WDW Veterans and The Trip of Firsts! There's a First Time For Everything.COMPLETE 6/5

Your Sleeping Beauty is absolutely the most adorable little one I've seen in a long time! I had to laugh to myself at her reaction to Eeyore - little ones are so unpredictable, aren't they?!! The pic of her looking in the mirror after her haircut is priceless :)

Thanks so much!!! :goodvibes

We still laugh about Eeyore when we talk about it. Hopefully we will get better by our next trip. :confused3

I am so in love with that picture! Kudos to the Hubs for his awesome skills.

Chasing Ducks and The Maya Grill

We got back to our resort and chilled for a little while. Watched some Stacy while getting our showers and preparing ourselves for dinner. I absolutely hate going to dinner without cleaning up first.

I know that this is sometimes a big debate, especially in our family. Jonathan thinks that while at the World, showering before dinner is a waste of precious time. I, however, don't like being stinky and sweaty while eating. So this is usually our point of contention in trip planning.

But thankfully he *usually* gives in on this one.

So we hopped in the car and drove over to Coronado Springs for our ADR. I have never been to CS before but Jonathan had stayed here with his family on a previous trip when he was younger. He has been trying to get me to go and I've been putting him off. So I finally conceded and we gave ourselves some time to explore. I ended up very happy that I did!

It is such a beautiful resort! I love the theming and it's just like Disney to do everything to the tee.

Here are me and Sloan in the lobby right as you walk in.

We decided to take a walk and Sloan found a duck. Now this poor duck was chased all around!!! Sloan would not leave it alone and I was too tired to chase Sloan!

This photo was after a good 10 minutes of duck chasing. She was yelling, "QUACK QUACK!!!!!"

Who knew that ducks could work up such an appetite? So we went to the Maya Grill for our ADR.

Believe it or not but this is the kid's chicken and rice plate.

It was HUGE! And Sloan loved it. She could eat rice and chicken for every meal.

And she loves chips.

Appetizers:

Jonathan got the Queso Fundido which is melted cheese with poblano peppers, chorizo, and flour tortillas

Day2MagicKingdom225.jpg

I had the Guacamole. Delish!

Day2MagicKingdom226.jpg

Entree:

Jonathan had the Sirloin Tacos which he loved!

Day2MagicKingdom231.jpg

I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas. They were so yummy.

Day2MagicKingdom229-1.jpg

Dessert:

Jonathan was very full so he got the Espresso Dessert Shot

Day2MagicKingdom235.jpg

And I had the most delicious Coconut Flan. Now, flan isn't for everyone. It's very custardy and eggy. But my mom is Cuban so I love it.

Day2MagicKingdom233.jpg

Don't forget Sloan, she ate the chocolate shavings off of Jonathan's dessert.

When she really likes something she shoves it all in her mouth really fast like you are going to take it away. Silly girl!

After dinner it was back to the resort for pj's and fireworks. Ahhhhh, isn't this the life?

Up Next: Rainforest Cafe for breakfast and loads of animals at Animal Kingdom.

Merry Christmas fellow Disers! I will be back after the holidays with an update. But in the meantime I'm wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season!

Just followed your siggy link from another TR!

We will be heading to the World with our 4 year old and 14 month old next October.

Loving your report so far- especially that you got her first haircut there! :lovestruc

:welcome: And thank you for reading!

You are very brave to try it with two little ones! :goodvibes Though I bet it will be loads of fun!

The first haircut was definitely something we recommend to other Disney fanatics. They make it so special. Maybe you will get to do it too??? :thumbsup2

Side note: I hope everyone had a great Christmas!!! We sure did. Did you see the Christmas Parade at Disney? We loved watching it! Sloan waved at all of the characters while we drooled over the new Fantasyland. I can’t wait for our next trip!!!

A Rainforest Café Breakfast With a Side of Wild Animals

We got up and were ready to hit the road at 7:30 for our Animal Kingdom day. We decided to drive over since we would be eating breakfast there. Our ADR was for 8:30 at Rainforest Café but the park opened at 8:00.

391719_10151905949516549_362133858_n.jpg

So Jonathan braved the crowds to get FPs for Kilimanjaro Safari while we perused the gift shop and watched the diver clean the huge aquarium inside the restaurant.

I have to be honest, I wasn’t particularly excited about this breakfast. I like the ambiance of Rainforest Café and the cool animatronics animals but the food is really only subpar. Please no flaming, just my humble opinion. But Jonathan wanted to eat here so I gave a little.

We were seated right next to the Gorillas which Sloan loved! Our waitress was as sweet as ever. She got our drink orders and offered to take Sloan’s sippy cup so she could fill it up with ice water for her. Jonathan ordered a Java Freeze which was like a frozen coffee which was included in the Deluxe Dining Plan. He has a fondness for frou-frou drinks. Tee-hee. I just got a coffee.

Then we got our food.

Jonathan had the Pie of the Viper with sausage added to it. It’s basically a breakfast pizza. It was colossal! I think we could’ve shared it with the gorillas and still had some left over!!!

302133_10151905950111549_1514092633_n.jpg

I had the Benedict Bamba which is eggs benedict with a side of breakfast potatoes and fruit. I ordered Sloan a side of eggs and bacon and let her pick off of my fruit.

246416_10151905950151549_927973384_n.jpg

I have to tell you, I LOVED everything about this breakfast! It was so yummy. I will definitely be going back. Rainforest Café, you have redeemed yourself!

After breakfast we stopped for a quick Photopass picture in front of the ToL and decided to take advantage of the FPs Jonathan ran to get before breakfast.

I love this pic that Jonathan got!

The line was a breeze and since it was morning the animals we up and alert. Sloan enjoyed pointing at all of them and making animal sounds. And she sat perfectly still on my lap.

Are you ready for some animal pictures??? Here are some anyways....

You lookin' at me?

The King.

During our trek through the African wild, some parents were so excited about the animals that they weren’t paying attention to their child who kept standing up. Our tour guide was awesomely cheery and passive aggressive which made for great entertainment. Every few minutes she would have to remind everyone to stay seated. Toward the end of our safari she had enough and in the most sweet and Disney sing-song like voice she said, “This is the last time I’m going to ask, please everyone stay seated to view the animals. Yes, that means you. I can see you with my mirror! (while waving in the mirror) Hiiiii!”

3750_10151905950496549_723016203_n.jpg

Jonathan captured the moment just perfectly.

And another one....I can't get enough of her.

As we left our Tour Guide we grabbed another FP for the Safari since Sloan liked it so much. We decided to try to make the next showing of FoTLK. Now this is hands down my absolute favorite show at Disney!

We sat in the Giraffe section and bleated to our hearts content. Yes, giraffes bleat like sheep and Sloan loved saying, “baaaaaaahhhhh!!!!”. She also liked the dancers on stilts.

Loooooove this!

269080_10151905953441549_157533288_n.jpg

Everybody dance!

I could tell Sloan was getting sleepy but decided to use our Safari FPs to keep her awake until lunch. As we were going through the line we got to where we drop off the stroller and our guide from the last Safari was there directing stroller traffic. We said hi and told her she had just given us a ride through Africa and she asked if it was any good. We told her, yes of course!

Not two seconds on the ride and Sloan fell asleep! She must have been exhausted because we were in the back row and it was one bumpy ride. We couldn’t believe she slept through the whole thing. Poor baby!

Aww....such cute pics of Sloan! Love how she is taking everything in so intently :goodvibes FotLK in one of my fav's too and so is Kilimanjaro Safari :thumbsup2 Jonathan really got some great pics - esp of the giraffe! That is screensaver worthy ;)

Sloan is adorable! I love those pictures you got of her having fun in the middle of Main Street!

Your pictures of BLT have me excited to stay there in May! Remind me again of what room numbers we want to try and get. Do you know if that is the same for the grand villas?

Thanks! That Photopass CM saw the opportunity and it definitely worked to Disney's favor too. :lmao:

I absolutely loved it at BLT. Our room was 8406 which "technically" was a lake view room but you can see that we are looking toward the left of our balcony to see the castle. Here's the thread we used to get an idea on what to request. We requested a high floor ending in 06 or 08. Good luck!!! :goodvibes

Lunch With a Yak and a Yeti Plus a Side of More Wild Animals

After Sloan fell asleep on our second trek through the African Wild we decided it was time to head to our ADRs at Yak and Yeti. This is one of my favorite TS meals at WDW. First off, it’s Asian style cuisine which I love and the dessert has me sold hook, line, and sinker!

We sat down and I just decided to hold Sloan in my lap while we ate. I didn’t want to try to put her down and run the risk of waking her up and having a VERY grumpy little girl while we tried to have a dining experience.

We were parched and immediately ordered our drinks which were cherry limeades. Yummm! I’m a big fan of Sonic and always get limeades when we go. They brought us those oh so wonderful paper straws that you can get all through AK. I cannot stand those straws!!! I know, I know, the plastic is dangerous for the animals. I get it, and I can deal. But I don’t have to like them. Thankfully our server left us a couple extra in case we got too soggy.

Now hold on to your hat because when you go to Y&Y they give you tons of food. Their portions are huge!!

Jonathan ordered the Pork Pot Stickers for his appetizer. So good!

557577_10151905955461549_124904622_n.jpg

I got the Wok-Fried Green Beans. If you’ve never had fried green bean then you are missing out! They are better than french fries and you can tell people that they are good for you because it’s a veggie! At least that's my excuse. Teehee...

534308_10151905955421549_229692429_n.jpg

Then Jonathan ordered Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp for lunch which came with rice and vegetables. He thought it was great.

527325_10151905955536549_2013662010_n.jpg

And I got the Chicken Lo Mein, it was ginormous! But so good too! Normally I would stuff myself silly but I knew that I had to save room for dessert.

536259_10151905955501549_1901612492_n.jpg

And here they are….DA, dada, DAAA! Fried cream cheese wontons with vanilla ice cream and honey vanilla drizzle. This is beyond heavenly. I must get them every time I visit AK.

385120_10151905955586549_1894593094_n.jpg

You deserve a closeup.

564050_10151905955636549_843890424_n.jpg

I ate mine and then Jonathan couldn’t finish his, so I did! Yes, I gorged myself. But I just could not see them wasted. Once you taste them, you will know why. I could (and have almost) lick the plate.

Right as we were getting the “bill” Sloan woke up and thankfully I got a to-go box with some of the chicken from my lo mein and some green beans. By the way, the to-go boxes are just like the boxes you get from the chinese restaurants at home. So cute!

377265_10151905955686549_1238511868_n.jpg

Poor sleepy baby!

So we strapped her into her stroller and let her chomp down on some green beans while we went to baby swap for Expedition Everest. I let Jonathan go first and man was that a bad idea. We searched high and low for the single rider line and deduced that it split off in the cue. Wrong!

As I was outside waiting, and waiting, and waiting I finally decided to go into the gift shop so I could at least peak at the ride photos. After what felt like a lifetime, I saw the ride picture of Jonathan with his camera around his neck for snapping ride pics. He came out apologizing profusely for how long it took.

But he got some great photos from standing in line.

251283_10151905957096549_731471635_n.jpg

Apparently the single rider line is tucked under a red umbrella between the fastpass entrance and the gift shop. We went to find it so I could ride and I was on EE in 2 minutes flat! I rode next to this sweet little girl that it was her 3rd time that day. She told me about how brave she was as we lifted our hands and away we went!

If you ever want to form a quick and very intimate bond with a stranger then I suggest the single rider line for any thrill ride. I guess it’s the feeling your body gets of possible impending death, or that you pretty much get thrown on top of the other person, but you will have a friend for life.

Here are some ride photos for you.

Love that last one!

After EE we did the Maharajah Jungle Trek and saw the tigers and talked to a very sweet and knowledgeable CM. But if you asked me right now what we talked about I couldn’t tell you. Oops. I didn’t write it in my journal and I’m not bringing up one single clue in my head.

We stopped in the Dino-Land Bone Yard so Sloan could let off some steam. What did she head straight for? The slide. She decided that section of the play area was hers alone. After Jonathan and I were tired of going up and down the steps with her we decided it was time to catch Finding Nemo: The Musical.

On our way to the show.

563989_10151905959611549_996137100_n.jpg

Jonathan loves this show and Sloan loved it too. Eh, I could pass on it without feeling bad. But we get really good seats toward the front and Sloan was entranced in the music and huge puppets.

Here is Daddy showing Sloan where to find Nemo!

Bicycle-ray

430429_10151905958121549_159452320_n.jpg

We set off to walk the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. On the way we passed some people who had obviously just gotten of Kali River Rapids. As we walked by said people, there were a few that either didn’t realize how wet you get on this ride, or didn’t care who saw through their very light colored clothing. Jonathan leaned over to me and said, “Kali River Rapids, the Walt Disney World wet t-shirt contest!” Oh, that man! He always keeps me laughing.

We were at the Trail in no time. The gorillas were very active while we were there. One CM was feeding one gorilla by standing where we all were and throwing pieces of fruit. He would catch it in his big ol’ hand and stuff it into his mouth so fast!

546352_10151905960626549_1958336879_n.jpg

Looking for more fruit. Look at the veins in his pecs! Scary!

We had not really worked up an appetite but we had early ADRs for Tusker House so we went over to check in.

We were seated fairly quickly, which was nice because I was starting to feel worn out. I loved the décor of this restaurant. I felt like I was sitting in an African Bizarre. Which I guess is the point. Hehe..

10546_10151905960876549_899345474_n.jpg

Beautiful!

Now for the food, it is buffet which works out great for us. And again, that means we really didn’t take pictures of food. It all sounded like things I would like to eat. Things like, varieties of couscous and veggies. And maybe we would have liked it, but everything was cold.

Normally, Disney does a pretty good job with their buffets but this one I felt a little disappointed in. Now, we did have some wins. Like the rotisserie chicken and salmon filets. Most of the meats were good. Also, they had great options for kids. We got Sloan some mac and cheese, mini corndogs, and chicken.

All in all this was our worst food on the trip. Thankfully it wasn’t crash and burn and the service was great. Great service can really make up for a lot of bad! This theme will resurface again later in the TR just with the opposite effect.

After dinner we decided to hit EE one more time and had just a 5 minute wait since we knew where to go for single riders. Go figure! Ha.

We then started our trek back to the resort to put our feet up, go through pictures, and rest up for the next day.

I am drooling over your Y&Y pictures. DH and I love it there! Yum yum yum! Were you sat downstairs or upstairs? We've sat at both.

What neat pictures of EE! Such a fun ride.

I know, right?!?!?! I was hungry while writing this update and it didn't help looking at the pics! :rotfl:

We sat downstairs each time we've been but the CM that served us was like, go and look around! So Jonathan went around taking pictures of everything.

Thanks! I think it's funny that on the broken track picture you can see the fire escape light.

Ah-Wo-Wah and the Best Beverly Face on Earth!

When we woke up this day I made a dreadful discovery. We were running out of diapers. Nooooo! Enormous Mom Fail! I thought I had packed enough and here I was halfway through our trip and down to three. I grossly miscalculated how many diapers my child goes through in a day. So as were going through the Contemporary we stopped into a store and bought the most expensive package of diapers I have ever seen! That will teach me a lesson for next time. Thankfully they fit perfectly into the bottom of the stroller and we were on our way again.

We took the monorail all the way to Epcot!

39407700058.jpg

Somebody had woken up too early and was a little grumpy.

We had early reservations with some very important people at Akershus. After we checked in Sloan decided to explore Norway even though it was a ghost town other than the other little princesses waiting in line.

554541_10151905962431549_1380908204_n.jpg

Thankfully they called are name fairly quickly and we were off to meet Belle. I was hoping and praying that this character interaction would be a million times better than what it had been already on this trip. Sloan was a little timid of Belle which made me just a little sad since she is my all time fave.

425929_10151905964601549_498088351_n.jpg

Meanwhile I was completely giddy to see her in her yellow ball gown. I had never gotten to do that before and she looked beautiful of course! I don’t know why all of the other princesses are in their huge dresses through out all of their meet and greets but when you meet Belle she’s always in her peasant dress. ???? Am I the only one that has thought of this? Haha, probably not. End random Belle ballgown rant.

Once we sat down they explained how the other princesses make their way around the restaurant, the waitress took our drink order, and we were off to the buffet. This buffet is mostly pastries, fruit, nuts, and yogurt. And quite a variety of those things. They bring bacon, sausage, hash brown casserole, and eggs to the table to share and if you want more all you have to do is ask.

Now if your guy is anything like Jonathan, he won’t be too thrilled about this breakfast. Jonathan like a little substance to his breakfast. Give him meat, meat, and maybe a biscuit with some gravy and he’s good. I’m more of a pastry eater so I enjoyed it. Sloan has a love infatuation with walnuts (I honestly have NO idea why) and they had plenty on the buffet. So she was great with some grapes and walnuts.

Right was we started to eat they started the Princess Processional. This is where the princesses that are there, minus Belle who is taking pictures in the front, walk around the restaurant with the other “little princesses” while singing a song. So cute!!!

After everyone was seated again we noticed that Aurora had made it to our side of the restaurant. As soon as Sloan saw her she started getting excited. She started waving like crazy and yelling, “AhhhWooWahhh!!!!” And she did not stop until finally Aurora had made it to us. Aurora was so sweet and patient. Sloan tried to share her walnuts with the princess but she politely declined.
Now I really don’t know where this obsession with Aurora comes from. She has seen Cinderella, Beauty and The Beast, and The Little Mermaid but never Sleeping Beauty. Nevertheless, when we play with her dolls Aurora is always her fave.

Sloan waving at Aurora.

A very intense coversation.

545783_10151905963171549_720314584_n.jpg

Next was Snow White (No-Why as Sloan says it). I always love hearing her talk, she has such a sweet little voice.

I love your dress!

Snow White was so cute!

539346_10151905964731549_2025479595_n.jpg

Then it was Ariel. Ariel LOVED Sloan’s t-shirt since it had her on it. Plus Sloan tried giving her the fork from the table and Ariel said, “Oh, you might need to keep your dinglehopper!” (I love Disney World!!! Le sigh..)

Sloan must be a good story teller.

I was so thankful that the princess interaction went well. So after breakfast we decided to try our luck at the Character Spot. Maybe Mickey and Friends would be ok. How about…..not! All throughout the line Sloan was SO excited right until we were walking up to the Big Cheese himself. Then we got shy. I don’t understand! She talks about Mickey and Minnie all the time. Maybe it was their size. I guess it’s a big difference from their little TV bodies. As soon as we moved on to the next character she was pointing and talking about the one we just saw. Oh well, maybe next time.

We decided to head toward Spaceship Earth, we like to hit this pretty early if we can. We boarded our car and got a great picture for our story of the future. It looks like it’s just gonna be Daddy and Sloan.

Haha…

249468_10151905962266549_1870141028_n.jpg

When we started our descent backwards, what happened? Sloan fell asleep!!! This was pretty early for her. I guess the fun filled days were finally getting to her.

When our journey ended I decided to take a load off and sit outside of Mouse Gears while Jonathan rode Mission Space. This one we didn’t babyswap for. I’m all about thrill rides and I can ride this one if I wanted too, but I get a little dizzy and lightheaded usually. Definitely not one I want to ride by myself. So while Jonathan made his way to Mars, I caught up with the Moms (mine and Jonathan’s).

After my DH made it back to Earth we did some serious shopping window shopping in Mouse Gears. This is my absolute favorite store to shop for souvenirs at WDW other than the World of Disney. We made some mental notes to come back to since we would be visiting Epcot again.

Sloan woke up while we were on our way to Club Cool to get some of our favorite drinks. And she decided that she was thirsty. So what did the worst parents in the world do? Let her try the Beverly, of course! This was too funny!

These faces are a perfect illustration on how everyone feels when they drink the Beverly.

Is It Me or Are Kids Getting Dumber?

After getting deemed the World’s Worst Parents by making our sweet, innocent, little girl drink the Beverly we made our way to The Seas with Nemo and Friends. I absolutely love the entrance. If you pay attention it looks like you are walking from the beach and slowly getting deeper and deeper into the ocean. Those little touches get me every time!

By the way, here is proof the my child didn't hate me forever for making her try the Beverly.

We boarded our Clammobile and said hello to some familiar faces. Then we headed to Turtle Talk with Crush. Jonathan and I always love to go into this one. Crush is great with the kids and usually the kids are really funny!

Unfortunately, this is the first time that we got a very interesting group of children. I don’t know if it’s that I do not understand childish humor (That can’t be it! I am FULL of childish humor) or that, like Jonathan implied as he leaned over to whisper to me, as each generation passes we are failing our children in social interaction.

Crush asked a kid his name and the child responded very loudly, “BANANA!!!!” This caused fits of giggles from the kids. Crush looked perplexed and said, “Ummm, kay.” As he moved on to the next child he got the same answer, “Banana!” Poor Crush just didn’t know what to say or do.

As we left Crush behind, we found that it had came another monsoon outside. I sure am glad that I put a poncho over the stroller before we came in! I have redeemed myself as a responsible parent!!!

We took a seat on the floor to wait out the rain and to have a snack.

Sloan loved the lit posters on the walls. She wanted to show us everything on them!

Finally after about 30 minutes the rain died down a teeny bit and we decided to make a break for it over to The Land. Everyone was starting to get a little cranky because we were hungry. And I will brave a little rain for some food.

As we ran though the rain and grabbed our poncho covered stroller we noticed that the wind had moved part of the poncho and the front part of the seat was soaked. Boo!!! And I was doing so well!

It was packed and The Land but we thankfully grabbed a table and tagged teamed on some food. Honestly, it wasn’t too glamorous so we rushed though it so we could get onto Living With The Land.

Here's a really great picture Jonathan got inside the Land Pavillion.

By this point the rain had subsided so we decided to head back to our room early for some r&r. Plus I was dying to get into the pool! I have never actually been in a pool on Disney property. All of our trips had been pretty commando so this trip I was determined to at least dip a toe!

On our monorail ride back to BLT we passed by the GF. At this time you could very clearly see the new Alice in Wonderland themed splash area that they were finishing up. This looks sooo neat and fun! But we were sitting next to a lady talking to what I’m guessing is a family member about the splash area. This conversation was hilarious.

Lady: “Ugh! Disney has too much construction going on! They need to get gone with the park before starting other projects.”

Pause

Lady: “Oh, and an Alice and Wonderland pool area! Can you imagine how terrifying?!?!?”

Jonathan and I were just staring at each other silently daring the other person to laugh. Really Lady? A terrifying pool area??? Some people crack me up!

We got to the room and Jonathan decided to take a nap while Sloan and I went to explore the very tame and non-terrifying BLT pool area.

Sloan LOVED the Mickey splash area. She actually made a little friend that we found out was born the day after her. When we were fully satisfied with enough water we went back upstairs to take showers and naps. And I was able to journal a little on the balcony.

Up Next: Ohanas!

Since this part of the night wasn't too pleasant it will be short and to the point.

But....I will take 1 semi bad TS at Disney over a million good days in reality!

Dinner at Ohanas

After everyone was refreshed from their naps we got ready for our 6:40pm ADR at Ohanas. Jonathan and I always like to eat at Ohanas. The food is great and we love the atmosphere with our “cousins”. We arrived to check in and they are packed!

I have never seen them so busy before but surprisingly we were seated very quickly. I have to be honest this was the worst service we have ever had at WDW which is so disappointing! They were severely understaffed for the amount of guests they had. Our waiter had about 8 tables. He had a second server that looked like she really wasn’t helping him much.

He was very sweet but unfortunately with the amount of work he was doing it made him very forgetful. He forgot my drink order altogether. And I had asked for one of those little light up tinkerbells for Sloan and we never got it.

His “helper” came up right as I was trying to get Sloan some bread and move the breakables away from her so we didn’t have an accident. She greeted us with an Aloha! Apparently we didn’t answer her quickly enough so she rolled her eyes and sarcastically and loudly said Aloha again. I was taken aback a little and just mumbled it back to her.

For the rest of the service she was very rude and short with us. And let me say, I have NEVER had a bad experience at WDW with a CM so I was very surprised.

It was about 40 minutes into table service before we got the normal sides to our meal and any meat to come around.

On a good note all of the food was just as delicious as it always is. And the entertainment was great. The lady that sings and plays with the kids does an awesome job!

We were starving so unfortunately these are the only food pics we got.

Here is the bread pudding and it is devine!!!

By the end of the meal when we got our ticket we just wanted to get back to the room. But they had messed up our ticket so we had to get it fixed.

On our way back to the room it was the first night of MNSSHP so we got to see all of the kids and adults dressed up! So much fun! The best one we saw was the Johnny Depp version of the Mad Hatter. Oh where was that lady from the monorail! I wish she could have seen him!

On our walk back through the Contemporary Jonathan got these cool pictures of the Mickey neon.

See? How could I be mad or upset? At Disney, every night ends with fireworks!!!

Up Next: Lights, camera, Playhouse Disney!

So sad that Ohana was disappointing :( I would have had to write to Customer relations.

But OH THE FIREWORKS! You had an Awesome view!

I thought about it but I let time get the best of me. Especially just letting them know that the understaffing interrupted guest service. I work in customer service and I know that because of the economy, working with a ghost staff is inevitable. But the customer's experience should always come first. Oh well, hopefully it will be better next trip.

But fireworks make eveything better! :goodvibes

Count me in!!!

:welcome: and thanks for joining. I hope you enjoy!

I’m so excited to share this day with y’all. It was such a great day full of tons of fun!

Mickey Messages and Spaceships. Throw In Some Awesome Dance Moves Too!

We woke up and noticed the little red light was blinking on our phone. We had two messages waiting for us. The first was from Mickey and Minnie wishing us a Happy Anniversary! On our trip we were celebrating our 9 year dating anniversary. I know it’s hokie but we like it!

The second was from the resort informing up not to panic if we hear a loud sound and some shaking because the Space Shuttle Endeavor was taking it’s last flight piggy back on top of a plane and it would be passing right over the MK in the morning. How exciting!

We checked the time and started hearing a rumbling. As we opened the curtains and stepped outside we saw the Space Shuttle. What a sight!!! That is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. It flew right over Space Mountain (I find this extremely ironic) and the over the castle.

Jonathan hadn’t grabbed the camera so he wrestled whether to run inside and get it or to just watch it. Finally I convinced him to get it and he was able to get the zoom lens on to get a picture.

I know it’s grainy, but it’s that cool?!?!? And I am calling BS on heavy baggage fees…..

So we got ready and Sloan was excited about meeting her personal hero today, Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates at Hollywood and Vine. The one who started this pirate obsession from the beginning. You guessed it, today was all about Hollywood Studios.

Here’s Sloan with her Izzy shirt to impress Jake.

We finished getting ready and drove to HS. We made our way to H&V for breakfast. We stopped for our mandatory PhotoPass picture.

Here is a great picture that we got at Laugh and Play with Disney Junior.

Now this meal is a buffet. I have to tell ya, this is the best one I’ve had at WDW so far. They had so many choices! And especially stuff Sloan would eat. Stuff like; gravy and biscuits, fruit, yogurt, grits, bacon, sausage, Mickey waffles (of course!), hash brown casserole, muffins, and bagels. Yummmm!

Sloan loved the food!

183516_10151905973016549_1934295113_n.jpg

Soon we were visited by some familiar faces and I will let you know that these interactions went exactly like all of the other ones had gone. Sloan loved them from a distance but as soon as it was her turn there were tears! Thankfully Handy Manny, June, and Oso (not one of my favorites) were very understanding.

Looking for Jake.

Then there he was….Jake! He was last for us and he took forever to get our way but every time Sloan saw him she shouted, “Yo, ho, ho!”

When he got to us she was shy but very interested in him. He loved her Izzy shirt!

486821_10151905976221549_1546414097_n.jpg

Then it was dance time! The kids lined up and were dancing with the characters. Well….of course my little independent one wouldn’t line up.

Watching closely.

We finally got a high five from Jake!!!! Yayyyy!!!!

Before we left, our server had noticed our anniversary pin and got us a special surprise.

Mmmm, chocolate covered strawberries! Don’t mind if I do.
