We actually want to be in the Alligator Bayou rooms when we stay at POR in May. Those rooms looks so rustic and charming to me! Originally I booked a preferred room to guarantee us the rooms in AB... with the new promotion that is out preferred rooms do not seem to be included. I have the choice of garden, water or river. Is there one or the other that would give us more options to being in AB?

Technically, there are no Garden View category rooms in the preferred buildings at all (the best Garden View rooms for you would be to ask for buildings 16 or 17). There are 6 Water View rooms in building 18, and 31 River View rooms in 14/27.

Personally, I would stick with the cheaper Garden View category (for which there are lots of rooms in AB) and also fax your request to the resort shortly before you arrive.

We are looking to take advantage of the 25% off promo. We're currently booked with the AAA rate for a preferred room. The savings is quite a bit considering we have 3 rooms. Unfortunately, preferred rooms are not on the deal as of now.

If we were to switch to a river room it would be in AB, because their are 5 in one of our parties.

Could someone tell me what buildings have river view in AB besides 38 obviously. I know 3 of the preferred buildings have river views, but would they even be in play?

We are checking in on January 12. We are staying in Royal Room - Standard View. We would like to be close to the main buildling and south depot possible. Should I request Oak Manor or Parterre Place? I would like to fax a room request in.

Thanks for your help!

Cjsm&d I think Andre also answered your questions too! :woohoo: Must have been typing at the same time!

AB 14, 27 and 38 all have River View category rooms. There are none in 18 due to the orientation of the building.

Although Oak may be generally better, I would tend to suggest that you don't ask for any specific building, but ask instead for what you actually want - i.e. "a room close to the main building and South Depot". That way they would be able to find you the best match for your wishes in either building, rather than you asking specifically for Oak Manor and missing out on a better room which might happen to become available in Parterre Place.

No Mickey Mail yet :(

We booked early December and leave in 25 days :confused3
At what point should I be worried?
The kids have been so excited to check the mail every day since we told them about the trip!!! Where oh where is my Mickey Mail???

Evidently there are FD PINs going out to Canadians for the exact dates of our trip so maybe we will be lucky enough to get that little piece of mail too!!

We got our Mickey Mail yesterday. So exciting to get those luggage tags and all the vouchers! pixiedust:

I don't know if it's related to when you paid off your package, but we were paid in full on 12/17 -- so I guess it took a little over 2 weeks from then until we got everything in the mail.

I have a question about the new website design. There's no opportunity to enter a celebration when booking dining now. And the ADRs I made before the site change no longer indicate anything. Neither does my hotel reservation.

We are going for my 40th birthday, and I want to make sure everyone knows it hahaha ;) Actually being there on my real birthday is a dream come true!

I'm guessing I should just call... but I wondered if anyone knows anything about this change.

But I wanted AB rooms and wanted to be close to the main building/ main bus stop.
Thanks!!

We are going April 28-May 4 and I was able to get preferred rooms with the discount. Call back and get another cast member....have you checked online? I was able to look online today and see the same price I got with the Disney Visa for my dates with the preferred included.....might be your dates that don't have preferred included?

call.....I was trying to book a late character breakfast and ended up calling because the new site was showing just 3 times for an available table and when I called there were so many more options plus I could add in the allergies.

:(:(:(
So disappointed.
Called to ask some other questions and then asked the CM about our Mickey Mail. He said because we booked room only ressie - we won't get Mickey Mail. That is not what our original CM said when we booked over the phone with him :confused3 He was the one who said we would be receiving a package in the mail.

No need to stalk my mailman now......now I have to go tell the kids that we won't be getting Mickey Mail :sad2:

Unfortunately, people on the disboards are better "trained" than the CM's.

Only packages receive all the little extra amentities, so they send a package; a room-only ressie would just be your e-mail confirmation.

Yea. We got the paper invoice in the mail.
But despite them saying they sent an email conf. twice - we still never got it. Even after confirming my email address? And yes, I have been checking my SPAM folder.......

Sheesh - room only guests don't rate for pre-Disney magic

That's unfortunate about the Mickey Mail, but I guess I'm trying to figure out what they'd send you when you have a room-only reservation. Just a confirmation? Either way, they shouldn't have told you they were sending something if they weren't going to do so.

I don't know how old your kids are, but maybe you could print out some fun stuff and mail it to your house yourself. Buy some new luggage tags and mail them, too? Just an idea...

I've got the same concern! So excited to be at WDW for my birthday but no place to add a celebration to the ADR.

Regarding Mickey Mail, I didn't even know about that! We booked a package and paid in full mid-December. When should we expect Mickey Mail? To the poster who won't be getting it, I'm sorry - that stinks!

I like your idea! And I haven't had the heart to tell the kids that nothing was coming so I think I will do this :)

The booking CM on the phone said we would receive luggage tags (even though we declined DME) as well as some coupons & info for our stay. We paid in full the same day we made the res. So here we have been waiting for something that was never going to arrive.

You can say that again, We were checked in by 2 very nice young ladies and I mentioned the new website and they say that it may be available by next month:) I tell them that it is running now, they then they tell me that it must be only available for some because she still gets the old site on her pc, I tell her about the link on the top of the page to take her to the new site, she goes "wow, I need to check it out" :rotfl:

Are there dressers in the royal rooms?

One dresser with 3 decent size drawers but we have to use a cloth holder that hangs from the closet pole. The 3 drawers is not enough for the 4 of us.
As for room size, it is big enough for us including a sit-n-stand stroller, umbrella stroller and 3 suitcases(fit inside each other) a big box that we bring our food in and 3 big duffle bags. Not including the DD's little suit cases and their toys:)

We are booked in a standard view, non-royal room for June. I am looking at Andre's wonderful site and I want to make sure that my request makes sense.

We want to be on the mansion side, near a bus stop. Would that mean I should request Magnolia Terrace? Also, is this building near the laundry room?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!
