Show Me Your Smolder! October 2012 B-Day TR NEW 4/1 Trip Wrap Up & NEW PTR LINK!

Day 4 Continued: Tuesday October 23rd

Again, instead of waiting in line all day, we walked right up to the theater just a few minutes before the 5:30 pm Hanson show and got into seats near a tree to give DS room to play again. Sure it was not front row, but it was still better than standing in line with a toddler all day watching the day go by!

1214.jpg

I'm not going to lie, I cracked up laughing when the guy from the night before who had tried to school me on Hanson showed up again!! He was sitting down the bench from us this time and I don't think he noticed us. He is either a closet fan, or he just really enjoyed what he had heard the night before.

We settled in for the show, and before long, out they came!

A short video of DS getting into the action!

And the chorus of Mmmbop, because I know you all want to hear it again! :rotfl:

That night, they played...

Where's the Love
Mmmbop
Can't Stop
Waiting for This
Been There Before
Crazy Beautiful
Thinking Bout Something
Give a Little

Another great set! I was especially happy to hear Crazy Beautiful, because they always do a lot of audience interaction during that song. I think that is actually the point in which we got that video of DS clapping along as Taylor encouraged us to! DS spent most of the show playing with his Thomas, but he did indulge me a little by dancing with me.

Of course, as soon as the show was over and we left the theater, I wanted to go back for the second show. DH is very patient, but he was reaching his Hanson limit so we made an agreement instead to kill some time until the next set and have dinner outside at the Liberty Inn so we could hear the set without having to actually go in the theater. I was on board for that plan!

We walked over to nearby Japan and spent some time checking out the huge store there (sorry, I forget what it's called), and then just exploring the gardens.

1221.jpg

DS began asking to eat, so we had to get back over to America a little sooner than we had planned. The show had not started yet when we sat down to eat, but started shortly after. I was happy to at least listen to my favorite band and sing while eating!

1225.jpg

I started keeping track of the set list, but apparently I forgot to finish my notes for the night because they end three songs in. However, I do know the reason for that, and I hope none of you will judge me for it!! lol

We finished eating while they were still playing, so we got a slow start moving, but eventually we had DS packed up in the stroller and were starting to walk away from the restaurant when I noticed from the corner of my eye a stroller coming towards us. I didn't recognize the girl pushing it, but I sure recognized the other girl walking behind her holding another child on her hip! I grabbed DH's hand as they passed and said, "That's Zac Hanson's wife!" Yes, I know all of their names, what they look like, and their kids' names in order of arrival. Again, please don't judge me!! lol And my darling DH, wonderful as he is, turned to me entirely serious and said, "Do you want to follow her?" LMAO! Now, I used to joke before we left on this trip that maybe we would run into some Hansons in line and DS would become instant BFFs with their kids, but I didn't actually plan to run into any of them!! I would have fully committed to that plan, though, were I not wearing a BIG GIANT HANSON T-SHIRT at the time!!!

1299-Copy.jpg

She is actually in this photo lol

They walked around in front of the American Adventure for awhile, and apparently were looking for the CS because that's where they ended up. DH even asked if I wanted to go eat dinner again (I'm pretty sure he was joking that time though!) and get a table next to them.

The set was almost over, so we walked closer to the theater to catch the end, and that's when I spotted them. MORE HANSONS! This time, it was Isaac's wife with two of Hanson's sisters kind of forming a circle around Isaac's 2 boys while they played. My Facebook status at that moment said, "Spotting Hanson wives kids & siblings all over world showcase. Must. Not. Stalk." And I didn't, I promise!

DH stopped to grab one last photo of them on stage.

1300-Copy.jpg

And DS was thoroughly unimpressed.

1303-Copy.jpg

After the set, DH took some time taking some nighttime shots before we headed out.

We stopped for one last Photopass picture in Epcot, and I have to say, I didn't expect them to come out. The photographer kept telling everyone to be really still to get a good photo and I was thinking to myself "With a toddler? Yeah right!"

Photo0337FourBySix.jpg

Photo0343FourBySix.jpg

I think they turned out pretty great!! We decided it was time to call it a night since we had our earliest wakeup call of the whole trip the next morning. It was DS's last night being 1 years old!!

UP NEXT: Turning Two!

How is it we are always on here putting up posts at the same time? Just weird.

So OK there Khertz - you said not to judge, but sorry I gotta - you are a little TOO into Hanson there if you recognize their wives and sisters. :scared1: I guess the fact that you didn't ACTUALLY stalk them makes it OK though. Well, not really! :goodvibes

I wanted to comment those last two photopass pictures - I really love the borders they've come up with there, especally the ones with all the countries. Very cool. And also DS's bored look when listening to the show towards the end: Get used to that with Mommy and Daddy's music.

Too funny with the Hansons :lmao:

I thought you showed considerable restraint since you didn't take any pictures of the wife/kids! :goodvibes Or maybe you did and just didn't post them.

Great updates!

:lmao: I don't know! I guess I will need to go jump over to your TR now too!

I know, I know, I expected judgment. :rotfl: I will just say, I know their wives & sisters because as a teen I was insanely obsessed and wanted to collect every picture of Hanson & Co. that I possibly could! Nowadays, I'll still pick up a People magazine when their family is featured (which it is every couple of years when one of them has a new baby), but that's about the extent of it. Taylor's wife was not there, but she is actually very sweet the couple of times I have talked to her at concerts. :thumbsup2

Some of the borders they added this year were great, especially the Epcot ones and I really liked the DHS ones. I wasn't so impressed with the MK ones, which is a bummer since that's where most of our Photopass pictures are taken.

Too funny with the Hansons :lmao:

Great updates!

:lmao::rotfl: I didn't take any!!! Believe me, my inner 15 year old wanted to desperately. :rotfl2:

From these pictures we got, you would never know DS actually enjoyed meeting Daisy!
Um... toddler. Even when they're happy, they're not. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Since we were right there, why not stop in for the Gran Fiesta Tour?
Is it even possible to walk through the Mexico side of the World Showcase with a toddler and not stop to ride It's a Small Mexico??? :confused3

I've tried, I can personally say I've never seen it happen.

After meeting Daisy, then Donald, then riding Donald's ride, we were about duck'd out for the evening!
I wonder if anyone else in your group might feel this way about some certain musical act... :rolleyes1

DH and I found these great t-shirts for each pavilion country and thought it would be great fun for me to get the Italy one and him to get the Germany in honor of our respective heritages, but we could only find each shirt in the opposite one's size.
Great idea. Too bad it didn't work out.

I'm not going to lie, I cracked up laughing when the guy from the night before who had tried to school me on Hanson showed up again!! He was sitting down the bench from us this time and I don't think he noticed us. He is either a closet fan, or he just really enjoyed what he had heard the night before.
Well, he's obviously not such a closet fan. He's the biggest Hanson fan you've ever met. He knows everything about them, remember.

DH is very patient, but he was reaching his Hanson limit so we made an agreement instead to kill some time until the next set and have dinner outside at the Liberty Inn so we could hear the set without having to actually go in the theater. I was on board for that plan!
Great compromise. But you still owe him. :rotfl2:

However, I do know the reason for that, and I hope none of you will judge me for it!! lol
So hard to be nice right now.... :rolleyes1

If only they had a small Italy shirt. :headache:

My Facebook status at that moment said, "Spotting Hanson wives kids & siblings all over world showcase. Must. Not. Stalk." And I didn't, I promise!
But did you Facebook stalk them??? :confused3:rotfl2:

The only thing that would have made the Hanson family part any better would have been if Superfan Hanson Expert walked up to one of the wives and started spouting off inaccurate information about the band. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Preach!

Is it even possible to walk through the Mexico side of the World Showcase and not stop to ride It's a Small Mexico??? :confused3

I've tried, I can personally say I've never seen it happen.

I don't think so. I think there is some kind of homing device in that pyramid...

I wonder if anyone else in your group might feel this way about some certain musical act... :rolleyes1

Gasp! Never! I'm shocked you would ever suggest such a thing!

Great idea. Too bad it didn't work out.

I know, it is really rare that we find shirts like that in WS that we would like. But I guess we were just looking for popular sizes? :confused3

Well, he's obviously not such a closet fan. He's the biggest Hanson fan you've ever met. He knows everything about them, remember.

:lmao: Of course! You are totally right!

Great compromise. But you still owe him. :rotfl2:

Don't let him fool you, he has a good time! Okay maybe 3 1/2 shows in 2 nights was a bit much, but he doesn't mind seeing them most of the time.

So hard to be nice right now.... :rolleyes1

I have an older male cousin and a lot of uncles who have been making fun of my love for Hanson since I was 12 years old, I doubt you could say anything to shock me! :rotfl: And there was DH's one college friend who tried to rip me a new one for liking them...I think he was a closet fan in denial though. :rotfl2:

 :faint: :rotfl:

Oh, if only you had seen me in my prime stalking days!! I totally would have taken him up on that offer back then!!

If only they had a small Italy shirt. :headache:

Gah, you are so right!!! :headache:

But did you Facebook stalk them??? :confused3:rotfl2:

I can say honestly, NO! :rotfl:

The only thing that would have made the Hanson family part any better would have been if Superfan Hanson Expert walked up to one of the wives and started spouting off inaccurate information about the band. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

So true!! I probably would have fell out in the middle of World Showcase laughing!

::yes::

Now how did I know you & Pete were going to come in here & pick on me first?! ;)

Sorry to break it to you, but that is the end of our Hanson adventures for the trip! :( It's okay, I'm sad about it too!

Okay, you are officially the biggest Hanson fan on the planet, not that I have to tell YOU that!:rotfl2: You know all their kids names?! STALKER much?!:lmao:

My two favorite pics so far in this TR are the one of Paxton in the stroller totally done with this whole Hanson thing! And the one of him looking out over the railing towards the lake. So cool!!

Now how did I know you & Pete were going to come in here & pick on me first?!

Oh now, we're only teasing. Did I tell you about how I made my wife watch the Stanley Cup finals in Hawaii during our honeymoon because the Buffalo Sabres were in it? (Though it was sort of fun since the games were on mid-afternoon, and we watched them sitting at a beach bar.)

We all have our obsessions. (Besides Disney of course.)

Sadly, I have to tell you, there are people out there worse than me. I saw a few of them at the concert! :lmao:

I loved the ones DH took over DS's shoulder as he looked out at SE. That's why I posted all 3, I couldn't pick my favorite!!

Oh, yes, I'm just teasing as well! It doesn't bother me, I've heard worse! ::yes:: And besides, y'all think this is bad? You don't even know the half of what went on when I was in middle school/high school!!! :rotfl2:

What is it about Hawaii? I sat down to watch the Lost season finale while we were there, and DH was not amused! :lmao: It was kind of hard not to, we were in Hawaii where it is filmed and had JUST taken a tour of filming locations the day before!!

It's official - You ARE Hanson's biggest fan! How many times did you see them play?

Actually, although I was never a Hanson fan, I did enjoy that clip you posted. No - seriously - there are bands that are so much better live than in their radio ready versions of pop songs.

But you're right - DS was NOT impressed with the whole thing.

More great PP pics and didn't your parents know that taking 100's of pictures is mandatory for any Disney trip? :rotfl:

Oh, if only you had seen me in my prime stalking days!! I totally would have taken him up on that offer back then!!
Prime stalking days, huh? :rolleyes1 So you're just a recreational stalker now???

Now how did I know you & Pete were going to come in here & pick on me first?!
I have no idea how you could have known that. You must be psychic. :rotfl2:

Sorry to break it to you, but that is the end of our Hanson adventures for the trip! :( It's okay, I'm sad about it too!
But I'm going to guess this is how your DH felt about that, even if he wouldn't actually say it to you...
:banana::yay::woohoo::cool1::dancer:

Sadly, I have to tell you, there are people out there worse than me. I saw a few of them at the concert! :lmao:
Really, they still have more than 1 or 2 fans? :duck:

Oh, yes, I'm just teasing as well! It doesn't bother me, I've heard worse! ::yes::
I'm glad you have a sense of humor about it. Although, I felt pretty confident that having been a Hanson fan for so long, you'd definitely heard it all and could handle it.:thumbsup2

And besides, y'all think this is bad? You don't even know the half of what went on when I was in middle school/high school!!! :rotfl2:
:faint: Any restraining orders? :confused3:rotfl:

Um... ok, I can go along with this one. I loved Lost and, yeah, if I'd just toured the filming locations and there was a new episode on, it would be hard not to watch.

:lmao: Well, at least the biggest one y'all will probably ever encounter here on the DIS, but I can promise you, not the biggest to exist! We went into the theater for 3 shows and listening to the music while eating was technically the 4th for the trip! Glad you enjoyed the clip. :goodvibes Mmmbop has definitely gotten better with time. :thumbsup2 I still love their first CD of course, but their newer music...it just gets better and better with each one they release!!

Yeah, I think DS was kind of over it by the end of that night. :rotfl2: He had put up with all the shows before that like a little champ though! I was impressed. I usually go to Hanson shows with my sister and my friends, although DH has accompanied me a couple of times too, so it was really fun enjoying the experience with my whole family. Well, for me at least! :rotfl:

My mom used to be crazy about taking pictures, but I have noticed she has started slacking lately! :lmao: I will have to re-school her on what is an appropriate amount of pictures to take in Disney World.

Prime stalking days, huh? :rolleyes1 So you're just a recreational stalker now???

I'll just say, there was a particular show in Nashville where we may or may not have paid extra money for a tour of the venue with the express purpose of looking for Hansons. :rolleyes1 Why do I keep adding fuel to this fire? :lmao:

I have no idea how you could have known that. You must be psychic. :rotfl2:

But I'm going to guess this is how your DH felt about that, even if he wouldn't actually say it to you...
:banana::yay::woohoo::cool1::dancer:

Probably so! And yes, he would actually say it to me. :rotfl:

Did you miss the picture of the girls sitting outside in line all day? :confused3

I'm glad you have a sense of humor about it. Although, I felt pretty confident that having been a Hanson fan for so long, you'd definitely heard it all and could handle it.:thumbsup2

Absolutely! At 12, I cried about it, but then I bucked up. :lmao:

:faint: Any restraining orders?

:rotfl: Never been caught! :cool2: No, I'm kidding...I wasn't talking about the stalking, more the walls plastered from floor to ceiling with posters, Hanson fan fiction (oh yes, it's real!), and hundreds of VHS tapes with recordings of all of their TV appearances... Again, :rolleyes1

Um... ok, I can go along with this one. I loved Lost and, yeah, if I'd just toured the filming locations and there was a new episode on, it would be hard not to watch.

He was SO annoyed by the fact that I spent 2 hours watching the season finale one of our nights there! But really, how can you not under those circumstances???? That tour was definitely one of the coolest & most amazing things I have ever experienced!!

Catching up!

Even thouh Paxton got scared of POTC, it's so awesome that he didn't cry! So sad that he didn't like the carousel this time though! It was funny reading that he was avoiding it later on though!

Love all that space available! After having stayed on property for our past two trips, I'm kinda looking forward to getting back to my parents' timeshare. It's just a more relaxed atmosphere.

Awww, even though he cried in Bruce's mouth, it's still a cute picture to capture to remember that moment!

Ooo, you got an awesome shot of Figment's table in his kitchen! I've never been able to see it so detailed before.

So glad to hear that the surgery he had was successful!

Haha, I love the video of trying Beverly! I have to say that I also think it's adorable how your DH said, "Watch Mama."

WHOA, that is some dedication to arrive THAT early to line up for Hanson!!! I don't know of any group where I'd do that even when I was still a teenager. I loved Nsync, but waiting that long while in a DISNEY PARK just seems so crazy to me especially when it's out in the sun! I guess they could take breaks and go off to get delicious food from around the world though! It's so awesome that you were able to see them without having to wait for so long. Must've been so fun for you!

Aww, I wish I would've checked your TR sooner for the voting on FB!

HAHA, I had to read the part about Hanson stalking out loud to my husband. I do a good amount of stalking of random people in the parks, so I definitely would have done so with the Hanson family members!

I was so disappointed that he was freaked out by the carousel this time! That was our go-to ride in the afternoons when the lines were long everywhere else!! Hopefully it was just a one-trip kind of fear and he will enjoy it next time.

As much as I feel like I would love to stay on Disney property again, I think we have gotten so spoiled by the space and amenities at Bonnet Creek. After just one night of us being crammed together in a hotel room at a Disney resort, I think we would all go crazy! I'm hoping one day we can try renting points to stay at a DVC resort or something so we can still get the Disney resort without sacrificing space. It is just so hard to part with the money now though since the timeshare is paid off so we are practically staying for free!

I'm glad we got that video of him trying Beverly, but I wish he had given more of a reaction! He was just kind of like, "Ugh, why did you give me that, Mom?" :rotfl:

It was SO fun getting to see Hanson so many times, and without having to sit in line all day. Sure it would be more fun to be up at the front for the show, but I had a great time being in the back, and even better, I didn't have to wait in line. We walked right in for every show we attended! I remember they were coming to the House of Blues my freshman year of high school, and oh how badly my friends and I wanted to get there super super early and sit outside all day long in line so we could get as close to the front as possible. But it was the first day of school!! :( So while everyone else was able to get there early, we had to go after school and our spot in line was down the block and around the corner from the HOB! :rotfl: Now we just go early enough to eat a meal there, and get in the dinner line!

I was so wishing I had not chosen to put on a big obvious Hanson shirt (at least obvious to anyone who knows Hanson...it's a line from one of their songs written all huge) so I could let Paxton "mingle" with them without them thinking I was a weird creeper. :rotfl2:

Day 5: Wednesday October 24th

It was here, our absolute earliest park morning of the whole trip, and for good reason. It was DS's 2nd birthday! The alarms were set for 6:15 am and we were up and moving when it went off. DH went out into the kitchen and DS immediately stood up in the Pack n Play and proclaimed, "Hey!" It was really adorable to hear. So since he was up, I went out to sing him Happy Birthday! He just loved it, although I don't know that he realized it was actually his birthday.

We were leaving Bonnet Creek at 6:50 am and arrived at the TTC at 7:05 am. We were the very first two cars in the very first row of the parking lot. My mom thought that was so awesome that she took a picture. lol

1333.jpg

Since the express monorail (and possibly even the resort monorail? Not sure) was not operating yet, we took the ferry boat over to the Magic Kingdom. It was still very dark and even sprinkling a little bit, which made me a little nervous that our day would be a washout if the rain started really coming down. Luckily, I'll spare you the suspense, it was a beautiful day to celebrate a birthday in the Magic Kingdom!

Space Mountain as we approach MK

We got up to the gates at 7:15 am, and they were not even letting people through the turnstiles yet so we knew we were in for a bit of a wait. But we really wanted to get as much time as we could on Main Street before breakfast.

We did get to see something exciting...the train parked in front of the station!

Finally they scanned our tickets and held us to the side of the plaza in front of the train station, and we were eventually let into the park at around 7:30 am.

Walking with Poppi

We went up to the top of the hub to get some pictures, both with our cameras and finally when Photopass came out, we got some pictures with them too! It seemed like they were out a little sooner than they were last year, which was nice so we could get some good photos before the park started filling up and before going to check in for our breakfast ADR.

1509_zps88f9eb4c.jpg

DS enjoyed playing around in front of the Castle, since we were giving him a little room to run with no people around. When he found a couple of ducks, he was even more excited! He did only watch them and point at them from afar, I didn't let him terrorize the poor ducks like some kids do!

1520_zpsde85848a.jpg

DH took a spin around the hub to take pictures of the different Halloween character statues. So cute! I love little touches like that, just having the characters dressed up in costume.

Okay, NOW we were ready to go over and check in for breakfast! lol We made our way over to The Crystal Palace to check in for our 8:10 am breakfast ADR. When planning this trip, I just couldn't plan a more perfect way to start off DS's 2nd birthday than with an early morning breakfast with Pooh & Friends and Crystal Palace! I'm not a huge fan of the Winnie the Pooh characters by any means, but we had such a great time at this breakfast last year, it seemed like the perfect way to spend his birthday this year. I have a feeling this breakfast will be a staple of our trips for years to come, whether it is a birthday trip or not.

We only waited for a few minutes before our name was called and we were headed inside. We sat on the right side of the restaurant this time, towards the center so we were very close to the buffet, which was great! Since I had noted his birthday on the reservation, we also were happy to find that our table was sprinkled with Mickey confetti when we sat down!

DH and my parents went up to the buffet first while I got DS settled in his high chair. DH got a plate of food for himself and one for DS, so when they came back, I was able to go up for my first plate. It's also the only one I remembered to take a photo of!

For my first trip up to the buffet, I got some fruit, a chocolate pastry, a biscuit, some eggs, and of course, the greatest breakfast food ever created, PUFFED FRENCH TOAST!! I could probably pay the price for that buffet and eat absolutely nothing but that delicious puffed French toast goodness.

DS checking out the characters circulating the room

Our first characters arrived at our table at the same time, Eeyore and Pooh! Eeyore stopped first while Pooh went to the next table over to see them and we took pictures with Eeyore. I was happy he was first to our table, because he was the only one we didn't see last time. Eeyore seemed very touched that he had his own space to sign in DS's autograph book!

Day 5 Continued: Wednesday October 24th

Excited after meeting his first character of the day!

Right after Eeyore left, Pooh Bear came over. He is my mom's favorite character, so she wanted to be sure she got a good photo of herself, Pooh, and DS to hang in her house.

DS really loved meeting both Eeyore and Pooh Bear! When they left, he had a little time to eat, and he went crazy on some puffed French toast! Next up was Piglet, who too was very excited to find his picture in DS's autograph book.

There was a very cute moment when DS gave Piglet a kiss, but of course, no one had the camera ready!! After that they had the little Friendship Day parade around the restaurant, and I debated taking DS out of the highchair and joining it for so long that we only were able to catch it at the end.

Then Tigger came to visit! Unfortunately, by this time, DS was about tired of seeing that autograph book come in and out of his view without it being put in his hands, so when Tigger came, he'd had it. He started throwing an epic fit over that freaking book!! Tigger kept trying to get close for a picture, but DS would start screaming and Tigger would step away. It was almost comical.

So Tigger left with many apologies from us and without getting a good picture with DS. Our server saved the day with a birthday cupcake! That got those tears dried up instantly, especially when we started singing Happy Birthday to him!

He also received a birthday card signed by Pooh, Piglet, Tigger & Eeyore, which DS enjoyed checking out.

We were finished eating by that point and the park had opened, so DH took our tickets and left to get some FP's for Peter Pan. The plan for the day was to spend the entire day doing the attractions DS could participate in.

While he was gone and we were getting up from the table, Tigger was passing by to head to the other side of the restaurant. Now that DS was calmed down, we asked the character handler if we could try to get a picture, and she asked Tigger to stop.

Success!

We met up with DH outside of the restaurant and we stopped to figure out where to go first.

UP NEXT: DS's first attraction as a 2 year old!

Aww, what better way to celebrate a 2nd birthday than a breakfast at Crystal Palace? Glad the cupcake cheered him up! :)

That was exactly my thought!! DS seemed to agree, except for the part when he freaked out over the book. :lmao: Thank goodness that waitress brought the cupcake when she did!! Definitely saved the morning.

Awesome start to the day!! Even with the meltdown, it seems like you guys had a great morning!! Love those pics of Main St and the castle!!
