It's a WONDER we have any money left after the Cruise! - All done!

Okay, you've convinced me! Palo looks fabulous. I was going to skip it on the upcoming short cruise but I think I'll go ahead and make a reservation. I have brunch and dinner booked for March. popcorn::

Those olives look mighty tasty!

Sigh, Palo. I miss it.

So you mentioned that you ate the Souffle, but didn't say if you liked it or LOVED it?!? I'm assuming you did, since you're a big fan of souffles :thumbsup2

Will you be doing Palo again in the future?

I am convinced to.. But I don't have a Disney cruise planned

It is definitely worth visiting, several times!

WOW- that looked incredible!! :worship: I am sooooo far behind on all my DISing- I have a ton of catching up to do-

Happy New Year! And very nice pic of the two of you! :goodvibes

Happy New Year to you too! I sure wish that was my dinner for last night (although that one wasn't too bad either!)

Sigh, Palo. I miss it.

Of Course, we will be doing it again in the future! I thought it was probably the best chocolate Souffle that I've had, most are not chocolatey enough. In comparison though, I think that I like Grand Mariner better.

I am convinced to.. But I don't have a Disney cruise planned

Well, we need to fix that!

I finally made it over! Just letting you know I'm here, now I have to go get caught up!

:welcome: Welcome! I'm glad you made it over here!

Before passing out and succumbing to my food coma I had remembered to put out the breakfast order. Actually I think I put it out that afternoon. Fran had asked the day before, “What happened to this ‘eating in the room’ you promised and that I wouldn’t have to keep going out?” I realized that I had made her that promise and filled out the card to make sure we had a nice breakfast waiting in the room.

After waking, and eating breakfast, she still felt awful. Her wrists were terribly sore and the rest of her body followed suit. She didn’t even want to leave the cabin to give the steward a chance to clean it. Instead she just plopped herself down on the couch and I hunted him down to let him know that he could clean the room while we just watched TV.

For those of you who have been on Disney ships, you know that there is never a shortage of Disney Entertainment on the Television. In addition to the Disney Cartoon channel, Disney Channel Channel, they also have a Disney features channel, a Pixar channel, Disney Live Action features Channel, Disney Documentaries and about 10 channels each of which is constantly running the same movie 24-7. A few nights prior we had watched the Robert Downey Sherlock Holmes movie, but neither of us could really follow it. We had been trying to catch MIB III, but never seemed to start the TV until it had been on for 15 minutes or so. Fran hates to catch a movie unless we start at the beginning. I’m the same way.

So we settled down to a couple Disney Documentaries. They were both neat to watch because one was on the life of Walt himself and I cried at the end. The next one was about the Katzenberg years, all the guys who are now presenting at my D23 events were young back then and it was interesting to see interviews with them 20-30 years ago when they were in the middle of projects that now they are telling us about at the events.

About the time this second one ended, another showing of MIB III was coming up, so we tuned in the TV in order to watch. It was about this time that we were getting hungry again and decided to try room service since the only charge is the tip for your CM who brings the meal. They had a pretty good selection and after a few decisions we settled on a burger and mac and cheese for Fran, a steak sandwich and mac and cheese for me with some cookies for dessert.

Fran’s burger was good sized and came with fries. It came complete with condiments so that we could dress us the sandwiches as we saw fit.

I love pepper on my Mac & Cheese

Somewhere during the movie our CL snack for the day arrived and it hit the spot!

DSCN9650.jpg

I didn’t get a picture of the chocolate chip cookies, but they were your basic Disney chocolate chip cookies. We enjoyed them. For those of you who haven’t seen MIB III, just a word of warning, there is a little “twist” in the movie that you are not expecting. All through the movie there is a “twist” that you are expecting, but they really got us on this one. I didn’t expect it to be a tear jerker after all the other movies, so be forewarned if you haven’t seen it.

By the time that the movie ended it was getting close to the time for my massage, so I headed up to Deck 9 and took a look around. The loungers at the adult pool were all full again so I went back to the family pool. They were playing Nemo on the Funnel Vision so I decided to sit down in a lounger and watch that while I waited for my time for my spa appointment.

Here I am in my lounger enjoying the afternoon breeze

This area wasn’t too busy.

Then I headed over to the adult pool area.

On our PV day, I had tried to get a massage here, but there just wasn’t enough time to squeeze it all in!

At my designated time, I headed on into the spa.

They led me to the locker room

DSCN9670.jpg

There was restroom facilities

DSCN9671.jpg

And a place to rest while you waited for your technician. One thing that I found a little annoying was that they had sewed up the pockets for the robes. Evidently too many people were leaving their stuff in the pockets of the robes, so instead of saying “too bad, so sad” they made everyone suffer for the dimwits. Other than that little snag, my massage was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!

Tonight was the Captain’s Gala menu and it was also Semi Formal night

Bread Service

DSCN9678.jpg

I didn’t have the benefit of seeing the menu in advance, so I don’t remember which wine I ordered with dinner. Fran started off with the Wild Forest Mushroom Soup.

DSCN9683.jpg

I had the Shrimp which I did not capture on the menu

DSCN9684.jpg

I had the Minestrone Soup

DSCN9685.jpg

We both got the Lobster tail which they took out of it’s shell tableside.

DSCN9692.jpg

I didn’t get a picture of the dessert menu, so I’m merely guessing at what these desserts were.

Some sort of cheesecake or panna cotta

DSCN9694.jpg

Mine was probably some kind of Apple dessert.

A photographer came by and captured us on film for the evening.

And we came to yet another fine example of our steward’s towel animal ability.

I'm sitting here contemplating an avocado toast and staring at all this food porn! From the wonderful lunch to the CL plate to that dinner!!!! (Not to mention the menu).

Looks delicious. And that picture of you and Fran is gorgeous. I love your bling. Is that the black dress? Will we see a full length picture of you in it?

Sounds like the spa was worth it.

Ah a spa day sounds so good right now. Lovely pic of Fran and you!

Aside from Fran not feeling well that sounds like one fabulous day. Loving the pictures of the ship.

Oh my gosh! You guys really did break the bank on this cruise! It looks like you were having an amazing time though, given Fran's pain levels. I also did the Palo brunch because Alicia had recommended it and I was so jealous looking at your pictures and knowing that I couldn't have those yummy foods right now! I will have to make a Palo dinner reservation on our next Disney cruise, whenever that happens, because everything on your table and menu looked superb as well. Did you ever find the rearview mirror and other thing you were expecting in that plethora of packages? And is there a back story to that old car you guys got, or was it just a spur of the moment kind of purchase?

We, too, ordered in room service for lunch one day on the ship and we really enjoyed it.

Oh man, I really miss the pool area. WAY better than the pool area on the Dream. It doesn't look busy at all! And is that a buff older gentlemen behind you in that one picture you took of yourself?? :rotfl: I'm not sure how or even why I saw it, but was thinking, dang, hopefully DH can look like that one day when he's older!!

Ah, the massage. Did they give you the spiel afterwards? I really wish we could have skipped that part because I was so relaxed and the last thing I wanted to do was be taught a lesson on their products.

Great updates :goodvibes

We've never actually ordered room service on either of our cruises, something we aim to put right next time!

The Captain's Gala menu looks pretty good, we were in Palo for this night when we were on the Fantasy

Thanks for the great pictures of the adult area :thumbsup2

LOVE LOVE LOVE your trip report...more please! I miss the ship so much I stare at some of your pics! :rotfl2:

How's the baby? I remember your trip reports :lovestruc

This sounds like a lovely relaxing day. We had room service for the first time on our last cruise and both had the steak sandwich. We really loved it, but on the Magic it was in a sub roll.

Loving your trip report. :goodvibes

Fran is a sharp dresser. What is on her tie? Is that a polar bear? Too cute!
