:welcome:

I think you'll be very happy with your stay at the BC.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:banana::banana::banana:

I love, love, love the convenience of the World Showcase CS restaurants and Sunshine Seasons. Quite often, my family will do "take out" from Japan, or Morocco or France (great sandwiches) or Sunshine Seasons and take it back to the resort. The only thing we have learned is that they don't have bags equiped to carry the goodies, so we either bring our own, or when we take out from SS, we have asked for a merchandise bag from the very small Soarin' gift shop.

Thanks for the tip on bringing a bag!! I think we have evolved through the years and now enjoy CS more than TS meals. We just like a few nice sit downs at our favorites, but the convenience of CS can't be beat. And there is a good bit of variety if you know where to look!

Another quick question, please!

If I'm booking a Garden Level CL room at the YC what should I request with my reservation? Obviously balconies are the biggest request topic in this thread, but since it's not a concern at YC I'm wondering what else I should be looking for. 2 beds will have to be first, as I'm traveling with my mom and they might try to give us a king bed for 2 people. I know most people would probably request a room close to the lounge but I'd actually prefer to be further away if it's quieter. Is "quiet room away from elevators/ice machines/service doors" a reasonable request? (Does the hotel even have ice machines in the hallways? Or is that something you have to contact housekeeping for?)

Thank you! :)

Calling on our YC experts!!! If you have stayed in one of the YC CL GV rooms, what was the location like? Close to lounge or far away? Quiet? What are the bedding configurations? Has anyone had anything other than 2 queens in a YC CL GV room?

I believe there are just a handful of YC CL GV rooms, and most overlook the wedding gazebo, which is a pretty view. There may be one YC CL GV room that is in another area- anyone know anything about that?

Jeanne and Lily returned to Vegas yesterday. :(

But Teena said it was the best holiday of her life, watching Lily enjoying Florida and all things Disney!

Bye for now! Hope to see you soon!

We princesses need to stick together! Do you want to visit my kingdom sometime?

Aww, so cute.

Teena, hope you're not feeling too glum! It's always hard to say goodbye.

Sitting here up in Whistler looking out at the beautiful snow scene, looks just like a Christmas card, finding it hard to believe in a few short weeks I'll be in Florida :beach:

Wow. I had like 7 pgs to catch up on! DH and I have been putting new flooring in our house for the past 3 days. We are excited aboutbour 1st DCl cruise in like 6 weeks, we r hoping for BC in July!
Lily is cute as ever.
Mike, have fun!
Ninja Mom thanks for the awesome report

So we finished Dinner at Kona and we were on the boat to... What's that? I forgot to tell you about our dinner at Kona? OK. I'll slow down a little and tell you about our dinner!

So we ate at Kona. I had one of those Pineapple Drinks, I think it's called the Lapu Lapu and after that I quite frankly had a hard time remembering what I had for dinner.:sad2: The consensus is that I had a steak, husband had a crab cake appetizer and then a salad and there were 2 coconut almond chickens and Chicken and pan seared noodle dish in the mix. There was much mixing and matching of entrees so it was like a Polynesian food truck was having an all you can eat buffet at our table. There was also a Kilauea Torte or two making the rounds after dinner and then we were off to the boat dock at the Poly to catch a ride to the MK.

This proved to be unnerving for me because, in the dark, I couldn't really see the mini boat they use to ferry passengers between the MK and the Poly and the dock was deserted. I kept thinking that we should probably hitch a ride on the monorail but I kept getting vetoed by my contingent, so wait we did. Even I am loathe to take the monorail after reading about the MANY random and inopportune break downs it experiences just as you are desperately behind on your touring schedule. Having visions of being trapped and having to listen to an endless loop of "Por favor, mantenganse allejado de las puertas". I made up my mind that we would only dare try the monorail when we didn't have to be anywhere important, like say on the way back to the resort to catch the magical depress home.

Finally another family showed up and swore they saw Gilligan and the Skipper motoring our way in the SS Minnow.... and sure enough they were right. We schlumped it over to MK in high style and jumped off the boat just in time to catch the one to Fort Wilderness campground. We had a date with a carriage ride to see the Christmas lights that all the guests put up on their RV and Camp sites!

I'm talking wall to wall Christmas lights, inflatables, Blow molds and other electronic Bacchanalia that can only be exceeded by Jennings Osborne and the masterpiece that is the Osborne Lights. To think that plain folks come to WDW and are so inspired to share the Christmas spirit with their friends and neighbors at Fort Wilderness is enough to bring a tear to any eye. It was a truly marvelous display and I would highly recommend that you stop by at night if you are in that neighborhood at Christmas time.

Among the highlights we got to see was a lady that had a Disney oriented train table set up and she was handing out candy canes to all comers. Another highlight was a fellow by the name of Dave The Castle Guy. My words would not do a description of his delight justice so be sure to check out this link that explains it all.

Even better after reading the above site is this link to a video which brings his artistic effort to life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eU2Is8aPOk&feature=player_embedded

Watching this will give you an idea of the artistry and devotion these folks
exhibit in an effort to spread the Christmas spirit while staying at Ft. Wilderness. I like to think that you can see a little of Walt Disney and all that he hoped to achieve with his parks and entertainment empire in the inspiration that these folks strive for.

After walking around the decorations post carriage ride we made our way down to the beach to catch the MK fireworks. This was followed shortly after by the electrical water parade. It was quite the magical end to a magical evening. The best part of all was that we got to get back on the boat and make the trip back to MK for the bus back to BC. There is something so peaceful and beautiful about cruising on the water at night in the MK resort area. You get to see the resorts beautifully lit up and then the MK comes into view and takes your breath away. Sometimes you are in such a rush to get to your destination that you sort of miss enjoying the trip along the way. One of the things that we really wanted to do was get off the beaten path and experience some of the things that WDW offers that are not the prime, "A-List" attractions, but yet still hold a ton of enjoyment when you experience them. Spending a December Christmas Night at Fort Wilderness really helped us achieve this goal.

We made our way back to the resort filled with wonder, excitement and anticipation about our stay. Tomorrow would be a busy day. We'd be up early for rope drop at EPCOT. At least that was the plan. With 5 of us all trying to get ready and be on the same schedule, Would We Make It???

Tune in next time as we find out who was naughty and who was nice about keeping the schedule!

Ninja I will be sure to never tell DH about those houses. We are the house in the neighborhood that cars stop outside of. DH works in a pizzeria and the cops even know our house.

We tried walking through the beginning of the campsites during Christmas, but I never thought to book a carriage ride. That sounds like a great experience. We'll have to give that a try sometime. Sounds like you guys had a great night!

I heard a rumor that the villas are going threw a refurb of all the soft goods. Does anyone have a clue if BCV will be done soon? Or if at all. I know they don't refurb the villas often because members have to pay for it. But from what I understand they are doing away with the bedspreads - thank god!

Hey pamkat. It's going to change at all DVC resorts according to a release. Here is a summary from DVC news .com.

Meanwhile, a change in bedding at most resorts will also result in higher housekeeping costs for many owners. Disney plans to eliminate the heavy bedspreads in most resorts and replace them with a "triple sheeted" bedding which is becoming the industry standard. Bedding will consist of three layers: a flat sheet, a blanket and a designer top sheet.

This bedding configuration is already in place at Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas and the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. Other resorts will be transitioned to the new system in 2013 and 2014. Disney intends to pay the cost of the initial transition while member dues will be charged for day-to-day housekeeing, future bedding replacement and other related charges.

I have a really hard time with the bed spreads. We are going back and forth with renting points or booking BC CL. Love the look of BC inn rooms but I'm having a hard time with the villas. If they get rid of those nasty spreads I would be fine. Lol

Hi All.....New to this thread and new to BC, Arriving on Jan 13 and so looking forward to it. I've always wanted to stay at BC; it is such a beautiful resort.

Saved a little over $1400 yesterday for our June 6-15 trip with DV discount! It's getting closer to our 12th trip to WDW and 1st to BC!

all of a sudden our First stay at Yacht Club is 26 days away. I have purposely stayed away from the DIS boards because my DH says I am an addict, trying to soak up as much knowledge and tips as possible but here it is 26 days away and I feel like there isn't enough time :)! As a previous Poly loyal fan, I felt I knew all the ins and outs and the best location to request, the best places to eat, the pin trading times - important to both dd and ds...everything!
Here we are staying our first time YC CL GV and I have no idea if I should be asking for a specific room location, if they do pin trading in the lobby, etc. Yikes! Since we are doing so much Epcot activities (Snorkeling and scuba diving the Nemo tank), we thought the YC would be a great resort to try. Now I am beginning to panic - should we have done a split stay with one of the MK resorts? We are staying Jan 26-Feb 2.
Any one have a recommendation on a YC CL GV room request? Thanks in advance -
time to start making the lists!!!

Split stays seem more successful when staying longer.

Right? I don't think I want to pack everyone up and unpack them for just a couple of days. Its only a week long trip since i will be taking my daughter out of school for 3 of the days. It's that little voice saying, did I choose the right resort..would WL or GF have been better because of the monorail? A lot of folks on this thread choose BC. I think I need to stop second guessing and start packing :thumbsup2

I haven't seen this question asked before or maybe I missed it. DH and I will be staying at the YC CL water view. My daughter and friend will be staying in a regular room. Will I be able to have her come to our room to watch the fireworks at Epcot or to just hang out with us since we are CL? (I know that DH or I will have to go get them because she won't have access to the 5th floor- I want to be on the 5th floor)

We are staying at the BC the end of April, it will be our first time staying here, and after a lackluster stay at the boardwalk inn, we are gun shy- what are the chances of an upgrade, never had it happen, but just curious. Anything I should know about the resort- I have been reading but so far I only made it to page 6- I have two small kids- can't wait to use SAB. Thanks!
