FINALLY Time for a Margarita!
Friday, November 9, Part 4
We left off with Brandon and I going back to our lovely new royal room at POR to nap for a little while. As exhausted as I was from such an early morning, I didn't really nap that much, maybe 30 minutes. I think I was anxious to get to the next park of the day...Epcot!
So I got up and got ready, and then made Brandon get up and get ready and before I knew it, we were ready to go to Epcot!
I took a picture of our view from right outside of our door on the way to the car:
Not too bad! I love the moderate resorts, but I really miss the balconies at the deluxes! Apparently I've become somewhat of a deluxe snob...
No, just kidding! I love all of the Disney resorts equally! Except for the Wilderness Lodge and the Beach Club...which just happen to be deluxes...
Anyway, one of the awesome things about POR is how close it is to Epcot, it's seriously maybe a 30 second drive! We parked and walked to the entrance, where I noticed new Christmas decorations that weren't there the night before:
Brandon made fun of me for taking a picture of that, but I don't care, I thought it was cute, a huge World ornament!
We were supposed to go right to the World Showcase for more Food and Wine, but we stopped for a Photopass picture along the way:
When we were finished taking our picture and started walking closer to Spaceship Earth, Brandon noticed something waaaaay on the top of it...he said it was a hawk and I didn't believe him. So he took the camera and zoomed in as much as he possibly could and...
it WAS a hawk! How he saw that, I don't know, but he has obnoxiously good eyesight!
He stayed to look at it as I walked up ahead a little, and once he caught up with me, he told me he was trying to take pictures of me from behind, looking at Spaceship Earth, but people kept getting in the way, so I tried to just stand there, with my back to him for a few minutes so he could take a picture, but they all came out terrible!
See? Awful! I don't know how hard it is to take a picture of someone from behind, but he was having such a difficult time with it! Finally he made me stand in front of the Fountain and got a decent shot:
and then I had to take one of the sun and the Fountain, just because it looked so beautiful:
Once all of that drama was over (and I say drama because you should have seen how many pictures of me he took in front of Spaceship Earth!
) we were finally on our way to the World Showcase!
When we got there, the first thing I wanted to do was get a margarita from La Cava! If you have read any of my past TR's, you know how obsessed I am with this place! And how I missed out on getting one in May because of my near death experience with the heat! So we headed into Mexico...and left empty handed! The line was ridiculous and I just didn't feel like waiting! So on our way out, I decided to try something new, something I've always wanted...
The Fiesta Margarita!
I always see people drinking these in the WS and I always think they look so pretty and festive, and even though I don't really like frozen margaritas all that much, I decided to give it a try! Unfortunately, I didn't like the bottom layer at all, which was mango, but the other 2 layers were awesome! And there definitely was not enough salt on that cup..I need lots of salt with my margaritas! So even though it wasn't as good as a La Cava margarita, it was still pretty yummy! A good substitute when the line at La Cava is too long!
Finally we were ready to hit the Food and Wine booths, we had an ADR that night, but not til much later, so we wanted a few things from the booths to snack on! I stopped in China and got the pork potstickers, which were pretty good:
Then we stopped in South Africa and Brandon got a Spinach and Paneer Cheese Pocket, and apparently a beer somewhere along the way:
I tried the pocket, it was really good, even though it looked kind of plain! It made me wish I got my own, but I had other places in mind! Once Brandon was finished with his pocket, we headed over to my destination, enjoying the absolutely stunning view along the way!
I cannot WAIT to see you again, World Showcase! 47 DAYS!
Up next-a little more Food and Wine, a LONG walk, and a late ADR!
