I guess we'll wait and see who the celebrities are before we make any more resort reservations. If we don't have to be there at 6am, there's no need to stay over night.

Do they have items other than pastries in the morning?

Have a wonderful NYE too!! I hope you and Megan have a safe trip to Haiti. I know it's going to be emotional and healing. You both are amazingly strong.

He is still sick. His cough sounds horrible.

know you will have a great time no matter what your plans are!
I'm not sure what else they had for breakfast :confused3
we will, Megan's BFF and her mom are coming over for a PJ sleepover party, going to hang out, eat junk and play games!
thank you for our safe wishes, yes it will be all of those things!
hope he feels better soon

I'm late, but I'm finally here! :yay:

I've not had to deal with the Disney site yet, but I've been hearing nothing but bad things. Sure hope it works it's self out. :worried:

We're going to miss one another by a day, I'm there until the 16th of May. :( Do think you'll be able to come the week before for a day so we can see one another? :flower3:

The only other breakfast spot is Hollywood and Vine and I don't want to waste time first thing in the morning at a sit down. Last year the fruit carts and other carts didn't open til closer to 11am. Now that we know that ds can't have much gluten it adds a challenge to the mix. I guess bringing fruit is our best option as far as he is concerned.

Between photobucket going beta on me and Disney's new site...ugh! I was able to switch out of beta for photobucket! Too bad Disney's doesn't give that option, lol.

The weekend before SWW, dh has off. I'm sure we will be over that way at some point. If you are game for an impromptu, last minute kind of thing I'm sure we can work it out. Also, Monday is typically our park day after JJ's acting class, so maybe a Monday would work out?

Happy New Year!!

It's resolution time again. We have set goals for ourselves to accomplish before SWW.

Mine: Lose weight and tone. I look at picture from the last couple years and ugh! I have lost some weight on WW. I've gone from a size 14 to a size 10. My goal for SWW is to get serious and start toning and get into a size 8 or smaller.

DH's: He lost 20 pounds since last year's SWW. He would like to continue to lose weight. His goal is to get into the 501st before SWW and be able to march in the motorcade parade. He wants to add a storm trooper costume to his costume collection.

DS Grumpy: He hopes to be in Disney's Culinary Program by SWW. He too has been losing weight. Grades are top priority for him to keep his scholarship. He hopes to be able to pay for college as he goes so that he comes out debt free at the end. Of course, we are helping him but we had it all tied up in one place and when the market took a downslide years ago his college savings took a major nose dive. The Piggy Bank Adventure at Innovations should have been around then. We really learned not to keep all eggs in one basket.

DS Anakin: He has one goal. To be able to read fluently by SWW. He would love to get picked as a volunteer for Behind the Force. He had to keep his hand down and it broke his heart to do so, because he couldn't read last year. He had a seizure that caused major regression and he lost his ability to read. With the help of a reading specialist from my Bible study, we started all over again with the alphabet and he is now reading simple sentences! He wants to continue improving with his reading and hopefully there will be no more set-backs!

He did get to make a wookie noise for everyone at Behind the Force last year.

I've been on the WDW website several times over the last few days - and I can honestly say that I hate it, it's very hard to navigate, and I hate that there is no option to add the non-expiration option to tickets anymore. :( For our next trip, we are planning to add the WPF&M options to our tickets, but we'd have 5 or 6 uses left - so I would really like to add no expiration... Grrr...

As for breakfast... DHS is one of the parks that we always do the first available lunch slot at 50's PT... Which is (I think) 11am... So, we usually just do a really light breakfast that morning - that is usually the Quaker oatmeal pastries that I pack in our luggage from home. It's not the best breakfast, but it usually tides us over. I am pretty sure, because of the dietary restrictions in your family, that you probably can't do those - so I think your idea of bringing fruit or some other acceptable food item is a good one.

Love the picture of Ani!

Happy New Year! great goals for the upcoming year!

I'm so sorry that I'm just now getting here. But, I'm here now and all caught up. Our travel dates will overlapse but, when I worked up our schedule, I didn't include any SWW days. I may try to change that though.

Your New Year's goals sound like they are all well within reach. Grumpy seems like a wonderful young man with a good head on his shoulders. I sure hope that he gets into the culinary program at Disney.

Anakin is such a sweetheart! I'm happy to see that his reading skills are returning. That's amazing!

D~, did you fill out a survey about their website. I was prompted 3 different times. I did finally gave in and did one. Gave my 2 cents about how unser UN-friendly it is, and how slow.

The water parks will be fun for the girls!

I tried to get some early ADRS, but if they keep show times at the same time, it will interfere with one of the shows we like. On other days, I made ADRs during the SWW motorcade time.

SWW is the only time of year we spend most of the day at the park. Typically a park day for us is 2 or 3 hours. That's why I'd like to stay on property so I can take JJ back to the room if he needs to, it would take too long to drive back home and back to dhs again. But $116/night on weekends will get pricey to do that at a value. I'm spoiled from paying $77/night this fall. But I still remember the days we paid $45 for a value and $74 for a mod.

Happy New Year! great goals for the upcoming year!

Thanks!

I hope that we can meet up for a bit. You really do need to include a SWW day ;)

I just realized that this is the first Christmas in years that Grumpy didn't get any Grumpy merchandise. He got an electric smoker as a kind of combined birthday/Christmas present. DH left the house at 3am to get it on black Friday.

Anakin finished reading all his K-4 readers and we are working on the k-5 ones. So we've got a way to go. It surprises me that he is able to do his 2nd grade phonics and language workbooks. He has a very good grasp of phonics and their rules. He is able to mark all the special sounds and vowels on paper, but he has a very hard time doing it in his head. He reads very well if he marks the words first.

Math, he blows me away. He is doing 3 digit adding and subtracting, and borrowing and carrying over. He's telling time, and doing great with measurements.

Joining in!

Excited to hear about your plans... Maybe I can get some ideas from you :)

At Celebration VI we bought some officially licensed photographs from Official Pix. Once we find out which celebrities will be at SWW my dh wants to order pictures from here to be signed.

Last year we went with the pictures that Disney hands out at the M&G.

If Jake Lloyd or Jeremy Bulloch are there, we will be bringing pictures we have of them with Anakin instead of purchasing a picture. Our family just loves these two actors. Years ago we saw Jake Lloyd when Anakin was a baby. Seen him in passing other times. We stopped at his autograph session at C6 and we were so impressed with him. Jeremy Bulloch remembered us from SWW and was so much fun at C6. He spent some great quality time with us, and was very happy to sign a picture of he and Anakin. He joked that he must only have one shirt as he wore the same shirt for both meets.

SWW 2004

Not sure why I never downloaded the picture of us with him, but this was before we got our picture taken. We had stand by tickets. Back then, the tickets came from a FP machine back at Star Tours.

100th Episode of Clone Wars Tomorrow!

For those who followed my TR from Celebration VI, do you remember when I mentioned that Dee Bradley Baker told Anakin a secret about one of his characters in Season 5? If not, let me jog your memory...

Telling the secret

DSC_0495.jpg

He told my son that one of the clones is going rogue, he has amnesia and doesn't realize he is a clone. According to this article, which by the way has a great video on it, tomorrow is the episode that Anakin has been waiting for. Did he keep his secret? Yes, he did.

Clone Wars 100 Episode write up and video sneak peak

Congratulations Clone Wars on reaching your 100th episode. This is a huge milestone! We are very excited to see that you are switching networks too. Going from Cartoon Network to Disney XD gives great hope of seeing a season 6.

Every time we plan a weekend to Disney, a wrench gets thrown in. Usually it's dh getting called into work. Last time, it was dh fogetting to pack the suitcase into the car. This time the wrench was thrown in early.

I no sooner booked a mini-vacation for May 16 to 20th when I found out a couple days ago that Anakin's next play is May 16th. It's a good thing we live in central FL.

The original plan was to check into our resort right after dh got out of work on Thursday. Now he has to work until 10pm AND Anakin is in a production.

Now our plan will be for Anakin and I to check into the resort in the morning. Eat lunch. Head to the theater for dress rehearsal and pictures, and hang out at the theater until the evening performance. Then we head to the resort. DH will go straight from work and will probably get there before we do, especially if there is a cast party afterwards.

To add to these changes, Anakin might try out for Disney's Aristocats. So there may be play practice on Friday night. In which case, we would have to add in nap time too.

Love Come to the Dark Side.....We Have Cookies!

DD had pjs that said this and DS still has a shirt that has this saying on it also.

We usually go to Disney during SWW and around the same time you will be there. Sadly, we have to go the last 2 weeks of June instead. DS has Marching Bands commitments.

I have enjoyed reading your plans so far and about your family.

I will be reading along.

:welcome: So glad you found the PTR.

Sounds like cute pjs. My dh has a shirt that says that. He always gets comments when he wears it.

Sorry you have to change weekends this year, but marching band is so rewarding. What does he do in the marching band?

We will be there parts of the last two weekends.

Last year we went most of the weekends and still didn't do everything. DS(8) has problems regulating his body temperature, and we had to do some creative cool downs for him thoughout the day.

We never made it to the parade, only watched it on JeffLange video. Hopefully this year we can work it out to get him to see the parade.

He plays the trombone, He really loves it. He just completed the second season and I agree it is rewarding. They came in Third at State. My Husband and I volunteer as helpers for the Band so we travel with them.

I hope you make it to the parade this year and it works out. Creative Cooling, sounds like a good adventure.

I will continue to read along, thanks for welcoming me.

Trombone, that's great! So nice you and your husband can help and travel with them. Congratulations on 3rd at state. That's quite an accomplishment!

I'll have to talk about creative cooling, maybe it will help someone else, or better yet, maybe others can give me better ideas.

Feel free to comment and jump in at any time.
