Magical Express Question

Hi..

Was just wondering which resorts, if any, besides POR does POFQ share ME with to and from the airport? Also, does anyone know the order in which they drop off/pick up guests?

It doesn't matter one way or another, I'd just like to know.

TIA. :thumbsup2

POP ME busses share with AOA and CBR (based on my 3 experiences)

Oh oops, I just re-read your post. :rotfl2:

Clearly I haven't had enough coffee today; just thought I might tell ya all about something you didn't ask :lmao:

Yeah I know about Pop. I just was there in November, so that's fresh in my mind. :)

I'm just wondering specifically about POFQ

It all depends on the number of people arriving at one time and where they are going. There is no set route or sharing schedule.

When we went to POFQ we were the third stop. Want to say it was CSR and WL that were the stops, but I'm not 100% sure on that. And the bus was only half full..

We have used ME since the beginning when we have stayed at Fort Wilderness which was the first pick up to the airport and the last drop off from the airport. The other stops from the airport were first was Saratoga Springs, Port Orleans, Riverside, Then Old Key West and Last Fort Wilderness. They did not always stop at all of the above and usually had very few guests on board from the airport, going back we were usually full.

When we stayed at the French Quarter there were stops at Old Key West and Saratoga Springs too :dance3: I enjoy seeing the other resorts on the way to the airport but on the way to the resort, I just want to get there as soon as possible :rolleyes1

When I was there in July, POR and POFQ didn't share a bus. I believe we stopped at OKW and one other resort (SSR?). I remember it because the CM at the ME counter misread my ME voucher and put me in the wrong line, and it wasn't until I was on the bus and the driver said "everyone here is going to POR, not POFQ, correct?" and I had to get back off the bus and track down the right one.

Magical Express operates in Zones:

Magic Kingdom Area (Red Zone):
Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Polynesian Resort, Contemporary Resort, Wilderness Lodge, Villas at Wilderness Lodge

Epcot Area (Blue Zone):
Beach Club Resort, Beach Club Villas, Yacht Club Resort, Boardwalk Inn, Boardwalk Villas, Caribbean Beach Resort

Animal Kingdom Area (Green Zone):
Animal Kingdom Lodge, AllStar Sports Resort, AllStar Music Resort, AllStar Movies Resort, Coronado Springs Resort, Pop Century Resort

Downtown Disney Area (Black Zone):
Port Orleans French Quarter Resort, Port Orleans Riverside Resort, Old Key West Resort, Saratoga Springs Resort, Fort Wilderness Campground and Resort

I presume that AoA is in the Green AK zone as well. Once upon a time Pop Century was in the Blue Epcot zone..

But here's the kicker -- and this is key - during extremely slow parts of the day, a given bus might still service multiple zones. Not always, but it can happen.

Fort Wilderness has been with the Downtown Disney ME for the last 7 years, we have ridden it every year and love the ME.

I knew my list was out of date.. thanks for the correction!

FWIW, on my Feb trip this year, we stopped at POR but not POFQ on the route to BW/YC/BC.

I don't know if I believe the "zones" that was posted earlier. I can't remember the stops when I was at Sports but when I was at Beach Club, we stopped at POR, POFQ and all the EPCOTs. On the way back to the airport, we stopped at POR only after all the EPCOT resorts.

ETA: never been at a slow time of day. The ME lines at the airport were ridiculously long the day I saw both POR and POFQ

When we stayed @ AKL 3 years ago we stopped at all the AK zone resorts plus CBR. Karma, I suppose, for the years we've been first (Poly '09 and GF '12.) I don't remember where we stopped the year we stayed at POFQ - not first but not after a tour of practically every WDW resort like the AKL year.

Well, as you can see....there are no set routes. I have been on the DME bus to BWV, and they have stopped at POR/FQ as well. Just figure on it taking you up to 90 mins, from gate to resort, and you should be fine.

As noted a bus can visit several resorts in a zone. But the zones are mainly for baggage handling to be perfectly honest.

A given bus can hop skip and jump between the zones.

Quite right my little Canadian buddy!!! Those 'zones' you see noted on the yellow tags are for baggage handling only.
Those bus routes, for guests, can vary from day to day. There is just no way to be sure which route your bus will take. Yes, they usually are pretty similar but they can change. So, it's never a good idea to count on a particular route...or length of time it takes to get to your resort.

Well I'm keen to experience DME all over again for the first time ... in four years.. on Friday morning!! ;)
