I looked through a few of the threads posted already - I am sure this info is posted somewhere already - just thought I would copy and paste the email I received for quick viewing.

Travel Dates: February 18 – June 14, 2013

Walt Disney World has released a special discount, currently for Disney VISA cardholders only, where they can save up to 30% off of their room only reservation at select Walt Disney World resorts during the travel dates listed above, plus great savings on 4 day and longer Disney World Magic Your Way tickets.

Percentage Savings:
■Save 30% at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, Boardwalk Inn, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Boardwalk Villas and Beach Club Villas.
■Save 25% at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Cabins
■Save 20% at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and the Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
■Save 15% at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort (Family Suite Rooms)

Please note that some resorts have been excluded from the discounts, including All-Star Movies and Port Orleans French Quarter. Also excluded are the Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation, 3 bedroom villas and campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. While not listed, they may be discounted for some dates, but not others.

This offer must be booked by March 7, 2013. This discount will be available until March 31, 2013 for travel dates in April, May and June. Not all nights or resorts may be available. At this point, the dates of March 24 – April 1 are blacked out at most resorts, but some resorts may still be discounted during this peak week.

Guests can book either a room only reservation or a package reservation including tickets and dining plans, though only the room portion and Magic Your Way park passes will be discounted, the dining plan will be at full rate. Availability is limited.

Please note, some dates overlap with the currently available Play, Stay and Dine discount. In most cases, that discount will be better, but you should check both, just in case.

A Disney VISA is required to book this trip. Guests will have to pay the deposit with their Disney VISA at the time of booking. With Disney VISA discounts, information is usually very slow in getting out to the public. We will update this information as soon as we are able to get more specifics.

This offer to become available to the general public on January 3, 2013.

it was funny that the cm I had on the phone asked me what kind of card did I want to put the deposit on. I almost said "it's supposed to be put on a Disney Visa isn't it?" ::yes::

I'm so curious if the percentage off includes the savings on tickets.

For example, for my dates, BC or YC garden-view, it's $408/night (rack rate). According to Danny's spreadsheet, the rate is $349/night. Even with the $349 including taxes (and the $408 not including taxes), I have done the math and that's only 24% off of the room rate. It clearly states 30% off, so I'm wondering if that's once tickets are added in . . . I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with it since this is a room-only or package deal, so either 1) the room rate will in fact be less than $349/night (and, if that's the case, I will be booking) or 2) the 30% includes the combined savings you also get with tickets.

Thoughts? :confused3

I was originally at All-Star Movies but the discount was next-to-nothing. A move to All-Star Music bumped my discount up considerably. This matched with danny25's spreadsheet that doesn't include ASMovies but lists ASMusic as having discounts.

Music City Mama, both CM's I spoke to told me that the ticket discount was actually very minimal, but the room discount I received was much more than what was indicated on danny25's spreadsheet.

OK, here's another example: POR Royal Room Std. View for my dates would be $226/night (pre-tax), but on Danny's spreadsheet, it's $207 (post-tax) -- that's only about a 19% discount vs. the advertised 25%.

Thanks for the info! However, it does make me wonder how much the ticket discount actually is then. On Danny's listing (on the first page of his thread), it would be at least a 15% discount off of tickets (for what I'd be getting), so that's very good, if that's the case. The thing that would convince me to book is if the the room rate IS 30% off and the ticket prices Danny has shown are accurate. I don't think I can be convinced if the percentage is less than 30% off AND the tickets don't cost what Danny has shown. Those two together, and I'm good to go come January 3rd! I could always stay at a moderate and really save money, but I need to be in the Epcot resorts area for this particular trip (moderate in November).

My friends, the charts that I have posted are the same that the CM are using rigth now, and the TA will have on January 3 to start selling this offer, but there are multiple combinations of tickets options, with rooms dates, with resorts and room types, so may be the CMs are giving you the total price and not giving you the exact discount of the tickets or the rooms. But like always when we book a Disney package anything can happen who haven´t called and speaked with a CM received a price, and when you call again to book 10 minutes later another CM give you a totally different price for the same vacation? :thumbsup2

Danny, you're absolutely right -- I think it gets complicated with packages, for sure. I have always been a room only discount booker and that's pretty black and white. I think the CMs are coming up with a total based upon the data they have (and you have kindly provided) and they're really clueless about much of a discount went toward the room vs. tickets. I remember reading all of the nightmares about that S/P/D deal and I imagine this is similar.

In any event, no use pondering -- I'll find out soon enough on January 3rd (if it doesn't work out, it's the Swan/Dolphin for me -- which is totally okay)! Thanks for keeping us on the DIS "in the know" -- much appreciated!

Hmmm, maybe I'd better call on Easter week then. I hadn't heard that some resorts may still be discounted -- can't hurt to call and check. I do know that there are TONS of rooms available for Easter week as the prices, especially at the deluxes, are WAY high for this time frame. However, last Easter disney left the rooms empty, which was nice in one sense because we got upgrades at both of our resorts due to all the empty rooms...

Edit to add: While I'm on hold, I did an online chat and Royce said there are no blackouts. I'm really hoping I can get a resort room-only discount and it's not just tix that are discounted. Danny's chart has my resort as 160 per night higher than rack rate, so we'll see what I get quoted if my call ever gets answered. On hold 24:45 and counting...

Yea I have only booked once and this happened several times !!!

Danny, still giving you MUCH love, just wish there was some option for us Canadians to get in on this discount NOW !!!

So upset that its only open to people with a card that we can't get ... considering I get a call like every other week of someone trying the throw a credit card at me ... all I want is a disney visa !!!!

This is exactly what happened with me - it seems like a different discount % based on different Value resorts and each room category within it, I asked the first CM to check what the different combos would be but I got the impression she was inexperienced although very nice. The second time I called the CM was like "Hmm that's not a very good discount, let me try a few things" then she was suddenly like "I know! How about All Star Music?". I said sure, and when she pulled all the rates, it was a great discount. If you're not sure what you got was right, definitely call back.

Danny, much love for giving us the information early!!! When I woke up this morning and saw people posting about the early release for cardholders, all I had to do was pull out my sheet of paper with various number-crunching notes on it based on your spreadsheet, and get on the phone :thumbsup2

Hi my friend listen to me please :wave2:, don´t worry at all about don´t have a Disney Visa, you can wait until Jan 3, or one week more, or 2, and you will have plenty of rooms at any resort that you want, the percentage of reservations of Disney Visa card holders is really minimal compared to the general public, and I will tell you something more, the percentage of people knowing that this offer will come out Jan 3 is really small too, even inside this boards some members don´t even know about this offer, sometimes is funny see some people calling at first hours of the morning when the FD is released to get the room that they want and I have see 40 days later of the release of the offer, a LOT of rooms at all resorts with availability. So RELAX and enjoy the New Year you will get all the rooms that you want I PROMISE :cheer2:

Quoting myself to finish. I just got off the phone. CM Jackie was so nice and really, really tried to help me. She insisted there are no blackout dates, but when she quoted me my Easter rates they were exactly rack rate. When I told her that, she became flustered, tried again, put me on hold, came back and tried again. It was quite a long call with very much effort on Jackie's part, which I really appreciate. In the end, she could not find any way to get my resort discounted, so I suggested maybe I needed tix to make the deal work -- she said no because there are no blackouts. Put me on hold again, came back and said my dates are blacked out. Honestly, I do think the tickets might've made a difference in my price, but we have AP's and need a room-only deal. I may call back sometime, but I can't muster up the motivation to go thru all that again for a little while. ;)

Jackie Might be confused because of what my interpretation of the charts by Danny25 were earlier. Notice during the busy periods, the rates for the rooms go up significantly at some resorts. Also, over the whole period the rates are above Rack rate.

This is likely to offset the cost of the discounted tickets.

THUS, they can say that there is no blackout date (blackouts seem bad, like you can't take advantage of the discount, they want you to feel like you can book the discount !!!) . BUT, when all is said and done, the substantive effect is a black out, not only for dates, but for some resorts over the entire period of the promotion.

That is the question?

This is a special trip for two reasons. My first trip to Disney ever was for my 8th Birthday with just my Mom and I, and she continued to take me back almost every year after that until I was 21. "Our" resort was always POFQ once it opened, and she even started going with DH and I when we had our girls to help us. This past June 16th, she passed away from ovarian cancer, and right before she passed away she told my DH to take me to Disney for my 40th B-day since she won't be here to do it. Well we are booked April 20-28th for my 40th on April 24th at POFQ "Our" resort, do I change for a discount for stay for the memories?

Ugh....I don't really know how much I could really save by moving resorts.

She was most definitely confused, yes. She was actually stunned when I told her that was rack rate she just quoted me. She said she put in the visa discount room-only code and that is what popped up (rack rate...).

I have been one that has said in other threads that Danny's chart shows my particular room as $160 per night higher than rack rate (BC CL). With the discounted tix added in, it is still higher than rack rate. So I really don't know what to think next except to just wait it out for a room-only deal, hopefully AP will not black it out. If so, I will reduce my nights and stick with a AAA discount.

So sad and happy ... we took my mom for her first time last year. She has ovarian cancer as well, 5 years in :(. Blessed that she is still with us though. I'd suggest looking at POR Magnolia bend section. Try to get the one building .... cant remember name.... its like 50 yards from FQ. Just across a bridge. Savings in POR are significant. 1100 for US for 10 days.

Thanks... I might look into POR. I actually stayed there when it was Dixielandings for my Honeymoon. We are 8 nights so it might be worth it. I just like how close everything is to the main building at POFQ. I've also thought about looking at what it would cost to upgrade to a deluxe. My two girls really like the boat to DD so they really don't want to change. We'll see, I still have a week to figure it out.

On another note, yeah for your Mom!!! My Mom was 3 months until it would have been her 5 year mark with Ovarian Cancer, she was just too weak to fight anymore.

Thanks Danny for your reassurance. I am so worried that there won't be anything left on Jan 3 but your kind words make me feel much better.
I have never been very good at waiting!!! ;)

Carla

Hi there! This is my first post. We are currently booked at BLT June 3rd-11th. It looks like there will not be a discount available for this resort using the Spring promo. Am I correct or missing something? Thanks!
