I LOVE Comedians with Guitars......You didn't tell me that part...

I think we all separated. I actually think Lisa and I left first from dinner. We went up top and tried to find a spot to watch the pirate show, which was very busy! A lot of my pictures are taken through people’s heads and arms and at one point I just started lifting my camera over my head and hoping for the best. People were ruthless and rude. Many would walk right in front of you and then just stop. It annoyed the heck out of me. Lisa hung back to the side and I would look at her and roll my eyes. The music was loud and a few times I would shout back to her things like “She just walked up and stood in front of me, can you believe it?” And these people still never got a clue.
Then there was ipad lady. She was recording the whole show on her ipad, held high over everyone heads, which is fine, except she never stopped moving and would push her way in front of people all the time. And of course with the ipad held high, no one could see around her. I hope she got all she wanted.

These are some of the better shots I got.

Mickey will save the day!

pirateparty3.jpg

I am really having a hard time remembering the story line. It’s different than the Dreams party, but kind of similar. There was a LOT of dancing going on at this one though ……. more songs.

pirateparty4.jpg

pirateparty5.jpg

The Dream is different too, because there is a pirate show between the 2 dinners, this one is all AFTR the last dinner. So the fireworks are with this, while on the Dream they are at the later dance party.

Continuing with the bad pirates.

pirateparty24.jpg

pirateparty26.jpg

pirateparty25.jpg

There can only mean trouble when Captain Hook is around.

pirateparty27.jpg

At this time we see Brook, Carolyn, and girls up above us, so we headed up a flight and stood by them.

Mickey is here to save the day!!!

pirateparty28.jpg

pirateparty29.jpg

pirateparty30.jpg

Then it was time for fireworks.

fireworks1.jpg

fireworks2.jpg

fireworks3.jpg

It’s really hard to get firework shots without a tripod. Obviously I wasn’t using one, so this is what you get.

fireworks4.jpg

fireworks5.jpg

Now these fireworks are not the best you are ever going to see, BUT it is really neat to see fireworks at sea, especially when you know other cruise lines do not do this.

The party continued.

pirateparty31.jpg

We saw Peter the cruise director off to the side, so we knew he was about to come out too.

pirateparty32.jpg

He was hard to get because he was on that upper stage and that roof was in my way, but you can kind of see his coat in the first couple of shots.

pirateparty33.jpg

He was dancing away, and boy he’s got some moves. This was a really fun part for me.

pirateparty34.jpg

pirateparty35.jpg

He brought the party to a close then,

pirateparty36.jpg

I think I like the way the Dream does this better. This party was a bit too long in my opinion. I was getting tired of music and just wanted to see the fireworks. I could tell that Lisa was getting a bit tired of the dance party too. Sure I loved seeing different characters on stage, but it needed to be shortened up just a bit.

Now you got me trying to remember. How did you kill yourself with the lanyard? I was probably too mesmorized following him on the ship because I LOVED his sweatshirt so much. You were probably dying next to me and I was ignoring you. :rotfl2:

:rotfl: I hand my MWT lanyard on, then my camera over it, and little drawstrings on my shirt, and my backpack on...I tried to get them all off for the security scanner and it was totally tangled up. I was choking myself with the lanyard! It was pretty hilarious!

I have no clue why I took this picture of Lisa, Brook and Luis, but I must've had a reason.

piratelisa.jpg

Who knows what Luis was doing! He was such a goof! :goodvibes

I agree with you about the Pirate show, it's fun, but man...they dance FOREVER! They could easily shorten it by a few songs and it would be still very enjoyable. Great shots of Mickey!

I'm sorry, but I HATE the people who video record with their Ipads. And I have one. It basically turns their one head into two heads blocking your view. Plus, I can never understand why they want to use it for that purpose...the video picture quality is not that good. A Mommy at my son's kindergarten graduation did this. She was in the front row, so holding up the Ipad blocked the views of several people behind her (including me). The rest of the parents video taping were nice enough to get up and do it from the back of the room.

For one of the shows, we were on the outskirts of the stage. I had Allison sitting on a bin next to me, so she could see. A huge guy came and stood right in front of her. Not only was he completely blocking her view, but he was leaning back and squishing her feet, forcing her to move closer to me. We ended up having to move. Sometimes, peoples rudeness and thoughtlessness really astounds me.

Ugh for the lady who had to record the entire show on her Ipad. There was a woman who did that when we sailed on the Dream. It was like having a miniature television right in front of us and blocking our view. People nowadays are just plain old rude.

All caught up! Can't believe you didn't get to finish your Mickey Bar. The pics of Mickey zip lining came out good. He was backward for ours, lol.

I would have been annoyed by iPad lady as well. I have an iPad and love it dearly and it is almost an extension of my body, but I have never used it to take photos or video. That's what cameras are for.

On our 9 Disney cruises, I have been to the Pirate Party once and that was on our Mexican Riviera Cruise last year. It was not my thing at all.

I guess to me, it would be kind of bulky to carry around, but then again I haven't tried it, so maybe i woudn't mind. :rotfl:

We had a reallly freakishly tall guy stand in front of us during the pirate party on the Dream. I lifted Claire and my neice up and kind of propped them up higher to see and this guy didn't even notice. So annoying.

I really noticed this a lot this trip. Many people carry them around and recording stuff. I guess this is the new trend, though it seems like a lot to lug....says the girl who lugs a big camera around all day long. :rotfl2:

How was your trip? I was just thinking about you today.
I was happy with the Mickey pictures too.

Isn't it kind of a lot to lug around? I wondered if it would be heavy? Of course I don't have on, so I have no clue. :) But I would much rather use a camera too.

:rotfl2: I totally missed that...I think. :rotfl:

It is a little long. I am happy i saw it, but now I know I don't need to rush to get to it.

I got a new phone yesterday and boy it is a step up from my old one. I got the iPhone 4s. It's such a luxury. It has a feature where I can talk into the mic and it types my texts out for me. This is the coolest feature EVER!!!!
It doesn't take much to excite me.
I put a few ringtones on it and one is the Muppets mananana song. That is the ring for when Skip calls me. Today I had to go to the bank to switch an account around or I would start getting fees in Jan. As we are sitting ther all quiet...that song starts playing! :rotfl2: The girl didn't crack a smile, but I would've died laughing if it was me.

After all that pirate fun, we decided to head to the buffet, which for those who have been on the Magic in years past, it is now located in Topsiders. I am trying to remember between my 2 trips, but I believe they only had it opened on one side and the line was long and slow moving.

I have to say, I wasn’t all that impressed with the selections. And my pictures aren’t that great, and I can’t remember exactly all that was offered. I do know there was a lot of Mexican food, and I wasn’t in the mood for that. Well, actually none of us were hungry at all. It wasn’t all that long ago that we had gorged ourselves at dinner. I think I picked up a few things, one being a turkey leg. It had been YEARS since I last had one and I wanted to try it again. I might’ve picked up a dessert or 2 as well. I only ate basically a few bites. Most of my food was wasted. I felt bad, but I was so full. I will say the turkey leg was very good, but VERY hard to eat.

After sitting for a while and chatting, we just were all so tired and we headed our separate ways.
This might’ve been the night that Carolyn slept in Brook’s room. I guess one of her roommates was a loud snorer and she just couldn’t sleep, so a few nights during the trip she went to Brooks room and slept.
We always turned the TV on when going to sleep because we would still hear that weird noise. I wish the TV’s had sleep timers so we could set them to go off after a certain time, but they did not.
We also had issues with the toilet running and I found that if it kept making weird noises, that if I flushed it again, it would stop.
I don’t think it took long to fall asleep tonight.

i-pad lady - that's annoying :headache: It must be awkward to video with that. Whatever.

You still managed to get good pics of the show.

I like Brook's striped tights. Cute.

Dessert - yum!!!!!!! All the food - yum!!!!!

I just saw this show last night about Oasis of the Seas and they talked about how they absolutely can't wait for people to get back to the boat when they don't return from land. Apparently a late departure can translate into $25-50K in extra gas trying to stay on schedule. :scared1:

I loved her tights too.
Wow. I knew they didn't like to wait, but I guess I never thought about that reason.

We had a wonderful time :cool1:and then the day after we got back I got sick.:sad2: Now we are thinking about moving our business to our yard because the economy sucks so much we are having trouble paying rent.:sad2: So I've been busy at work trashing old files so we have less to move. After Christmas we are going to Ohio for a week:cheer2:, so maybe in mid-January I'll be able to get started on my trip report. :rotfl:

No, it is not heavy at all. It quite happily sits in my purse and even fits in my little Dooney and Bourke backpack. I commute by train and I use the iPad to work on my trip reports using the Notes app or reading a book on the Kindle App.

Enjoy your iPhone 4S. I have had mine for about a year now and love it. I was resisting upgrading as I was rather attached to my iPhone 3G, but as it no longer held a charge, it had to be done. Well, I have not looked back.

The buffet looks very tempting. We never have done the buffet. Maybe on cruise I need to pass on dinner on Pirate Night and hit the buffet instead. All the Mexican food is fine by me. When I saw it listened as taking place in Topsiders, this seemed a bit strange to me, but I could not remember where it was previously.

Wow, I missed a bunch!

Random thoughts!

Cafe Toledo - do you think maybe it's named for Toledo Spain, and not Toledo, Ohio? :rotfl2: Think global, not local! We always get a chuckle here about international names, as we have Milan (pronounced My lan, not mih lahn)Ohio, and some others nearby.

Flippers - your's couldn't have been that big. You should have seen DH on our cruise, he wears size 15 shoes, so they had to go down and dig out the BIG BOYS! They were practically water skis! :goodvibes

I think if we do another cruise I would ask for a digital underwater camera. We had a couple of disposable ones with us. However without a flash, the pics don't always come out so hot.

Comfy seats in the Cove - those chairs are where I would go every morning and read when I woke before the boys. Get a cup of coffee from the self serve, my book, the sunrise, and I was all set!:thumbsup2

I totally understand being busy. I swear each day I have had so many things to do. Luckily now, my shopping is/should be done, all the concerts and activities should be done, and I think I can actually have a semi quiet day today. Knock on wood!
So where at in Ohio are you coming to? I live in Ohio too, near Toledo.
If you are in that area, maybe we can meet up.

My Aunt carries her iPad around all the time too, so I guess it must not be all that bad.
I LOVE my 4S. Why I wated so long is now the question. I can't believe how much faster it is than my old phone and all the neat features ...and I keep finding more out each day.
I had a smart phone, but it was a dumb smart phone in the scheme of things. VERY slow and I knew that, but now I realize just how slow it was. I loved the price too, which also made Skip happy. I think I read the list price is like almost $600, but who really pays that amount. It was on "special" for $200 and then because they are making us Nextel users switch by the end of the year to full sprint phones, I got it for $50! At first when he rang it up, it kept charging $200, and he had to get someone to over ride that price and I felt so special. :thumbsup2
My sistr doesn't know it, but my BIL bought her an iPhone for either Christmeas or her bday (Her b-day is the 27th). I pulled my phone out the other night and she got all excited and told me she had asked Rob for one, so she was hoping he actually listened to her this year. :rotfl:

Someone on another forum told me it had to do with a grower in another country. I guess there is a famous coffee grower named something like El Toledo. :confused3 Who knew?
I hate having such big feet ...and calves too. I have real issues finding shoes. Many do not come wide enough. I thought I would look once again for those knee high type boots last week. Most barely go up past my lower calve if I can get it to fit the foot. I went to Lane Bryant where I was told they had ones to fit bigger calves. They had the cutest brown pair that looked so cute. Bad thing is the price was $90 and not a sale at all (I hate buying full price anything) and I NEEDED Black. If the price was lower, I would've settled for Brown, but since I have some nice brown boots already, it would be a waste to buy another pair.

Underwater cameras are so great and the digitals are so much better than th disposable ones. I have now used this camera on a few trips and though it's not the best camera and not used a lot, it's been totally worth having it.

I awoke around 5:45 this morning and gave up on sleep. I decided today would be a good morning to grab the tripod and take some early morning pictures. Keep in mind, just because you have a tripod, it does not mean all pictures turn out good! LOL

The sun was starting to peek out.

cmsunrise1.jpg

I took a peek through the window into Palo.

peekintopalo.jpg

I really like this shot.

I basically roamed around the ship and every so often would shoot the sun coming up in the clouds.

And then I saw it and gasped. My pictures are terrible, BUT I saw a rainbow out at sea. Actually it was a double rainbow. It was very faint, but it was just one of the neatest things I have ever seen.

I continued my early morning walk around the ship with my tripod. Some shots came out pretty neat, some, just awful. Some I would play with the settings and take like 4 or 5 of the exact same thing.

I headed towards the atrium.

Well actually I took a lot of the atrium as well too.
