Fanny/waist packs

I've read that fanny/waist packs are the only things allowed on many rides. True? Any special size or type or feature I need to look for? I think I'll order one for each of us to make life easy.

What do you carry in yours?

They need to have the 3 prong clasp and they can not be the size of a small toddler..If they are large and interfere with ride restraints , they will ask you to lock it up..I brought a small Vera Bradley hip pack and that was fine, but I saw people with HUGE waist packs with bottles dangling off and they were told to lock up their packs

Thank you! I just ordered some, but couldn't find reference to how many prongs. I guess I'll see when they arrive. They are medium sized. We won't attach bottles or such to them! I hope this works!

I have a small convertible one, converts to a purse with its detachable long strap.. Not very fashionable, but easy to hold my small camera, phone, money/cards, and a dollar store poncho that folds very small.

I forget the name of the brand I have, but it does have 3 prongs that really hold, and I have taken it on all the rides without having to take it off. Most of the time I either pushed it above the lap bar or spun it around to fit with the restraints.

What I have taken it off for was the bag check though. Easier to show the checker what is in the zippered compartments and it gets me through quicker that way.

If the fanny pack does not impede the restraints, you should be good to go. Otherwise...you'll need to put it in a locker while you ride.

I use the Vera Bradley ones also. Never had trouble and have always been able to wear on the rides.

I bought one of these years ago from QVC. I have used it in the parks.

It doesn't look like they sell them anymore, but you can get an idea of the size.

A cross body is not allowed.

Its a fanny pack..The crossbody ones are not allowed..

On the Vera Bradley website, it is called a Travel Belt Bag.

Are there any rides at Universal and IOA that don't allow fanny packs? I'm debating packing mine or just wearing cargo pants. All I have to carry is my phone and spare battery pack. I really want to avoid messing with lockers...

Fanny packs are allowed on every ride, as long as they are somewhat small.

If your fanny pack resembles a cooler with space for drinks, it's gonna have to go in a locker. Your standard pack won't be an issue.

Cargo pants are a little more fashionable, though

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking I'll take the pack and tuck it under a hoodie, and also wear the cargo pants in case they make me take the pack off at any point. I don't trust lockers with my phone!

Is this accurate? If so, what's the point in just taking a waist pack? If we all have to go through the locker line anyway, why not have a larger backpack that can hold some water bottles?

Fanny packs are not bags per se and are allowed( as long as they are small, unobtrusive and don't interefere with restraints).I have used my VB one on ALL universal /IOA rrides and had NO issues.

Only the fanny pack (waist bag) is allowed. The little mini hipster crossbody bags must go in the lockers. (I've had to put my mini hipster in the lockers twice, but have never had a problem with the belt bag.)

Just a quick addendum to all this. we have been a couple of times now, and I always have a small hip bag and lanyard, and when I rode Rip Ride Rockit last August, I was pulled off the ride and sent to put both in a locker. odd, since it doesn't invert, and I've worn both on all the other big coasters.

It could happen!
