! ;)

WOW Barb! That spread is absolutely amazing! What a great idea for a party. -Amanda

Wow Barb! What an awesome idea and job you did! Bet it is one that the family will talk about for years.

Thanks so much for sharing!

Happy New Year! :goodvibes

And thanks for all your hard work on this thread!

Let me add my WOW over your spread of food! I want to come to your house! Everything looked fantastic!

Barb, that is AWESOME! Can I come to your house next Christmas?

The entire spread looks terrific! What a great idea! I applaud you for putting it all together! Between this thread and that party, you appear to be a master organizer! :woohoo:

Wow! What a spread! Everything looked wonderful at your party!Happy New Year:)

Another vote here for Christmas at Barb's house next year! I'm very impressed. If I tried something like that, my family would revolt...

Thank you all for your kind words! :goodvibes And you are all most definitely invited to the 4th Annual Christmas Around the World Party. Believe me, I made enough food to feed all of you...and your families too. :lmao:

First of all, Happy New Year! I don't get to reply to this thread (or any thread) as often as I'd like to, but I'm still here and love seeing the live updates.

Second, wow to your family party! What an ambitious concept, and it looks like it was a complete success. :goodvibes

Third, I'd be happy to contribute to this thread. Let me see what I can do...I may have some food pics worth sharing. ;)

Hi Donald!

It's so great to see your name again here. It seems like forever! :worried: But of course, as a mother of a college student, I totally understand.
And I of course I would love to have you contribute to the live thread! :thumbsup2

I'm still here!!!
I do still plan to do live reviews during our January trip Barb, sorry I didn't pm back right away (too much real life going on)

The trip is me, Tricia, my middle son L, and I just recently added my Mom.
I took her in December 2010 but the record colds put a little damper on it for her so I'm taking her again.
She is 77 and having a harder time getting around, but not enough to use an ECV or anything...

Sooooo, as of now we won't be doing DDP because I have an AP and TIW.
I'm pretty sure our ADRs are firm now (notice I said "pretty" sure;))

A lot of these are not new to us, some are. I wanted to try a few places that didn't make the list but I just couldn't knock out L's favs (even if I don't like them...taking one for the team. Yes, I'm talking to you Chef Mickey's! YUCK)

We will be there Jan 25- Feb 1

The Plaza (D)
Tusker House (B)
Chefs de France (L) (to see Remy!)
Sci Fi (L)
Yachtsman (D)
Crystal Palace (B)
Chef Mickey (B)

I also plan to try BOG CS Lunch. We'll see how crazy it is. Our week is about the slowest of the year so that might help.
I'm missing out on some fav's like Jiko...but we will be back in a few months anyway.
We are doing a split stay on rented DVC points at AKL Jambo and BLT.

Good to hear you are still a "go". Thanks Tricia! :thumbsup2

Your pictures look great! Awesome spread. I was wondering if I could ask you a question. You probably don't remember but I am from your area. We are leaving this Friday, flying Frontier. I think the flight leaves at 4 pm. How early would you get to the airport?

Yes, I do remember you! :) I love the Central Illinois Regional Airport because it is so easy. I would say that if you are there by 3 p.m. you would be fine. :thumbsup2 Have a great trip!

She has volunteered to do live updates for us while there! :thumbsup2

HAVE A GREAT TRIP, emmebear & quietgirl!!! :cool1:

Happy New Year to all on this thread but especially Barb!

Have been refusing to post on disboards as for the first time in nine years I have no future trip planned but I can't help myself - still been checking in every day to see what scrummy food everyone else is enjoying.

Here's to a lottery win in 2013 and a last minute trip to WDW :)

Sorry I dropped off the map. We ended up trading family sickness ( one version was fever, cough, congestion; the other was intestinal) for much of the trip. We still had fun, but our pace and plans got adjusted, and sadly, photos of food got lost in the shuffle. I apologize profusely. My headline food news: Artist's Point. I was afraid the DS's (10 and 12) would not find much to eat, but they LOVED it! In fact the 10 year old said "I wish I had another hand so I could give it THREE thumbs up." :rotfl2:

Anyway...sorry again. I feel badly I let you all down. Happy New Year!

All I can say is two weeks from tonight I will be at WDW! I'm hoping to go to the Poly to get a Lapu Lapu with our good friends but I don't know? And I'm not sure where we will be eating but I can't wait! ;)

Sorry I'm a little late tonight, but I do have several great updates for your viewing pleasure. :thumbsup2

Our First Update of the Day was sent to us by our third reporter who arrived at Disney World yesterday, glasslipper.

Her first meal yesterday at Disney World was from...

photo-GS3.jpg

glasslipper said, "I liked it but I didn't like the beans."

photo-GS2.jpg

Then for their dessert, they had...

photo-GS4.jpg

Beignets

"Very good!"

photo-GS5.jpg

"DH had ice cream for dessert, he liked it but they gave him so much!"

Then glasslipper said, "We went to Magic Kingdom last night and had a Mickey pretzel as a snack!
It was very good and very cute!"

Second Plate: More Potatoes (never met one I didn't like ;) ), Watermelon, Bacon, and a Mickey Waffle

Joyce said, "Even thought the Benedict was more essence of lobster and the Mad Hatter was clearly at the end of his shift, the food was solid, especially the Boursin cheese on the bagel. And we adored Alice.
Almost made up for the ongoing drama with Katy's lost luggage." :worried:
