With 6 Todd will eat your egg roll! Nicki, Todd, Katmark & Family Xmas! UPDATED 1/2

I love the YC! If the prices keep climbing and discounts keep dwindling I am never going to stay there anymore :( I was scouring the boards for new cupcakes and had a running list of what I wanted to try!
We have an awesome discount so I am keeping it!! Keeping anything for a week is difficult for me...so 8 months ugh!! :rotfl2:

Sorry I missed your reply before Nicki, posting from my phone....bah humbug!

I met my BFF on the Dis, Janet B, she is a true gift and I will be forever thankful, I also have my "little sis from the Dis" who lives in Staten Island (30 min away from me) You wanna know where we FINALLY met in person...the Poly :beach: There's NOTHING like the DIS family :grouphug:

I want one right now too! Never had a bad meal at the Yachtsman but I will say the filet at Le Cellier with the truffle butter...well that was better but the NY strip at YM was better than the filet. Dis superstar...lol, Todd will get a kick out of that one :thumbsup2
:) We ate at Le Cellier, let's say DH refuses to "dress" on vacation...so getting him back to Canada may be easier than Yachtsman...one day...:groom: The kiddos won't be little forever ;)

Whew! So glad that Starring Rolls truly recognized a snack emergency and opened their doors. Interesting how those cookies just disappear! But the highlight for me would be the gingerbread cupcake - that looks amazing!

Glad you all enjoyed Yachtsman! The steaks look awesome and the sides - ahhhhh soooo delish! What a great way to celebrate Mark's special day!

I have been before but can't wait to go again!
Jill in CO

Lets go right now, I am in the mood for garlic on rolls!

Subbing. Looks like you all had a great time. Looking forward to the rest.

Its was the best time ever!

mmmmm Lemon Meringue is one of my absolute favorites.
[/SIZE]

ooh and baklava too. you're killing me here!

I was not hungry till I started looking at these photos. THat wine looks good too - I love pairing wine with chocolate, esp dark chocolate. :goodvibes

She really enjoyed that tart, too bad the bakalava looks better than it tasted. I love that wine, I buy it at our local Publix grocery store and pretend I am in Epcot lol

oh I can see following you will be dangerous Nikki -- you like all my favorites!

But wait, there is more favorites to come!

Can you believe I've never had a mickey pretzel? GASP!

You must get one, they are great!

did they let you get it filled around the parks? that would have been a great bonus. but it is a great looking mug. I love my DDP mugs and use them every single day.

We never tried, we just asked for the drink without ice and when it was empty put it in my bag

that is EXACTLY what my eyes went to when I looked at the menu. that looks delicious.

Love how you are famous at DisneyWorld!

What, me famous?

oh my gosh is that a dish of roasted garlic cloves? how freakin' fantastic! I love roasted garlic spread on a warm roll, or mixed in with potatoes.

I could live on roasted garlic!

Your steaks and dishes look fabulous. I need to go take a walk now and get over this false hunger becuase everything looks so yummy!

Am I right that you were not using a DDP but TIW for everything? Was it worth it to purchase the TIW card?

We used TIW and it is totally worth it...bought it in Oct and we used it for 11 days, then the 4 days in Dec and plan on using it again for another 11 days in October...hopefully more over the year too!

Hi Nicki,
OMG, the Snowball drink sounds great!! I'm going through withdrawal. I don't know how I'm ever going to wait for my next trip!! I love your reviews. I can never get enough of them!!
Joan

Thank you Joan! I would love to get away in Jan or Feb for a long weekend, hopefully that will come together

Great Yachtsman review! One of the few restaurants I haven't tried, but always hear great things about.

You must try it, the place is fantastic!

You do meet the most wonderful people on the Dis! I have been fortunate to meet many of them and hope to meet many more! The signatures are not really dressy dress...we were in park attire as were many other diners

I was so happy they let me in! It was totally worth it, that cupcake was too yummy to pass up! Yachtsman is def my favorite, how can you go wrong with steak?

Great review of the Yachtsman but OMG that Gingerbread holiday cupcake is to die for!!!! :cloud9: :rotfl2:

Thank you! I wish I was munching on that cupcake right now

Good morning! While we were eating our dinner at the Yachtsman the kids asked what time breakfast at Kona was the next day .... when we said 7:30 am they both looked at us like :faint: so we told them they didnt have to go, the 4 of us would be ok without them :rotfl2: What seemed like great ideas while we were planning this for 6 months really wore us out! So the kids slept in and we both took cabs from our resorts and arrived at the Poly shortly after 7am. Kona wasnt open yet so I took pictures of the Coffee Bar

007.jpg

The Poly was super duper quiet that early but by 7:45 it was really picking up, mostly for Ohana breakfast. We were seated at Kona right at 7:30 and Kathy and I both chanted Pressed Pot Pressed Pot Pressed Pot like coffee starved nut cases :rotfl: We all needed the boost so we had 4 pots for the 4 of us and it was wonderful!! I cannot say enough good things about the coffee at Kona...yes it is totally worth the price!

012.jpg

Todd had OJ, Kathy had the lilikoi juice..I think Mark had juice too

010.jpg

011.jpg

Condiments for our meals

013.jpg

I had a customized dish...I just wanted meat, eggs and tomatoes...the waitress said to order the Big Kahuna with just bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and tomato slices. The bacon was to die for, real honest to goodness thick and not too smokey bacon! I loved it but there was so much I had to share it. The sausage was excellent, the eggs were out of this world! Super creamy and tasty. The tomato slices were very good too, I shared with Mark.

014.jpg

Mark had the Big Kahuna the normal way but with the butter and pineapple sauce on the side and he really loved it

015.jpg

016.jpg

Kathy had her favorite, french toast and bacon! She loved it, especially the bacon which was super duper good!

017.jpg

And last but not least was Todd, he had what he always does, the TONGA TOAST! He loves this so much and he is a big sweet eater so this is just perfect for him

018.jpg

019.jpg

We all had the remaining pressed pot coffee to go and I must say Mark and I were a little overly animated...that coffee really perked us up! Kathy even sent Mark to the corner to behave, she gave him a time out and he went! :rotfl: I never laughed so hard! The four of us had a great meal and alot of fun goofing around! As soon as we left Kona the monorail pulled up and we flew out the door! Time to do MK for the day! Kath, post that picture of Todd sleeping on the monorail, its a hoot!

Yay! We are at MK! First stop, run to the new Fantasyland! Well we didnt run persay, we walked and we stopped for pictures and looked at the decorations on Main Street. We had just a 10 minute wait for the new Little Mermaid ride, which was awesome by the way! I really wanted to try LeFou's Brew so we popped into Gaston's Tavern.

020.jpg

Ok so, I didnt really like it that much. Its cold and slushie like and super duper uper sweet. Like two sips and I was done with it. The foam, ick...I dont like it at all. Todd, my sweet loving man, said the same thing. Maybe it would be better on a very hot day?

We stopped at the Big Top and they had some special cupcakes since the grand opening of the New Fantasyland was the day before

021.jpg

022.jpg

MK was packed this day, I mean just jammed with people...it was crazy. No way were the boys missing out on egg rolls! Mark had one but you know Todd had to have one for each hand!

024.jpg

025.jpg

023.jpg

The plan was to grab lunch and then all of us go back to our resorts for a nap so we could come back and close down MK at midnight. Well there was so much to see and do that we decided to just power through it, have lunch at MK and then tour the monorail resorts and chill out at the bars and then go back to MK. Lunch was at Peco Bills...it was soooo good but very busy.

Kathy had the BBQ pork sandwich and loved it, the fries were just eh

026.jpg

She also had an order of onion rings and they were delicious! Hot and crispy and not greasy, I had one and would have eaten the entire plate!

027.jpg

Mark had the taco salad with all the fixings

028.jpg

This mess belongs to my husband ;) Pickles, of course...this is Todd we are talking about, tomatoes and fries loaded with cheese.

029.jpg

And a kids burger, he liked it alot

031.jpg

And a taco salad for me, I really enjoy this and I love the toppings bar...could use more meat though. Maybe next time I will ask for double meat?

030.jpg

Finished with lunch we made our way through the sea on people to the monorail...seriously the place was as busy as Xmas day!

All caught up Nicki !!Don't know where to start with all that delish food!! Kona is on my list for breakfast and I want the Big Kahuna and I like the idea of the pineapple on the side !!!As for the cupcake .. YUMMY!! Never tried the Yauchtsman either , signature restaurants are on my When I win the Lottery list:rotfl2:I think all the activities at work have slowed down so I should be working more regular hours these 12 + hour days have been exhausting !!! Can't wait for the next batch of PORN!!!!:cool1:

breakfast looks yummy at Kona! yum pressed pot, so need to go there next year!
too funny about Mark getting sent to the corner and just see you all hyped up on the coffee :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:
the cupcakes are so cute, love the decorations on them!

That coffee look so yummy. mmmm I just love Kona coffee! Yes Kathy please do post that picture of Mark. sounds funny!

The description of the brew sounded icky sweet to me too, so I see that this is confirmed. I was hoping they'd have REAL brew :drinking1

Love how you spent your day touring and snacking. How long did it take Andy & Des to roll out of bed & catch up?

What's with all the yucky sweet drinks you were subjected to Nicki? Ugh..yay for Kona and Pecos! Pulled pork...drool!!! The cupcakes looked good!!!

Love that juice; I think Mark had the same juice as me.

Everything was delicious. I know we said we'd only do one breakfast next year; but it will be hard deciding between Kona and Crystal Palace; I want that one character meal, but Kona is sooooooooooooo good.

Kona is a close second to Boma for breakfast, no scratch that, they are tied for first! You must win that lotto so you can eat at the Yachtsman, it is totally worth it. More food porn to come!

breakfast looks yummy at Kona! yum pressed pot, so need to go there next year!
too funny about Mark getting sent to the corner and just see you all hyped up on the coffee :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:
the cupcakes are so cute, love the decorations on them!

I really wanted the pumpkin pancakes but they didnt have them any longer. I tried for them in Oct too but alas it wasnt meant to be. I think Mark was sent to the corner many times that weekend :rotfl2:

That coffee look so yummy. mmmm I just love Kona coffee! Yes Kathy please do post that picture of Mark. sounds funny!

Love how you spent your day touring and snacking. How long did it take Andy & Des to roll out of bed & catch up?

Kona coffee is the best! I just stopped at the store tonight to pick up 3 lbs of 100% Kona coffee from Hawaii...normally it is $45 a lb but Marshall's has the same brand for just $17, what a bargain! The kids caught up with us later that morning...you must check out Kathy's TR because she is going to post a photo of me getting very antsy for their arrival!

What's with all the yucky sweet drinks you were subjected to Nicki? Ugh..yay for Kona and Pecos! Pulled pork...drool!!! The cupcakes looked good!!!

I know right? I had way too many of those that trip...my taste buds were in shock!

Everything was delicious. I know we said we'd only do one breakfast next year; but it will be hard deciding between Kona and Crystal Palace; I want that one character meal, but Kona is sooooooooooooo good.

I am sipping a cup of Kona right now in my Xmas WDW mug but it isnt the same since you are in the frozen tundra and I am in (yes I am going to rub it in) GORGEOUS FLORIDA!

Todd agrees with CP for 8am breakfast on our MK day because he wants Mark to dance with Pooh! :lmao: Plus its been eons since we ate there and its time to go back..and its easier to just stay in the park all day...well not all day, we know what happens when we do that dont we? :scared1:

Great reviews so far! We love Kona for breakfast and I can't wait for my pressed pot in 22 days!

I know what you mean about the drinks being so sweet. It seems like a lot of stuff at Disney is either extra sweet or extra salty. They don't do so well with moderation on those two flavors :confused3

We had just a 10 minute wait for the new Little Mermaid ride, which was awesome by the way! I really wanted to try LeFou's Brew so we popped into Gaston's Tavern.

Well, if it weren't for the two men, I think we would have run to the new Fantasyland. :rotfl::rotfl:

020.jpg

I took a tiny little slip...I didn't care for it at all.

MK was packed this day, I mean just jammed with people...it was crazy. No way were the boys missing out on egg rolls! Mark had one but you know Todd had to have one for each hand!

It was like 4th ofJuly crowded...it was insane.

The plan was to grab lunch and then all of us go back to our resorts for a nap so we could come back and close down MK at midnight. Onion rings were so yummy; french fries--blah!

This mess belongs to my husband ;) Pickles, of course...this is Todd we are talking about, tomatoes and fries loaded with cheese.

029.jpg

This just cracks me up every time I see it. :lmao::lmao:

Finished with lunch we made our way through the sea on people to the monorail...seriously the place was as busy as Xmas day!

I haven't seen it that crowded since 2000 when we were there 4th of July.

MMMM .... onion rings. I have always wanted to get the Taco Salad at Pecos Bills. And I need to try an eggroll sometime as well.

Oh my am I ever hungry!!! I wish I culd get my Hubby to agree to a couples trip. Maybe I could be an honorary "sister" :) Everything looks so yummy and you guys are having so much fun. Nicki if you can you should come in June-we can throw the kids on the floor and have a big slumber party!!

Ahhhh Kona Cafe.... I love that place! I don't think I've read a dining review that involved a time-out for misbehaving! Leave it to Mark to be the naughty boy.

Glad to see that Todd was able to get his egg roll fix - times two! :thumbsup2

Pecos Bill's certainly looks like it is worthy of a visit for the onion rings alone!

I love your food reports. Thanks for sharing. Anyways... Can I interrupt this trip for a special advice? We are going to marco island next week (yep, no disney). Do you have any advice on good eats in the area. We want to see Sanibel, Naples, Fort Meyers, etc...
