You have two restaurants that I had completely forgotten about, Restaurant Marrakesh and Trails End. Those will both be worth 5 points in the January game since we have not yet had an live update from either one. ;)

Since I don't have any live from Disney World updates to post, I will go ahead and post some pics from my family Christmas party, which is modeled after the Epcot Food & Wine Festival.

And so...

The party began with a wine tasting and cheese course (plus a few other appies). This was all served buffet-style.

Plum Wine and Hana-Awaka Sake

There were four of us taking pics that night and we all seemed to have forgotten to take pictures of the Germany and U.S. because they were at separate tables. :guilty:

But for Germany cheeses, we had Allgau Emmental and Rauchkase. Also Black Kassel Salami. Our German wines were both Reislings, one was Dr. Loosen Dr. L Estate QbA and the other a Spatlese, which is my mother-in-law's favorite wine.

For the U.S., we concentrated on wines from the West Coast. From California, we had a Chardonnay, Merlot, and a Cabernet Sauvignon. From Oregon, a Pinot Noir and from Washington, my current favorite wine, Eroica Reisling. :thumbsup2 Our cheese was an Extra-Sharp Tillamook Cheddar from Oregon.

That's it for the first course. The entree course will be coming soon. ;)

Now for the entree course...

From Italy, we had...

Oh wow Barb - this looks incredible :)

You must have been preparing food for days!

Everything looks delicious and what a great idea to do a "world tour" with your food and wine selections

Did you make everyone stand in really long lines before feeding them, just to get the true Epcot feel !! ;)

For dessert we served this platter of...

Cookies from Around the World

Second, wow to your family party! What an ambitious concept, and it looks like it was a complete success. :goodvibes

Third, I'd be happy to contribute to this thread. Let me see what I can do...I may have some food pics worth sharing. ;)

The arrival of three live reporters today at Disney World will mark the beginning of our January game. :woohoo: Today is also the departure day of our final December Holiday Roulette Game contestant. Since I have not heard from her since Friday, I'm going to go ahead and close out the December game now and declare our top 5 winners. I will feature each of them over the next few days, so stay tuned for that. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for being a Live Reporter...Good Job!!! :thanks:

AppleSister1's Total Holiday Roulette Points Earned = 10

I'm still here!!!
I do still plan to do live reviews during our January trip Barb, sorry I didn't pm back right away (too much real life going on)

The trip is me, Tricia, my middle son L, and I just recently added my Mom.
I took her in December 2010 but the record colds put a little damper on it for her so I'm taking her again.
She is 77 and having a harder time getting around, but not enough to use an ECV or anything...

Sooooo, as of now we won't be doing DDP because I have an AP and TIW.
I'm pretty sure our ADRs are firm now (notice I said "pretty" sure;))

A lot of these are not new to us, some are. I wanted to try a few places that didn't make the list but I just couldn't knock out L's favs (even if I don't like them...taking one for the team. Yes, I'm talking to you Chef Mickey's! YUCK)

We will be there Jan 25- Feb 1

The Plaza (D)
Tusker House (B)
Chefs de France (L) (to see Remy!)
Sci Fi (L)
Yachtsman (D)
Crystal Palace (B)
Chef Mickey (B)

I also plan to try BOG CS Lunch. We'll see how crazy it is. Our week is about the slowest of the year so that might help.
I'm missing out on some fav's like Jiko...but we will be back in a few months anyway.
We are doing a split stay on rented DVC points at AKL Jambo and BLT.

Your pictures look great! Awesome spread. I was wondering if I could ask you a question. You probably don't remember but I am from your area. We are leaving this Friday, flying Frontier. I think the flight leaves at 4 pm. How early would you get to the airport?

The entire spread looks terrific! What a great idea! I applaud you for putting it all together! Between this thread and that party, you appear to be a master organizer! :woohoo:
