I've been reading posts over the last couple of months from parents who were planning to surprise their kids with a cruise for Christmas! Some planned treasure hunts, others phone calls from Mickey, etc. I'd love to hear from ya'll on how things went Christmas morning and what surprise tactics worked best!!!

Fantasy-tastic :goodvibes I made a scroll for my 10 yr old DD with Mickey on the side and it had 'Rules for Girls on a Disney Cruise which I tied to the bottom of Mickey's & Friends helium balloon. I put them in a huge Christmas Gift bag and when she opened it the balloon floated out. She was puzzled, 'like why is my gift a balloon'. Then she read the scroll and it was constant excitement and questions for the next few hours.

Our surprise was great! Our daughter gave us a video she'd made from previous cruises and insisted we play it Christmas Eve, as she knew we weren't planning our usual January cruise this year. Tearfully, we watched it.

Afterward, we told her she could open one present and handed her a box. She opened it and, after some moments of shock, realized we WERE going on a cruise January 6, on the Dream. She cried and said she had just been watching videos of kids being surprised with cruises for Christmas, lol.

The next morning, the last present we handed her was a box containing information on the 2nd leg of our B2B cruises -- the DVC Member Cruise onJanuary 10. Yes, she cried again!

If I can figure out how to upload the videos from my phone to YouTube, I'll post the links here. This may take some doing!

Our twin girls, 4, were less than ecstatic, haha. We had waited for both set of grandparents to come to watch the reaction and the girls couldn't wait to open the rest of the presents :rotfl: They are starting to get excited today though:lovestruc

We leave for DisneyWorld on the 11th of Jan. and then get on the cruise Jan.19th :)

We did a treasure hunt and the final clue was waiting for call.. Mickey called to tell them! They were soo excited! Now the countdown really begins!

Ours went perfect! I wrapped up a big box that had a lid, I had told the kids that our present to them was going to be "tickets", they immediately thought tickets to the movies or the circus or something like that, they had no idea it would be "tickets" to the Disney Dream. I created tickets for all four of us on the computer, complete with DCL logos and pictures with all the important cabin location and cruise dates with their names on it.

THe tickets were inside the box on top of multiple layers of tissue paper inside an envelope that had "When you wish upon a star" on it with "Your Tickets" on the back, they open the envelope and got totally excited when they read them, then they proceeded to dig through the rest of the box to find their plush DCL characters along with the DCL T-shirts. They are totally excited and still can't beleieve it.

I videoed it,so I need to get it on youtube.:wizard:
