I just paid $634 for three nights in a king room at POR for President's weekend 2013. The same room-only package on the Disney website is $898 ... wooohoo!

For the same weekend, Expedia's showing value resorts at non-discounted prices (except Art of Animation). Deluxe resorts are discounted. Grand Floridian for $200 less per night. If only I could afford even that price...

Now... please tell me it's not too good to be true! I looked on Expedia a few months ago and the prices for that weekend were the same as on the Disney site. Are they only doing discounts now because we're closer to those dates?

Expedia typically matches any GP promotions that Disney has going on. I've booked with them a few times when I had a credit or coupon or something with Expedia that would bring the price down a little farther. Once you've paid with Expedia, that's it - you don't pay more for the room when you get to Disney.

It may be that they have a block of rooms assigned to them, so they are still discounting their block, while Disney may have sold out of the rooms they set aside for the discount.

So long as you have the reservation booked and you get a Disney confirmation number (usually takes 2-3 days after booking for that to show in your itinerary) you should be fine.

I just ran the dates we are going in February through Expedia's site and came up with close to the the same price as I am now paying. I have a room only discount of 25% that is currently being offered by Disney.

My sister is staying at POFQ and the Expedia price does seem to be a little less than the price she is paying through Disney. Maybe it is because WDW either didn't give the RO discount to POFQ or the discount was smaller than what Expedia was able to get.

So this may mean that they may not be that crowded in a sense, well, in relations to having empty rooms?

Can you book your room, air, quick dinning and park tickets through Expedia or no?

What you booked through Expedia was Disney's current General Public room-only offer. If you had booked the current room-only discount through the Disney site, your rate would have been $628.44. Sounds like Expedia added on a few dollars. The $898 you saw on Disney's site was rack rate. If you go back to the WDW site, click on "Special Offers" under "Packages", you will see the room-only discount - you have to click through that page to get the discount quote.

Excellent! thank you! I will try that now--much nicer being able to book everything directly and save a few bucks!! :cheer2:

Does anyone know what Poly was offering for the feb 2013 discount?

I'm booking next year...so I always like to know past offers.

We got BWI for $278, if I remember the BC/YC was a bit more like $289ish. I think we looked at POLY and GF and they were a bit higher yet (although we wanted EPCOT area) like maybe $300 or a hair over?

But we simply kept pricing on Expedia just cuz it was easy-but ultimately just called Disney and they gave the same rate. She also mentioned going direct could make any changes easier-as thru a 3rd party we would be dealing with them only.

So its your call of course who you work with-this was just what they told me.

Thanks:..every bit of info helps...

We just found a great deal renting points for BLT.
Looks like we are leading toward this.

Happy searching!
