You're welcome. Really don't think what you're looking for is out there.

You can request Magnolia Bend - doesn't necessarily mean you'll definitely get it, but at least it would be on your reservation that you wanted it. Gives you a chance, anyway.

We've had a king room twice at POR, and both times we requested and got Magnolia Bend. First time we were on the third floor in Magnolia Terrace in the middle of the floor overlooking the courtyard towards the river. Second time we were in Acadian House on the third floor in the back looking over the fountain towards the parking lot. I know there are some king corner rooms in Magnolia Bend as well.

We have been to POR a number of times and have had king beds at both Mag and Arcadia House....both great locations. I requested either one again for our trip in March

Thanks guys. We are just concerned is all... have the king bed POR but have no interest in Alligator bayou. Really doesnt leave a good feeling not knowing where we will/could end up when paying this much for a trip and there being considerable differences between the resorts.

That is what happens when you go to a resort vs. A hotel. They are larger, and have larger occupancies, so getting your perception of the perfect location may not be what you expected, but still wonderful.

If you feel you paid too much for the vacation and are already expecting an exact room number, you may want to go to a value resort instead. You may be setting yourself up for disappointment before you even get there.

Or just enjoy the experience. POR is the best resort out there. There are alot of great experiences out there.

We stayed in a king bed room at POR very recently. We booked the king bed room, and then requested one in a mansion building with a water view. They gave us room #8416, which was a king bed in one of the mansion buildings (Acadian House). Our room had a view of the river and was the closest room to the elevator :) It was on the third floor.

Only the Acadian House and Magnolia Terrace sections have king beds, because the other mansion buildings are the royal rooms.

For what it's worth, I was like you about Alligator Bayou v. Magnolia Bend rooms before our trip. Once I got there, I actually thought the Alligator Bayou buildings looked nicer than the Magnolia Bend areas in person.

Call in a room request and make sure it's on your reservation (just request Acadian House or Magnolia Terrace), that's the best you can do.

I've seen a map like what you're looking for but it was for one of the value resorts.

MANY thanks, very much hoping it works out as well for us. Its not the Buildings or the exterior that we are worried about as much at AG, BUT, its the interior room decor. It just looks a little ... hickish ? ... in AG, not what we would want in a resort.

Def going to take advantage of anything we can to make sure we get the Mag Bend King room ...

Have you seen the AB rooms since the refurbishment? They are drastically different aesthetically. I used to not like the looks of the AB rooms and requested the mansion rooms all the time but after the refurb, the AB rooms actually look really nice and well themed.

The thing is, even if you were to find out what the King room numbers are, it's not a good idea to request a specific room number because if that room isn't available, they're not going to know why you wanted it and therefore aren't going to know what a suitable substitute would be. It's better to just make a general request for Magnolia Bend.

i prefer AB, scenery is so much better

also, there are relatively few king bed rooms in POR so it is difficult for disney to accommodate requests, particularly at peak times

2nd this. I refused to stay at Port Orleans Riverside before the refurb because I hated the way the rooms looked in the AB section and didn't want to chance it. I think the Disney website still shows the old AB room interior. I still prefer the Magnola Bend rooms to Alligator Bayou, but the new Alligator Bayou rooms are SO much cuter than the old ones.

Belle, thank you so much for putting the effort in to posting those !

But ... we had seen them, its more the rough lumber rustic nature of the rooms/decor. Just not our thing for a vacation. We have an old rustic cottage we love, but look for something different for vacation.

Generally just really want what we want when we pay for it ...
