Your opinion on these hotels....

Hi all, I am going through the pros and cons about on property (value resort) vs staying in a suite (we have 2 young children who do not sleep well unless they are in a separate room). I think it is in our best interest to stay off property and these are the hotels I have narrowed it down to, however if you have another one I should add let me know.

DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Orlando - Lake Buena Vista
Bonnet Creek - 2 bedroom
Buena Vista Suites
or on site Value Room x 2 (adjoining doors)

I read numerous reviews (trip adviser, mousesavers and on here) but am still confused. The things that are important to me are;

- free transportation to at least some of these places; typhoon lagoon, Sea world, Magic kingdom, Animal kingdom and Hollywood studios, downtown disney and the big thing is flexiblity as with small children I would like to go early and come home earlier then most. Renting a car is not an option at this point as I know this is easy to do.
- fridge for a few things
- close proximity to restaurants and grocery store
- nice heated pool
- free internet (does not have to be in room)
- free breakfast or a place to cook it.
- clean

Oh and most important it does not break the bank ))))

Thanks all, I hope you will be able to guide me a bit more, every time I think I have made the decision I read a review or find out info that changes my mind.

I only know and have experience with BV Suites. Was wonderful in a great location. GL

Can I walk to Down Town disney and if so how long would it take pushing a stroller?

We've stayed at Bonnet Creek the last 4 years. Before that it was Orange Lake. I feel (and it's only an opinion) that once you go to a condo you'll never want to go back to a hotel. The size of the rooms - two separate rooms, the flexibility to eat breakfast in your room (if you want) transportation to the different parks. Can't ask for much more. After a long day at the parks it's nice for our boys - and us to be able to watch a little tv, unwind and relax without feeling like we're sitting on top of each other ! The full kitchen - which we have used because we stay for two weeks also comes in handy if you want a quick snack. Plenty of restaurants near by with some on site (although they're a bit pricey).

Best of all, if you shop around, you might be able to get a good deal on a two bed room condo.

Thanks and yes we have stayed at a condo before, that is one of the reason it is on there, however the place is very full and only one or two condo's come up at a time if they are released, so far only one but it is prob booked now. It also has received quite bad reviews these past few weeks, but it is def top of my list though top of the price bracket with being just over 1000$ when the rest of them are under 1000. Also I don't believe you can walk to downtown Disney can you?

No you can't walk to Down Town Disney. Actually, based on where it's located yo can't walk anywhere.

now there are cheaper hotels close by but don't think you can walk to it.

what renting agencies are you using for WBC?

have you been to WDW before - WDW is very, very spreadout. there a miles between MK and the other theme parks.

It is not like California at all.

It is not like California at all.

I have stayed at the Wyndam and would stay there again. It is literally right across the street (with nice sidewalks and a crosswalk) from DTD. Here is the down side to the hotel, you MUST get a tower room because the ground floor rooms are more motel side near the parking lot with lots of noise. You already mentioned your kids are bad sleepers. Also, I have only stayed in adjoining standard rooms. I am not sure if they have a suite. If money is a concern, you may just have to go with a standard anyways. On the positive side they have a nice kids water play area. And of course the location to DTD is awesome!
