Instead of a Man Law, it is now my New Year's resolution.

I woke up this morning and the sun was shining, the birds were chirping and I think my daughter still loves me. The only remnant from last night is a slight headache. Have to give it to Charlie and the UL players. They wanted it and beat the crap out of Florida. Bet the bunch of ADs that didn't name him a Head Coach when they had a chance are kicking themselves.

UL did show up to play. Maybe FL thought they would be an easy game as well. As for that resolution, good thing. Doesn't look like UK is as strong in basketball this year, although, they did play a good game against UL the other night.

If the shirts had "Disdad's Man Date" across the back Aaron would have had a much harder time getting people interested in them.

I wouldn't normally care - but I'm suspicious of his "sickness". Recently he's met a woman who is "changing" him - looks, priorities, work habits....in other words...he's distracted by her.

Hi all! Quick check in here. Next week at this time we're on a plane to our happy place Looking forward to meeting up with the dads at the "convention". I had to quote that word because DW turned to me last night and asked "Why are you guys calling it a 'convention'?" (imagine her fingers with the air quotes up as she says it) "It's just a bunch of you guys getting together to ride rides and eat food and drink beer and stuff. It's more like an expensive play-date for you men!" Well... we have to call it SOMETHING!

I mean come on, we have our own web site and everything.

If the shirts had "Disdad's Man Date" across the back Aaron would have had a much harder time getting people interested in them.

"Man Date" would change the tone of the group quite a bit. I think they have a weekend for that at a different time of year.

Back at work (and the DIS) after a nice long 5 day weekend. 2 days of work, 2 days off, a half day of work on Monday, the longest Tuesday imaginable, then I'm on an airplane for the DisDad's Play Date (or whatever we're calling it now)

DW's birthday is the day we fly down. We arrive just after 4 and her parents are picking us up so we can bypass ME and go straight for the MK where it's going to be Casey's Corn Dogs (her favorite), a Dole Whip or two (duh) and WISHES. Pretty good way to spend a birthday.

Weather for the trip overall is looking good. Race time temps are in the upper '50s.

Me - I'm chained to my desk once again. After covering 3 days of vacation for my fellow finance guy last week....he's now been sick the last two days.

This means he's worked exactly two days since the 21st of December.

We had a long talk (via google translate) with her last night where my wife and I were pretty much the only ones talking. We asked if she wanted us to come to Ukraine and get her. She said no. So that's the end of that. Thanks for your prayers and words of encouragement. DW and I are doing fine. I'm not sad at all- in fact I'm relieved that after 5 months of wondering, we at least have an answer and can now think about other things.
