Has anyone had flowers or whatever delivered to their hotel room from the Disney Florist? If you didn't specify a time, when did they show up? How were they presented? Were there any issues?

I want to know too. I just spoke with Disney reservations and they gave me the Disney florists number to have a basket delivered for our son's birthday. Hoping you get some positive feedback.

I am curious also. The day we arrive will be my daughter's 14th birthday and I was thinking about doing something for her.

I ordered the Mickey's Candy Bar "cake" for my fiance's birthday went we went last October.

As far as delivery, I was told it'd be in our room, or delivered while we were out, so it would be a surprise, the day we arrived. The time I was told it would be delivered came & went and still no "cake". I called while he was out of the room, got transferred around, finally called Disney Florist minutes before they closed on Friday and we figured out where the cake was. Took some time & trouble but FINALLY got it delivered after it was no longer a surprise. Not sure if it was miscommunication or if I was told they could do something in regards to delivery that they couldn't do but I wasn't overly happy with how the delivery went.

As for what I ordered itself - I couldn't have been happier. It was very cute and just what I'd hoped for. when I called to place the order we chatted about bit about what I wanted and some options I had. Very helpful. Very friendly.

Even with the delivery difficulties, I'd definately order something from them again. :thumbsup2

That happened with us too - I thought it would be in the room when we arrived, or shortly after - but it wasn't (too be fair, we did change rooms - we were at AKL and I was not happy w/the view - I had paid for a Savannah view - and this wasn't it(!) anyway, I didn't check up on it, and it did arrive later that first day. It also was the candy bar cake which was outrageous! My dd loved it, and it was exactly what I expected - perfection!

Each time I've received something it was either waiting in the room when we arrived or magically appeared when we were out of the room. We always stay concierge though and I've heard that is the difference. If you're not staying on the concierge floor then they won't put things in the room prior to arrival because room assignment can potentially change until you actually check in. I've heard of things waiting at the front desk for people when they check in though. I order from them all the time and I've never been disappointed. In fact, they usually exceed my expectations. The most magical thing was when we came back and the Christmas tree that I had ordered was set up and plugged in. It was beautiful!! And walking into the room and seeing that was one of the best parts of the trip. Also, for my 50th birthday I was fortunate to receive several gifts at one time that had been placed by my friends and when I walked in and saw everything it was almost overwhelming! I have so many momentos in my home now that actually came from the Disney Florist. You can order something straight off of their website or they will customize something for you. They've done this for me a couple of times.....once, a pirate theme basket for my son that was out of this world and another basket for a friend of mine for her birthday. They are very good at their jobs.:lovestruc

We have always been happy with the Disney Florist deliveries. They are either waiting in the room when we arrive, or they are delivered while we are out. You can usually specify if you'd like something to arrive on a specific day of your vacation. They can also do baskets that aren't shown on their website. Just call them up and ask.

DH ordered flowers for me and some friends when we stayed at the Contemp earlier this year.
He ordered the flowers to be delivered prior to/at check in time. However we did check in a few hours early. But the flowers were delivered to our rooms around the normal check in time.

The person I talked to said they just deliver them to the resort and the resort brings them to the room so I wonder if different resorts have different success rates :)

I guess I will give it a shot and see how it goes.

All florists (even the Disney Florist), other gift basket companies or any other delivery company must deliver to the front desk of the resort. Resort runners deliver the items to the guest rooms. No deliveries can be put in a room, unless you are staying conceirge level, prior to check in. Once you check in, the runner will deliver the item. Most of the time, they are very quick in doing so. Sometimes, when they are very busy, it will take awhile for the delivery to be made.

Thanks for the info about this. I plan to use the Disney Florist to deliver a floral arrangement and a special 'surprise' for my DD8 during our stay at the Poly.

Another option is being able to have it delivered to a restaurant.

Lindsey who is a diser and a Disney Florist really, really helped me out. I had the huge stuffed Mickey with balloons delivered to Garden Grill for DD's birthday dinner. She was so surprised when it came out with the cake.

Just another option, we were 150% pleased with Disney Florist and our surprise! We also do a gift basket for DD each trip on the first day of our arrival. Last year I used Feralpeg, the year before baskets by Sarah. They have all been wonderful and left in our room sometime after check in while we were at the parks.

I've ordered a few different things for my daughter and she is always amazed by what is in the room when we get there. I got her the "minnie and Mickey christmas package", it was loaded with items:
-Minnie and Mickey christmas plush
-Santa cookies and milk (ceramic holiday plate and cup) with cookies
-Autographed Mickey and Minnie matted photograph with stand
-Christmas present wrapped perfectly disney (chip and dale table christmas ornament)
-3 lanterns on a 3 foot tall stand which was very christmas like decorated with holly and berries.
-Tinkerbell light that casts her shadow in the room
-Some random treats and colorful Mickey heads spread around the room
-Red christmas blanket with my daughters name sewn into into
-Autograph book that Mickey and Minnie signed and left
-"Surprise" sash hanging over the hotel room door

Overall i was very happy with everything, it is kind of pricey but they do, do it right. I think it was $385.00 but, well worth it. She thought Minnie and Mickey brought it all to her room and couldn't believe they knew she was there and where she was staying...

When i ordered they gave me a few time slots (1-3pm) and (3-5pm) so that they could deliver and set up the package while we were out of the room...I have no idea who delivered it or who set it up, but it looked amazing and it was so nice i did it again for her birthday and ordered her the "princess package" which she also loved...Also a bit expensive but very cute and seeing the smile on her face is the best part...On both packages when you get close to the room you can start to see the surprise sash hanging over the door and she got really excited...Well worth in my opinion, I will continue to use them until she gets older and its not as exciting anymore...Hope this helps.

Can you customize a package with them? I'm taking my two young nephews in May (ages 3 & 6), along with their parents. I was looking at the package with the mouse ears, autograph book and pen and some snacks. But I don't need the autograph book (I'm making theirs). Could I substitute something else in place of the book?

You cannot customize a room celebration only add things to it. I believe you can customize just a basket

The flowers and packages are delivered by the front desk, only room celebrations are set up by Disney Florist. I recently ordered the Christmas room celebration (though mine doesn't seem quite as nice as the above poster's, guess things change). I did have some service problems. On the phone they didn't explain not being able to customize the package well and I didn't get the delivery time slot that I wanted. Also I was told on the phone that the resort could ship the items home (particularly the giant mickey and minnie) and that is not the case which made me very frustrated and stressed at the end of our trip. The surprise of the room decoration was awesome though. It cost around $400

That should not be a problem. They will simply deduct the amount of the autograph book from the order and add in your other items.

The only thing they will not subtract items from is the room decorating packages. It is a logistics thing and would cause confusion if they started trying to remove some things from the package. They will add items to a room decorating package. Of course, this was the case when I worked there and it has been a few years.

. . . Also I was told on the phone that the resort could ship the items home (particularly the giant mickey and minnie) and that is not the case which made me very frustrated and stressed at the end of our trip . . .

1) The front desk or concierge CAN ship almost anything home.
2) It can go either FEDEX or UPS - standard or overnight.
3) This is done almost every day at every resort.
4) Someone gave you bad information.

Well, it was a whole conspiracy then because I asked more than once and asked multiple people at the GF including concierge (and believe me I was pretty annoyed by the end and some CMs swore they'd never heard of Disney Florist). I was told that the resort can't ship almost anything home, but that I can trek over to the convention center between the hours of 9-5 and pay for packing materials to pack and ship it myself. This is not what was told to me on the phone.

I was told the resort cannot pack and ship it home because only Disney Parks merchandise bought at Disney World can be shipped by the resort. Disney Florist merchandise, despite having tags that say Authentic Disney Parks merchandise, does not qualify. Also I did not have a receipt only my credit card receipt to show that I had purchased it.

I feel a little like Disney Florist tried to upsell me on the room package instead of the other purchases I was considering.
