Nemo suite worth $400 more?

So....turns out there are no rooms available in the Nemo section at AoA for our dates with the Spring promotion. This trip is for my daughters 5th birthday and she specifically chose the Nemo room. Now, being she is 4 (almost 5!) I am sure I can easily "sway" her through some choice wording to the Lion King rooms, but I am not sure if it's worth it! What do you think the chances are of a Nemo room opening up? Should I switch now to a Lion King room and save $400?

I must say, when I booked this trip (In August) I was SURE a promotion would open up and now realizing we might be paying the full price we booked at, I am a little bummed!

If there's no Nemo rooms available with the promotion, there's no chance of one opening up. They allot only so many rooms to a promotion, once a certain category is gone they're gone. Even if somebody had a Nemo room booked with the special and canceled, that room will go back into the normal inventory.

Now, whether it's worth $400 to get a Nemo Suite your daughter wants......only you can answer that one. You could do some extra special things with that $400. BBB for example if she wants to be a princess for a day?

oh wow - didn't realize the bolded!

Yeah, we are doing the BBB and actually are adding a night so the $400 would be helpful......I just feel SO bad!!! Wish I had never added to her Nemo excitement, lol. She has the whole middle child thing going on and I just wanted to make it extra special. Decisions, decisions.....

We stayed in a Nemo suite and the room was very cute. There was the great picture of Nemo and his dad sleeping above the Murphy bed, and the colors were Nemo inspired. So, yes it did have an underwater vibe. However, so much of the outdoor area is Nemo themed - the main pool and all around the pool. There's the Nemo splash area, the giant Crush and Dory, and the fish statues all around. The Nemo pictures in the lobby and the food court. Your daughter would definitely get to feel like she's in the Nemo movie from around the resort. While we liked the suite very much, the whole resort was so well themed. No matter what suite you get, I'm sure your daughter will be super happy!

I think I would buy her a nemo stuffed animal and a nemo pillowcase and she won't know the difference! :thumbsup2

I don't believe this is true. When the summer room-only promotion was released last year, the resort and room category I had already booked was not included, but I kept checking for weeks and lo and behold, it was added late in the game and I was able to apply it to my reservation.

Also, I stayed at AoA last June under a discount which also excluded the Nemo suites, so I booked Cars. When we checked in, I asked if we could possibly have a Nemo room and they switched us to Nemo at no extra cost.

So if they do go back to normal inventory is it possible there were no more Nemo rooms for the disney visa part of the promo and that maybe at 7 am on Jan 3 there may be some available for the GP release? Just a thought.

They have only officially excluded certain room types - LM rooms at AoA, Club Level at Poly, etc. - so I think it is possible they could add Nemo in at some point. Also, Nemo could have already sold out just for the OP's travel period and be available for other dates. I think it's always worth checking, checking again, and again and again and again!

We bought the cutest stuffed Nemo's at WDW. At the AoA gift shop, we bought a huge Nemo (it was like a pillow - it was wide but not long in the back, and there was a zipper part in the back for your pajamas.) So super cute. It looks great on the bed. I agree that having a few Nemo toys in the room would equalize it. As I said, there is so much Nemo theming all around that she can enjoy it.

Thanks everyone! I think if I really can't book the Nemo suite with the promo then I will start really pumping up the LK suite and promise her a nemo when we get there, lol. Also good idea to even ask if we can move to Nemo once we get there! $400 is better than nothing!

ARGH!! I just spent over an hour showing her videos of the Lion King Suites and taking them up like they are the best things since sliced bread and she just doesn't love it at ALL. I have tried explaining to her Nemo is still everywhere else and we'd just be sleeping in the Lion King room, but she isn't sold, and to be honest, I am not loving the LK rooms either :worried:

I wish I have never let her "choose", what a rookie move for a mom of three!!! I know we will have a blast wherever we are, but she is in LOVE with the Nemo room. I wish the savings was more than $400, I would have a better time justifying the switch.
